Did you sign up on dropbox by using SIII or through computer?
I got 50GB when i signed my existing account via dropbox signing page on SIII.

through my phone...just dont understand it

I signed up during the initial setup process of the phone. Signed up perfectly fine and got the 50GB dropbox.
You didnt skip it, and register it some funny way? You may want to contact dropbox about it

@monkey sausage ... Just open your mail account which you submitted while opening your dropbox account. Therein you will find a mail from the DropBox inc , open it & just select the clauses which are not ticked or cancelled .
When you have gone through every clause (you may just click on the clause & tap the back button , all they want is that you have read all the clauses) , a message will appear that you now have access to additional 50 GB space on dropbox.

i havnt got the original email, deleted it...is there another way to do this

My welcome email only asked me to do this:
Thanks for supercharging your Samsung device with Dropbox! To claim your 48 GB of space, complete five steps from our Get Started guide.
if you login to dropbox on a computer, go to
https://www.dropbox.com/gs
I have a list of 7 steps there and I had to complete 5 to get all 50GB.
Not sure how to make it skips all those like @ketani73 said.

Install dropbox through computer and follow 7 steps and u wil get more than 50GB of storage

What does that app do?
P.S. On their site, Box states the following:
If you already have an older version of the Box app on your device, you just need to sign into your account on your device and the upgrade should be complete.

I think you have to set the manufacturer to "LGE", not "LG". Here's a quick tutorial:
First, install the Box app from the Market and create a free account. (You'll get 5 GB of free space already.)
Next, find the build.prop file on your phone's internal memory. (On some ROMs, it may be in the root directory; for me, it was in the "system" folder). Copy the file to your SD card and also make an extra copy of it for backup. Long-press one of those copies and select "Open As," choose "Text," and open it. Look for the line that says
ro.product.manufacturer=Motorola
and change it to
ro.product.manufacturer=LGE
Also find the line that says
ro.product.model=MB525
and change it to
ro.product.model=VS910 4G
Save the edited file, then use a root-enabled file explorer (like ES File Explorer) to copy your edited "build.prop" file from your SD card and paste it back where you got it in the system folder of the phone's internal memory, overwriting the original file. Then reboot the phone, log into your Box app again, and you should see a message saying you've been upgraded to a 50GB account.
Then copy the backed-up (non-edited) version of your build.prop file and paste it back in the system folder (the same way you did with the edited version), and reboot the phone again. Your phone is now back to normal (and all your apps, etc. will correctly recognize it as a Motorola DEFY), but you'll still have your 50GB of free space!
Thanks. It's work.

OK, someone please enlighten me: is this service for file sharing or file stealing? How do they guard against copyrighted material being "exchanged"?
OK, I called Box and spoke with customer service and they claim they are not just another version of MegaUpload but have, apparently, 100% zero checks in place to prevent IP theft. They said, however, they are going to "shoot my question upstairs" and get back to me.
tHANK YOU!
nice
Nice one thanks for the heads up
that's cool, working and its great
thanks
Still works.
Got a Headache? It's all in your Head.

Well, since it was a promotion from Box (install their app within a certain period and get automatically 50GBs for life) I made an account too. The good news is that Titanium Backup Pro got updated a few days ago with support for Box syncing (so those 50GBs make sense now, despite the user being limited to max. 100MB files).
Not really a problem

My 50GB Dropbox

Hello
Ive just noticed after signing up for dropbox on the setup screens, I havent got the 50gb space?
Something Ive missed?
Afaik you have to upload something to there from the phone. At least my space activated after that.
You don't have to upload a file, just log in to the app on your phone and click on the upload button.
At least that worked for me. I was trying to find a suitable file to upload when I got the following email from Dropbox.
Congrats on becoming a Dropbox Guru! We've awarded you 48 GB of bonus space for the next 24 months! You now have 56.75 GB on Dropbox. To get even more space, check out our upgrade options.
Thanks again for supercharging your Samsung device with Dropbox!
Enjoy,

[Q] Getting the 50g free dropbox

So I just got my phone from Best Buy but the guy skipped through the screen for dropbox during setup. Do I need to get back to that screen to get the 50 free gigs or can I just use the regular app.
log in via dropbox app, you'll then receive an email congratulating you on your new galaxy s III etc etc.
Has a link you click do a few stupid things and its yours.

Weird, I didn't get an email. I just signed in, pushed the options to check my storage, and it was updated to reflect the additional 50gb to my 15gb already.
You just have to do 5 out of the 7 or 8 things on their "Get Started Guide" in order to activate the extra 48GB space.
Cool thanks guys
Not bad

you must of already completed 5 tasks.
getting the extra 50G
Similar situation for me.
I am a free user who is up to 5.8G based on referrals.
From what I am seeing from other user, seems I just jump through a few hoops signing on my new SIII and end up with 55Gigs. And when the two years is over, I drop back to wherever I was with referrals?
Thoughts?

[HOW TO] Get Dropbox Space w/ HTC Offer

IMPORTANT: YOU ONLY HAVE ONE SHOT AT THIS ON A SINGLE DEVICE--MESS IT UP AND YOU'LL HAVE TO GET A NEW DEVICE TO TRY AGAIN
You *must* flash an International ROM and use an account that you haven't used with a HTC phone before. NOTE: If you tried the DropBox apk pulled from the One X last year on any android device you must use a different account, even if it didn't work.
MOD EDIT: Removed. This is not allowed on XDA for devices which are not part of the original promotion.
Worked for me thanks a bunch

Unlock bootloader through HTC Dev, install custom recovery, and install any ROM from the International forum. I found the International Stock ROM to be very nice.
Sign in during the setup process with a Dropbox account. YOU MUST USE AN ACCOUNT THAT HASN'T BEEN USED WITH THIS OFFER BEFORE, SEE ABOVE.
Complete 5 of the 7 steps at www.dropbox.com/gs
If you did it correctly, within a couple minutes you should get an email.

I was going to do this but passed it up because I now use Google Drive for everything. Thanks for this info though
How much space you will additionally get with already existing drop-box account for this HTC offer?
So if I took advantage of the drop box promo on my HOXL, I can not use that same drop box account and get another x amount of GB on this phone? Or do you mean the same Google account on the phone?

Get 25 GB of Dropbox space free for two years*
With Dropbox integrated into HTC Sense, you can automatically save all your photos and videos to Dropbox – and access and share all your pictures directly from the Gallery. Dropbox also makes it easy to edit and share files while you are on the go, so you never have to email yourself a document again. To discover all that Dropbox can do, sign-up or log-in to Dropbox on your HTC phone and receive 25 GB of Dropbox space free for two years.

only problem is theirs no instructions on how to get it.
I logged in with my normal account and still just have the 3.8GB I've had for the past 2 years

Same Dropbox account. So you can't use the same Dropbox account you used on your HOXL because it has already been used to get free space through the HTC offer/deal thing.

[Q] important info keeping and uploading

I'm looking for a way to save my stuff and access it anywhere if possible. I keep a diarey and other senstive stuff I can't leave on my phone but want to upload text document..video and audio. I would use Google drive but I can't log out of it and issues will arise if I password protect a app. As my woman will go through them and delete What she sees fit... We r looking to split up after 10 years... What options do I have?

I read that they were shut down?
Have you considered Dropbox?
Or if you're looking for a filehost, Zippyshare?
You can also hide apps as opposed to using a password.
