Stuck at flashing Kernel - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hey guys, I just tried to flash stock FW on my Ray, I am stuck in flash mode now. I am just stuck at flashing kernel at 0%, once it went to 1%. I've tired other firmwares, no luck at all. So now I don't know what I can do to fix this at all. If anyone can please give me some help it would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried PC companion or SUS? I think that is your best bet if your having problems with flashtool.

Can you explain the steps you're using to flash?
What files - what programs - what steps.
If you just reply with a two line "I am trying to do blah and it doesn't work" then I won't bother to reply

I ended up getting it. At first I was getting only 0-1% into flashing kernel.sin, then it would just lock up. Tried a bunch of different things, but what ended up working for me is switching the USB port I was using. I don't know why, but it worked. After that I had no problem, flashed and rooted 4.0.4 no problem. Sorry for the vague post on here, at the time I was in the "OMG I BROKE IT!" panic mode....lol. Had to pull myself away from it for a few minutes, have a smoke, and relax.
What a steal of a deal though, picked up one of these for $129 new locally.

I've read this thread now, broken for broken why you haven't tryie to unlock bootloader trought testpoint method and flas kernel from fastboot mode?

no use in unlocking the bootloader if he want to just flash the stock kernel izzit? i stumbled upon the same problem, tried it with other usb port and work fine. Probably driver issue on the port? because previously i tried to flash on the "renexx" something what it's called. But as soon as i switched back to the intel usb port, seems like the phone can be flashed. Anyone facing the same problem?

[Q] Xperia X10i Flash Problem "Sin header verification failed"

Hello guys,
I recently tried to root and unlock my x10 using the tutorials posted here , the rooting part went okay however I must have messed something up when I tried to unlock the bootloader as right now, flashtool 0.6.7 won't let me flash anything at all , and keeps on throwing " ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN " at me . Tried with several versions of flashtool, tried S1tool to no avail.
Now I'm stuck with a phone that will not boot at all (only vibrates then goes dead).
Your help and suggestions would be really appreciated as I don't wanna give up on it just yet and take it to a service center (out of warranty so I'm gonna have to pay for it myself).
Could you provide some more information?
Which Rom/version of android were you running?
Which method of unlocking the bootloader did you follow?
Did you try repairing the phone with Sony Ericsson PC companion software?
Try flashing the Stock kernel.
As far as i can tell its nothing you won't be able to fix by yourself (with help from here of course ).
Originally I was running stock 2.3.3 , tried rooting using the method posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087 ; everything went fine during the kernel downgrade process , I ran the SETOOL2.bat script which completed successfully however when I got to the kernel upgrade part , flashtool stopped working. Phone is recognized by PC as a "SEMC Flash device" and the green led lights up but as I said in the first post - won't flash my X10. Tried with both Windows and Linux versions, both give me the same error
I also tried fixing it through SEUS and PC Companion , none of them work, keep on saying my phone already has the latest version installed
Suggestions guys ?
Try repair it this method.. Open sony ericsson pc companion and click on support zone.. Then click on repair phone.. Have you tried this?

yes , i tried repairing through PC Companion , tried updating through SEUS , both keep on telling me I'm running the latest version. I ended up taking my phone to a repair shop, after I'll pick it up I'm gonna ask the guys there what they did to fix it so I can share it with you.
Wish I had seen this sooner
I was getting into all sorts of trouble when I was rooting my phone, had at least 2 instances where I though I had bricked it (which would not be good!). And your post sounds similar to what I was getting at 1.30am last Thursday!
What I did, and what I recommend is to download one of the stock roms and flash that through the flashtool. Keep the stock rom close by, if anything else happens then it is your safe place.
Once you've flashed with the stock rom. Re-read the flashing instructions carefully and try again.
Here's the Stock ROM I used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22075170&postcount=413
and flashtool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Thanks for your reply , I tried flashing a stock rom through flashtool 0.6.7 , it didn't work as i was getting the same annoying error. I must admit that it wasn't the same exact rom that you used.
After I get my phone back from the service center I'm gonna try to unlock the bootloader again.
Now I'm curious if your method would have worked
Error - err_severity=
Hello, I have a bricked X10i phone which gave me following error when I tried to flash is using flash tool.
ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed"
It does get detected with a green blink but I only get a black screen on the phone. I will appreciate any help.

same thing happens to my x10i.. I have red many forums on this topic but it doesnt show a solution...
I think it is a bricked phone already.. need to send it for repair
Why don't you try with latest flash tool 0.8.5 or above.
1. Flash stock 2.3.3.
2. There is a menu in flash tool to root.
3. There is a menu under plugin to unlock bootloader.
Stock rom can flash always. X10 can't be bricked so easily.

