Oh, sorry I didnt notice. I dont know any solution to this. You can try to browse the forums or search the play store to find app capable of doing this.

I want to do this to slender man for android so i can listen to the soundtrack from the pc game
i think an app like this is possible to make but i browsed google play store and haven't found one, hopefully in the future some dev will make this kind of app
in the meantime what you can do is mute the whole system volume and use a different device to play music
also email the game's dev tell them to add an option to mute the sound
This would take care of your issue:

Doesn't work on Android 7.1.2 :/
Hmm, so no dice on this for Nougat? I would love to mute a game that always starts with the volume up. I can change the volume in the game, but only after a lengthy, loud intro, and it resets the volume the next time I play it...
Anyone found solution?
Solution (for Samsung Phones)
If you happen to be on a Samsung phone, there is an app called "Sound Assistant" which is excellent - adding volume sliders for whatever individual apps you like.
Samsung wastes a lot of money and frustrate a lot of people customizing & bloating Android, but this *optional* app is great and should be mimicked by Google into base Android!
Nope no solution for this problem
Hmm, still nothing?
Maybe try using something like VMos and running the app in there and disabling sound

yeah i think if he can get it to work with spotify it should work with all of the music player, youtube, media stream or anything like that.
Beats is just a software equalizer, that's all. There's a fantastic app on the market called Volume+ that will do the same thing for every app (movies, games, pandora, etc). Give it a shot!

I agree it's nice, but Beats sounds really good in my car without any tweaking.

I am not sure if that is possible with any app if the rom doesnt support it.
In CyanogenMod if I am not wrong ability to change tracks while long holding volUp/Down buttons is a feature of CyanogenMod itself, not the music app used.
That was very usefull to me, for example while driving home from work and listening to music via smartphone. I could just hold the volUp button to skip the annoying song. Now I cant do that. At least I havent found a way.
Anyway I will check PowerAMP. I might be wrong so it's worth a try.
This is not a true separation. The app merely re-adjust the system volume to predefined levels based on whether music is being played.
In case anyone wants such functionality. Here is the .xap file. Link should be fixed now.
A few screenshots
Very cool! To save us the effort of decompiling the app, do you mind sharing the source code? Does the monitor service run constantly, or does it act like a normal background agent (30-minute checks)? Does it require any capabilities or have any restrictions beyond dev-unlock?
By the way, download appears to be broken.
Nice but where is the xap ? Link is wrong.

As of now no background agent/monitoring. Only works if the app is used to play/stop music.
only dev unlock is required but I am using an library from another guy, whom I have not been able to contact yet.

thanks for trying ?
the only thing it does is to put the system volume to a high level when you stop music playback so you won't miss a phone call because ringtone is not loud enough. Similarly it brings the volume down before playing music. I know some people want such functionality.
other than that it's just a soft volume slider and soft power button. And a shortcut to completely mute the phone.
I'll add some more functions such as picking a certain album/song.
Share source code

Hi guy, can you share for me the source code of this app.
As is commonly known, at lower volumes the sound on the G pad is pretty dark and murky.
This can be improved easily by using an equalizer app and turning down the bass/lower frequencies, and turning up the higher frequencies.
I've tried a few different apps, some work, some don't.
Currently I'm using the "Music equalizer" app, which is allright but turns itself off after 30 minutes, so I'm looking for something better.
What apps have you found that work well with MX player?
(I know sound improves in other ROM's but I want to stay rooted stock, so custom ROM's are not an option right now)
Same here.
Today I installed DSP manager (from cyanogenmod).
Nice and exactly what I want, except that it doesn't work at all.
Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk
I use PowerAmp music player. It has a great DSP but I don't know if it works system-wide and I haven't really tried to find out because I haven't really though about it.
Upgrade to CM11, it will change your tab, especially concerning the sound..
Poweramp seems to be a music player rater than a generic equalizer.
About CM, have I mentioned in my start post that I want to stay stock, or did I forget to say that?

Greetings..
I know you want to stay stock but...
I was just reading this thread and I have CM-11 installed and I thought.. why not turn on Netflix and the DSP (which I was not using) and see if the DSP Mgr. does make a difference..
It Does.. A Big Difference if you adjust the EQ manually.. So at least you know you have an option should your situation become unbearable.
I know there is that option so I have considered that. Not having Qremote is not an option at this moment, so I'm not going there.
As for equalizers, I've found another one that works, but it also turns off after 30 minutes.
I have the impression that this is not so much a funcionalty, but a limitation within android.
Does anyone know if all equalizer apps will turn off after 30 minutes?
Does any app exist that I can use that doesn't turn itself off?

