Email widget to look like Gmail widget - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway that I can get the stock email widget to look just like the gmail widget?

Sorry I can't help. But I have wondered the same thing.

Download a Gmail icon (search on XDA for many icons) and then go to Google Play and download Desktop Visualizer and you should be able to sort it :good:

You can also change icons if you use Apex Launcher.

Question regarding desktop visualizer

I want to change my messaging and contacts icons on the touchwiz launcher but can't figure out how. The only option it gives me is to replace them with another app. I can make new icons to place on my screens but not on the tw row.

You need Launcher Pro or some other home screen alternative to change those.
I have been using Launcher Pro for a while now and wanted a change for a while. Thanks though.

Favorite Contact Widget?

Hi I'm looking for a widget for my favorite contacts on home screen like Sense Rom's do.
I want to use this on a HD2 with CM7 Rom.
You could try "life.contacts", published by Sonyericsson. Alternatively DW contacts, aContact, etc do the same thing but don't have a proper widget.

[Q] Modify Gmail Widget

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to modify the stock gmail widgets colour and gradient? I'm trying to theme my device and everything else looks good but that sticks out as its all blue. Unfortunately I can't use any other widget as I have limitations as I'm going through a proxy and allot of other widgets don't work well over proxy. Many thanks in advance!

I would love to know too. Its sort of ugly with the stripes and blue. Maybe there is another widget that we can download that would tie in to gmail?

You can get an app that can read your email such as "Pure Messenger" and use their widgets. (They're pretty customizable)

The Best Screen Lock App

My wish is that someone would make a Screen Lock App and maybe some has, if not I think this a great idea, of course.
1. It must show any missed income calls, messages and emails.
2. Time and weather.
3. Circle when long pressed to swipe outside of circle to open.
4. Customizable App selection; the ability to add a few apps around the circle to choose from, but if not chosen swipe outside of the circle to opens.
5. Select a random picture everytime you turn on your phone from a directory of your choice.
I think that's a tall order my friend, but you can try Widget Locked and see if you get some or all of those things you're looking for...

Yes, WidgetLocker is great. It allows to add homescreen widgets on it. Plus, it has many themes to launch apps (ICS, Sense, iPhone).
I'd like to add more: Install "Tesla Unread" to get missed call, SMS and Gmail counts.
Yeah, Widget Locker pretty much does all of that minus Live Picture wallpaper.
Try Go Locker from Play Store

You'll have to install Go Launcher EX to use it. Just to tweak lock screen usability, changing home launcher is an overkill..
I'm gonna suggest, as others here have, Widget Locker. I've always been running widget locker since I first had an android phone and have never used anything else because it does the job perfectly. Obviously, it's best feature is the customization available for it. Every few days I'm changing the layout of my lockscreen, just so it's something new

You could try using widget locker combined with minimalistic text integrated with tasker. That might give you what you want.