Since you r already on stock 2.3.3, there is no need to downgrade your baseband.. you need baseband .71 for gingerbread ROMs and the stock ROM is already on it... use SEUS to unroot and flash the stock ROM.. once you r on complete stock try rooting and unlocking using flashtool .9 or the latest version... also install the drivers from the flashtool folder...

It happen because the kernel do not support to ur rom. Install a kernel which supports the ROM....

[Q] Issue after flashing

Hi!
Its my first topic on this forum so i wanted to say welcome to everybody in first place. I would like to mention that my X10i is my first android phone so im completely new with that things.
Stock soft from sony doesnt fitted me i decided to change it. First i managed to root, install xrecovery and all that stuff with a huge help of guides on this forum. Tested some custom roms and finally i saw a jellybean. I thought: I want it! So i tried to follow instruction mentioned in topic (jellybean kickass edition). Occurred problem while flashing cm10, read to try flashing cm9 first - same. Recovered to stock 2.3.3 with xrecovery and tried to flash again. And here I am. I cant get into xrecovery now, just stuck on se logo and even my pc dont recognize x10 when it in flash mode.
Is there any way to fix that? Plis help because phone is out of guaranty.
Edit: Fortunately i manage to restore soft with PCC so topic is for close/del.

Yeap, PCC helped but when my phone had not been recognise by PC when it was in Flash Mode i paniced and wrote on forum. Then i rebooted my PC and there was no trouble with recovery.
Taking the opportunity i would like to ask some more q.
1. I want to install CM10 on my x10 but i encountered some trouble. Do i need unlocked boot loader to to this? I've tried FT bootunlocer but i dont know is it was successfully or not. How to check it? Currently im running on cm7 and stock kernel rooted of course.
Thanks

[Q] Xperia P, Can't seem to fastboot!

Planning on getting rid of the xperia software and flashing Cyanogenmod, However I cannot for the life of me seem to get fastboot! I get a driver popup about S1Fastboot? but it wont take any of the drivers I've downlaoded from the various sources on here for it.
The fact this phone gives no indication its in fastboot mode is more annoying.
What am I doing wrong?!

Wasn't using any tools like that, Good old fashioned ADB. Got some drivers working eventually.
Not sure if you can help with this problem however, Trying to flash ANY rom, I get status 7 error (It appears CWM is bad)
Any ideas?

Status 7 just means there was an error flashing.
Depends which rom (ANY does not tell me much) it might be you just flashing ROMs that require their own kernel/CWM to be flashed.
Now if you give some details, which ROMs are those "ANY" and what CWM(or kernel) you are using I might be able to help.
Updated CWM to a later version than whats in the Q&A thread, However once I tried to flash a ROM, Im now stuck at the sony logo/splash screen, Cannot get into recovery to sort this out at all.

[Q] I wiped everything!!

Hi guys,
I found a stock rooted rom to flash, I have an issue mentioned in a previous thread which means i cannot connect to anything via usb.
I flashed the rom but it was bootlooped, so i went into recovery and did a factory reset.
I tried again but still bootloop, so i went into recovery again and did advance wipe for new rom (everything)
Then it wouldnt mount my external sd so i thought reboot into recovery and see if that works.
well it didnt lol all i get is the sony symbol and no further and i cant get into recovery. have double and triple checked!
Also tried to follow the brick solution but i cant connect to flash from the pc, it just says usb not recognized ( i have installed all the drivers, this seems to be the problem i have at the moment not being able to connect to the pc)
I have booked it in to sony as the usb isnt working and the hard drive is wiped im hoping there will be no evidence of root or custom recovery... please tell me this is the case so i can get the phone repaired under warranty?!
Any advice guys, lease dont be shy!
Oh and yes I know I'm a fool so we can forgo the posts calling me a dingbat ha ha

If the BL was locked there's no way to find out that phone is rooted. Cheers.