If you are rooted you could try AlsaMixer. It's kinda a carry over from Linux. Bear in mind that it had a major overhaul some time ago. It has so many settings for each connectin you won't believe it. Unfortunately I have no idea how to use it after the overhaul as everything is classified pretty cryptic, but I believe I saw something about 5 different EQ bands. AlsaMixer is system wide btw. The EQ is just one of many variables you can set. However finding a tutorial is imminent, if you ask me. Good luck.

I'm not certain of what I'm saying right now. But since MX Player is capable of using both software and hardware for both sound and video I suspect it may use it's own settings.. I don't know. I'm basing it on ZPlayer in the Market which I used for a long time, that one had it's own EQ and such and the dev said that the users shouldn't be using any 3rd party EQ's because it wouldn't have any effect.. May be some of the same stuff going on with MX Player since it offers all these different decoders.. Sorry, I'm not going back to stock to test this. Anything CM/AOSP related, I'll gladly check out for you. :/
I'm just wondering; DSP manager does not seem to have any effect on the sound of any apps here.
As for MX player (which is the only app I really care about for an equalizer to work with),
some equalizer apps work with it and some don't.
The few that I found that work all quit after 30 minutes, probably that's a limitation in android?
I'm starting to think harder about Mahdi rom, it sure looks nice but I just can't part yet from Qremote.

Rooted users can use viper. It is the best system wide system modulator out there. It can be found almost anywhere on these forums. If you need a link, pm me and i'll send you one.

Anyway .. I agree with Charlie: it is a very good sound enhancer utility.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion.
Viper4androidFX works,
it works with MX player and it keeps working after 30 minutes.
I believed for a moment that this was the solution for optimizing the sound on the G pad,
however viper seems to have an unwanted effect on videoprocessing;
while streaming HD content over MX player there is a slight stutter in the video that immediately disappears when I turn viper off.
That makes useless for me really.
I am thinking about saying goodbye to the Qremote app and flashing Mahdi.

ZTE advertised A7 with High Quality sound capability on the first place targeting audiophile buyers. The question is that users are satisfied with support what ZTE provide in this subject? Is it OK that Music Player cannot handle metadata in appropriate way, cannot list songs in right order, doesn't show any technical info about material, is laggy and slow after being 8 months on the market? Can't you expect more from an audiophile(?) phone?
Have ZTE done anything to share DAC info with developers in order to make HQ Audio feature available in other Players at least.
To tell true I am very disappointed. And you?

I'm using Play Music app and the DAC is activated as far as i can tell. You don't have to use their Music player.
One issue that bugs me is the inability to change the EQ settings in Dolby atmos, they always revert back to normal and the sliders don't stay where you want them to. Talked to ZTE they said its a software issue and maybe the new update will fix it.

Through OpenSL ES. Unfortunately it converts everything to 48/16 first. Yes, then sound goes to DACs. I don't find direct DAC option in settings or a word about it in guide. If it exists please let me know.
Update: may be check wrong player.
I have found two players with name "Play Music Player". May be there more. What do I choose?
USB Audio Player Pro. Play through Android mode, variable bitrate (gets around the android fixed sampling). Worth the money and uses the built in DAC.

Luckily it has free trial version.

It also recognized DSD/DSF file. Of course Player can play DSF in PCM mode but it can payed it in DoP and native mode as well. Hurray, it is believable because AKM chips support DSD.
At this point I though to install Player onto Samsung Note 3 with Snapdragon 800. As I know SD800 doesn't support DSD. The result is same. It sounds in all three modes. After this I don't know what to think. I would think that Player overrides my choice and chooses the first capable mode. I would but why doesn't the fourth auto mode exist? Hmmm.
Update: Looks that DSD setting is only for USB DAC. Too bad. Anyway, the program is not bad at all. Thanks.
I did test and compare stock and USB player. Although UAPP writes that Android gets high sample rate stream, the stock player sounds clearly better. It is no doubt.
Have you tried using PowerAmp? It has built in DAC control and this overrides the Dolby Settings (Dolby app becomes unusable when this is selected in PowerAmp). Sound is great and it has a great way to control the EQ. I've using PowerAmp since my first Android phones and now with this is just awesome!

As I see there is no other option. The only problem is that PA is not free and alpha version doesn't have free trial. Correct me if I am wrong. OK finally I could manage it. I cannot say anything about quality yet but I would have question. It seems to me that fix sample rate must be preset otherwise app does up or downsample. Isn't there option to send stream to DAC as it is? It is more annoying for me because I listen 88.2/24 materials recently.

I am using PA (bought it) also and afaik the auto samplerate feature is not built in. This might come in a future release but despite the releasedate of the last beta, I have doubts that this will come anytime soon.
I still bought PA in the hope that the dev is still actively developing, maybe a little naive.
