Is there a program that can view the root folder on PC, I need to copy files from my phone to my PC for backup.
Android Commander from XDA .
http://androidcommander.com/
jje
Adb..
But download "galaxy s3 toolkit v3" by mskip from development forum. This toolkit allows u to root, flash backup and other useful things.
Does this method work on International Version of Galaxy S III?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27581018
It's in the international version forum, so of course, but what does it have to do with the topic? and why didn't you ask in that thread?
did you find a way?

ES File explorer for copying files from Phone to PC and the other way around, but cable always works the best.

I've noticed that one of the steps in flashing CM7 for the Vibrant is to flash "vibrant-efsbackup.zip".
See link-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968291
The question I have is: Does the vibrant-efsbackup.zip file backup of your efs for you (as the name suggests)? If so, can it be used as a standalone way of backing up the efs partition, without having to use adb or terminal emulator? I'm not using CM7 so this would be used with Darkys 9.3 vibrant edition.
Thanks in advance!

Yes that will create a folder on your /sdcard called /sdcard/backup/efs and it can be used with this post:

What about doing what I just did.
I used root explorer. Went to /efs. Copied the entire folder. Then pasted to my internal sd card root.
Then to have a copy on my computer, I just copied onto my computers dekstop.
I have an entire copy of /efs folder.
Good enough?
perfect! i also just have a complete backup of my internal on my pc desktop for emergencies.
I think you have to mount the folder before copying.

Yes you have to be rooted I think, and you have to mount it to see it, you also can't see it unless you use a root explorer type app.

I need to connect my phones internal files to my pc, so i can access everything in my phone, root explorer or other apps won't allow that.

Root explorer allow you to delete system files.. you just have to change permission for it to work... thrust me I dint know how to do it at the beginning but it works.
You can use root explorer to copy/paste the files you want to your SD card. Or simply adb pull. Either way will work.
Just use adb wireless. You have full access wirelessly that way.

You can always use Droid Explorer.

personally I prefer using the tools google has released for developers all included in the android-sdk package. the main tool for command line access to the device is adb (android debug bridge).
i wrote a quick/simple guide on the basic commands for using adb - [TUTORIAL/HOW TO] Basics of ADB
hope that helps!
Thanks ppl ill give your suggestions a go
Joey your tutorial is noob friendly +1thank you brother.

Hello guys!
Im trying to make my own ROM for my android device. Im following a guide from this site. The guide explain two ways to get the system folder copy to my sd card.
First of all using de Android terminal emulator, and using comands. I tried that way but it keeps telling me: SH TAR: not found
Then other way i tried from ES explorer, copying de system folder manually but at 45% of copyng pop up a error about " cant copy run -as"
I searched the web, couldnt find my exact problem, neither in the forum.
What should i do?
Thanks!:good:

You cannot do that without having your device rooted, as the file permissions won't allow you to list contents there.