[Q] Which one is more effective to recover a bricked phone: fastboot or flash mode?

Hi guys. I've been being a XDA reader for a long time so, today I decided to register in this great community.
As a Xperia phone owner (actually, I don't own a Xperia Z2 but I thought I rather post this question in this subforum since it's a general Xperia phones question and Z2 subforum is crowded, lol), I would like to know which flashing method is more effective when trying to recover a bricked phone: 'fastboot mode' or 'flash mode'.
I ask this question because my Xperia M2 is stuck in bootloop (I can power it on and both Sony and Xperia logo appears but when the "purple waves screen" appears, handset does nothing else, just keeps showing that purple screen with waves in motion).
I've been trying out to flash a .FTF file with Flashtool but to no avail. Once process is finished and reboot my phone, it gets stuck at same "purple waves screen".
The problem is that the bootloader isn't unlockable unless I send my phone to Sony Technical Service to change "Unlock Bootloader Allowed" to Yes (they can do it for free since my contract with carrier is finished). But before doing so (in order to enable fastboot commands), I would like to know whether or not it worths sending the phone to Sony. So:
Is there any chance I could recover my phone trying out to flash a ROM with fastboot commands enabled (bootloader unlockable and unlocked) knowing I wasn't able to recover it with 'flash mode' (flashtool)?
If so, which steps should I take? Maybe extracting .SIN files from within .FTF file? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.
PD: Before flashtool, I also tried to recovery the phone using official PC Companion, but with same result as flashtool.
You cant realy recover a phone through fastboot (aside flashing a stock kernel.sin)
(asuming a custom kernel on LB is the cause)
There are many reasons for a brick but the most common ways of unbricking would be forcing off the device and flashing a FTF which can only be done via flashmode

Thanks for your reply, Envious_Data. If I flashed an entire ROM (.FTF Stock ROM file) with flashtool, kernel is supposed to have been replaced with stock one after the process, isn't it?
What do you suggest to do further? Firstly, I tried PC Companion. Then I tried Flashtool. My next step was going to be trying to unlock bootloader to enable fastboot commands but, from what you said, maybe that's not worth it... Any chance I could recover my phone myself without sending it to Sony? If I send it to Sony to convert BootLoader to Unlockable ("Unlock Bootloader Allowed: YES"), will the phone be recovered "collaterally" (maybe, to do so, they do a fresh ROM install and that fix the bootloop problem, I don't know, what do you think)?

They wont do that, they will refuse to help you unlock your bootloader unlockable
I recomend flashing a FULL FTF because it should fix your device if it isnt suffering hardware damage.

If your contract with carrier is finished, Sony can and, in deed, does convert the bootloader status from "Unlock Bootloader Allowed: NO" to "Unlock Bootloader Allowed: YES", but you have to send your phone to Sony Technical Service. From what I've been reading, in that process, techs do some flashing jobs, so maybe phone gets recovered collaterally... Any clue?
Have you tried waiting a bit for it to fully boot up? Seems like you just came from flashing and booting up the phone may take a while. I tried flashing LP rom earlier today, and it took me 20 mins before the phone boots up completely.

Hi das.dian24. Yes, I've been waiting for it to boot up more than 20 minutes, even 30 or 40 mins, but no luck. It's so weird. I can't believe I can't fix this bootloop problem flashing the phone either with flash mode or with fastboot mode. I don't think that's a hardware problem.

Now thats really weird, i only experienced this kind of bootloop when i mistakenly formatted /system and forgot to flash any rom after that. Maybe not a hardware problem since the phone boots up til bootanimation and the fact that u can flash roms successfully.

Maybe, if I manage to unlock bootloader, I could recover my phone just flashing system.sin through fasboot mode with "fastboot flash system system.sin" command... What do you guys think?
