Can someone link me the correct way of rooting official isc? Been reading a lot of threads with people bricking etc after rooting.

Lol bricking??? Doubt it maybe a soft brick.....if they hard bricked then they are a complete idiot and shouldn't root ...its very easy and its hard to even brick an Android now a days as long as u read and follow instructions

I've never bricked while rooting but you missed my whole point...Im looking for a link so i can root official ics, people have bricked while using older programs.

All set. I dug around all of the "help bricked after root" threads and finally found a post were someone linked the proper files and instructions.

it the pic i see the background is transparent for this widget...the one i downloaded is not transparent..how do i make it transparent?
Need to root / flash the phone of course.. ..
here are the specs on it:
USA AT&T
Samsung SGH-1777
Android 2.3.4
Baseband I777UCKH7
Kernal 2.6.35.7
I read thru the post.. downloaded Odin, Clockwork and updated my Kies to the latest.
Put the phone it debug mode, rebooted (power/down/home) to get to flash screen... I use Odin.. it sees the phone.. I choose the rom ( Litening rom v6.1) and only have the 2 boxes checked. hit start.... and nothing ever happens on the phone.
Am I missing something?? Please advise,

OP, can you do us all a favor, and when you brick your phone from a lack of attention to details, like say, using a ROM actually made for the device you are using, or flashing it the right way, that you just accept the fact that YOU broke your phone.
Please do not make everyone else suffer by returning it for RMA and claiming ignorance, all that does is increase the costs that the rest of us have to pay. We should not have to pay for stupidity.

I have an used s2 and i see there is the yellow triangle but when i go to rootexplorer it doesnt give me superuser permission.what does that mean?i am new to s2 have had desire till now..can anyone help?thanks
Well im also new to sgs2 and to Android in general.
From what i understand u had a root but u some how unrooted your device...
Im using my phone so look in general section there are TONS of rooting guides.. flash back to stock kerenal just to be safe, and the yellow triangle, there are few methodes to remove it, all those things are very well explained in forum.. i hope i helped =]

For rooting try this Eroot in search box select the thread by Nabeel.
And after rooting, just install the app call xPart from the market and follow the instruction that the app give ... And BOOOM your phone is rooted and cwm installed :thumbup:

IMHO you should try to flash CWM once more, maybe this time another one.
I tried to install it many times but failed
And last time I tried to do it done but as you see done with problem
And I tried many times again but no change
