I ve purchased my lumia 800 from 2 months now and i read that tango is ready to update.
When i tried to see what product code my phone has , i encountered a problem
The first and the second number is erased a little bit and i cannot see what number is it.
i have something like ?#9n263 , where ? can be 0 3 5 6 8 9 and # - 0 3 5 6 8 9
Is there a software to check the product code or can i find him elsewhere ?
I didn t received the update to tango either .
Just connect to the computer and fired up NCS and after reading phone information you will see PC on the right.
Can you give me a download link ?

Your product code could be "059N263"
That s strange . I bought the phone from an well known online IT shop from Romania .
And another strange thing is : Country Variant Lumia 800 059N263 Update available . I didn t get any message regarding the update
No idea how to update it ?

Microsoft is responsible for deploying the update worldwide and has announced that it would gradually do this until end of July (2012), so you should receive the update automatically over the next 2 weeks...
If you are really in a hurry, you will find other posts in the forum on how to force the update, either by interrupting the update check in Zune or by using tools to send the update to the phone. But please be aware that quite a few people had problems after forcing the update.
Personally, I hate how Microsoft is handling this, although I understand why they are doing so, but decided to wait until the update becomes available.

The last couple of days when I try to use the Speech interface in WP7.5 (7720.68), it always tells me "can't connect".. It worked after the upgrade from NoDo to Mango but for two or three days straight now, it does not work.
It happens both on WiFi and 3G connection.
Anyone else got the same problem? (or any ideas on how to solve it)

Been getting this today with the newest DFT rom, never had this problem until now.
ive got the excatly the same issue i have tried everything, i have no clue as to why this happens, you can load bing up and try using voice and in which will say cant connect but then u search the same thing by typing and itll work, its so strange i have no idea why this happens.
I have the same error after flashing Mango with DFT Rom (7720)
For me, it started working last night again (and is still working today).
I have had this issue too since using Ansar Nodo ROM, but an official Mango Dev (7712) update.
Edit: update, speech recognition worked earlier :-0 so perhaps it was a Bing thing?
Speech is working for me again as of last night.

Don't know where you heard Mango was coming on the 15th, its never been officially announced by Microsoft. It has been rumoured to be close to release but as I said no official release as of yet.
get one from ebay, only 10 quids lower than average price.
now the phone keeps stuck in demo mode .
basically i can not use facebook and i will see the demo flash again and again when charge the phone. also it may ask for resetting sometimes.
how to get rid of it ? the seller answer really slow and now it is chirstmas,
it is very hard to return for a quick refund now.
i was told some of HTC users met the same problem and solve it by renew the rom
anyone know where can i get one for nokia ?

Try to flash an original rom into it
The Demo's are only put on there via Nokia themselves as there is no way to flash the software yourself, i know this because i deal with demo handsets, chances are you have a stolen handset my friend, as far as a i know there is no way to remove the demo content as it would be easily removed by customers in the shop, even if you do manage to find the demo content, you may even be prompted to enter an operator password, maybe not!?
See if theres an update for your phone, or try to find a task manager where you can switch off apps, but i'm guessing you won't be able to remove it and the update may even leave the demo content intact, i would personally speak with the seller if they're not co-operative then i would leave feedback reflecting that and maybe even speak with nokia themselves, being the good eggs that they are they may just give you a new one.
Alternatively you could brick the device and send it back to nokia claiming that it's a dead handset, you may / will need proof of purchase so again, speak with the seller and see what can be done, but if it's a hot handset then i'm afraid your **** out of luck on that one.
You may not need a receipt so maybe speak with an engineer first to see what can be done, it's a young phone so should theoretically be covered by some sort of warranty, worst case scenario is that it is stolen and nokia know about the phone, you send it off, they check on it and they retain it and your out of pocket.
Best case scenario, you speak with nokia, they exchange it for a new one, but i guess you'll have to take a risk to find that out.

in this Nokia Firmware Downloader: select option and choose server , then "Nokia Care Suit"
The Nokia Lumia 800 is found under the code name: RM-801 and there are 3 firmware releases.

we only need NCS and an non-demo rom and done
Free at last.
I debranded mine 4 days ago and I got rid of that demo content and all [email protected] stuff.
My phone is brand new. I've just followed the steps from another site. I'm new in this forum so, i'm not allowed to give external links.

My issue is when I attempt to plug my phone into NCS when starting the recovery process, all that happens is that my phone vibrates and my computer doesn't recognize the device

To remove the demo content you have to flash your device with a ROM from a device that has no demo content in it. You can use official Nokia ROMs (you get them with the NaviFirm program) or the unofficial ones that are posted around this forum (as I'm pretty noob on this, I went with the official ones)
Check my link above, where I describe the steps to do it, and provide an additional link to a step-by-step guide to download the ROMs with NaviFirm and flash with Nokia Care Suite.

i bought a Lumia 800 Second hand a couple of days ago ( im more an android guy, but i wanted to try it )
- I've been looking everywhere on how to unlock it and install a 7.8rom on it ..
My issue is i cant find enough information to figure out if my phone is capable of doing this ..
It's a Lumia 800 with Windows Phone 7.5
Firmwareversion 1750.0805.8773.12220
Bootloader version: 7.41.0.0
I dont know what kind of information you need and where i can find it ..
but is it possible for me to unlock and install a custom rom on this device?
And in which case.. where do i start?
Any help would be appreciated..

First, i would recommend you to check if you've got qualcomm bootloader:
1. turn off your phone
2. press vol-up + power till you feel it vibrate
3. release both buttons
4. connect it to your pc
IF your computer shows "format mass storage", DO NOT FORMAT!!! This will brick your phone. But in case you see this message, you're lucky and have the qualcomm loader, which is needed for custom rom flashing.
If it shows you Nokia DLOAD, you have the locked bootloader and need special hardware & good soldering skills to make your DLOAD Lumia 800 to qualcomm

If you don't want to wait, download Navifirm and search for latest fw of your product code.
If it's not available, just download a fw from another product code and flash this to your phone using nokia care suit / support tool for store.
There should be how-to's published here on xda.

Hi l just get a brand new Lumia 800 sealed package and came with 7.8 already installed ,but l have 1 prob....the screen lags...but one year ago when l ve been see a lumia 800 with the old software was no lag at all l wish to have 7.5 on it because what l hate most on a device is the lag this is the reason l ve gived up android.....between me and Lumia 800 was Love at first sight but l want somehow to install wp7.5 official not custom,and l don't know how

Alright, your first mistake is trying to "upgrade" your Nokia Lumia 710 to android. You can't load any android ROM onto any recent WP phones unless ported and loaded through the Windows Phone Internals program thanks to Heathcliff74.
Second, you need a ported version of android that is compatible to the Nokia Lumia 710 in which I am highly positive there is no port out there yet.
Third, it'll be a while before there's a port for android that's available for Windows Phones, especially recent ones. The Windows Phone Internals program was only recently released and Android wasn't built for Windows Phone specifications.
To fix: Try the Windows Device Recovery Tool (unable to share link because I'm a semi-new user)
READ ALL OF IT, THERE'S ALSO A NOKIA SOFTWARE RECOVERY TOOL IF THE WINDOWS DEVICE RECOVERY TOOL DOESN'T WORK
Finally, if your device isn't a developer phone, then I'm sorry and in order to load another ROM, you'd have had to unlock your phone, in which VOIDS ALL WARRANTIES, in which you could TRY to return it to the retailer that you bought it from and ask them to fix it, but I doubt it because your warranty was broken.

I searched for updates again, and now it says that my system is up to date.
I don't get this. My daughter, also located in France, has had the same phone for over six months and received the ota update to magic 3 / Android 10 two or three months ago.
How come I don't get this update now with a new device?

I know it doesn't answer your question, but my device just updated to 3.0.0 on May 21th.
I'm disappointed, as the update removed the zoom lens on low light or night time. Watch out. I wish I didn't update.

Hi!
I was stuck on the same problem, but found a way around it on some site (don't remember which). So the global one is apparently only up to 9.1. The Chinese one, however, is receiving updates. So although you might not get updates automatically, you can still manually update using this app. ("This app" was supposed to point to a link to an app, but apparently I'm a "new user" so I can't post links yet. It's called "Firmware Finder for Huawei" and its on the Play Store. ). It does not require root or anything, just follow the in-app instructions. I find that the router method is easier and doesn't pose any problems. It just requires access to the router's settings. This app is linked directly to Huawei and Honor's official repository. When I used it, I did not experience any data loss, but as usual back up your stuff. Just be sure to read all the instructions.
