Hi, I found there is a black dot when I view the enlarged photos those taken using S3.

Go to market and write "dead pixel" there is a lot of test programs.
"Dead pixel detect and fix" is one of them, try a few and see the result
Dead pixel or someone flushed out from an aeroplane
Uuuuhm guys....
Dead Pixel apps attempt to fix DISPLAY errors. He obviously has an issue with the CAMERA having a dead pixel.
Nor does the kernel have much to say with such issues!
Your only chance is to bring it back and have it replaced or the camera unit swapped (="repaired").
You best bet is to take multiple photos in multiple locations, crop them as you did with the the one attached and show them to the staff so you can convince them.

Airplanes have holding tanks for body wastes. Only the water from the handwashing bassin is AFAIK released into the air on some models.
Well you can never be sure with the russion Antonov's but I guess even they have (or at one point had ) holding tanks.

Omg, seeker. It was a joke
Info:And yes they use tanks but only to a certain height then it is dumped as u flush. As i recall it's at 6k's height they open the flush tunnel..
About pixel you're right, pixel fixer can't help in any way here. If it's the camera at all, u need a camera hw replacement
It might be as easy that there is a spec of dust between the rear plastic cover holding the lens and the camera module? but if it is the camera module have it replaced not fun with a dead pixel
That a dead pixel on the sensor, you could easily clone that out if it bugs you.
Olympus use to do something great in their DSLR camera's for that problem which was called pixel mapping, which basically mapped the sensor looking for dead pixels and automatically clone them out.
As i recall it's at 6k's height they open the flush tunnel..

I don't recall the exit being large enough for anything other than fluid on either the Boeing 747-700 or 747-8.
Are you sure it's not just the water they dump? They can't dump water either below 2km since people would not be very happy about it
However... who would even go to the toilet during take off or landing? It's strictly forbidden and dangerous on all sorts of planes...
And if you're less than 2km above ground in cruise mode, there is definitively something wrong
It might be as easy that there is a spec of dust between the rear plastic cover holding the lens and the camera module?

Dust typically doesn't give a single black pixel. If it's small enough to only cover a single pixel that would be some sort of dark grey, otherwise multiple pixels would show black or distorted colors.
If it's on your cam, best case scenario is that it's just some dust although it might prove a pain to dislodge, worst case it's actually the cam.
Only thing I think you could do is return the phone.

Interestingly enough, I looked into that. The "rear flash pack" the guy is talking about doesnt exist. The static image at the beginning of the phone with the back off is PHOTOSHOPPED to show an LCD on there. Yay, he touched an app on the screen that "turned on the lcd"! I could disassemble an lcd flashlight and tape the contact point, battery and lcd to the back of my phone and duplicate this video. I could even put an icon on my desktop to press too, just to make it look nifty! Notice how nowhere in the video does he show the back of the phone ON video in good light.
Oh, and very interesting that people have been asking the guy for the link for his "rear flash pack" for almost a year and hes given 0 responses.
Theres no proof of concept there. You know how ridiculous a mod like that would be? Not only would you have to have the knowledge of the circuitboards to solder the lcd leads on, but you would also have to know android well enough to know how to activate those specific contact points. Hell, we cant even figure out how to crack the rogers coding yet, what makes you think that someone out there figured all this out?
EDIT: Heres proof:
This is the "picture" from said video.
Increase the image to biggest size and notice the following:
-The LCD holes arent round.
-The LCD holes are PIXELATED
-The LCD holes are drilled right through a flimsy metal clip under the battery door. Look at it on YOUR phone and tell me how thats possible without the clip breaking into pieces and falling off.
-the rim of the LCD holes has obviously had the burn tool in photoshop applied to it (notice how its darker around the edges than any other part of the phone.
Oh, and the coup de grace: THE PICTURE IS AN UNBOXING PHOTO FROM THE PHONE'S RELEASE LAST SEPTEMBER. You can see the G1 box and all of the box contents on the floor right under the phone!
Well.. that brings us back to square one, ill bust out my nikon as soon as I get my phone up and running again, ran into some minor (i mean major) technical difficulties.

Have you tried cleaning the lens first? A dirty lens can easily blur sections of the photo. I'm at work and on mobile so it's a little difficult to see in detail how the blurring is.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
looks normal, whats wrong with the photos?
Taking another look on a monitor, I do see some things but unfortunately it's the software (most likely). What you're expecting is sharp photos, right? Who wouldn't? Well, the Evo 3D compresses the photos pretty significantly. There is/was an apk of the HTC Amaze camera floating around the GSM dev thread you can try. I'd recommend the apk to install vs the zip to flash so you can easily remove it. There's no compression with that one.
Could you take a picture of maybe a table, wall with some texture. I kind of see what you are talking about but cannot be for certain with the pictures posted. Are you seeing that in the first picture, the boats and the bottom of the light pole are a little blurry and on the 2nd picture, you are seeing the trees on the left blurry? If you could get a pretty solid object to take a picture of, it would make it easy to see.
I didnt had any colored textures around, so I used two pieces of paper with text on it.
1st - Right paper was focused in middle (Used light)

I used stock camera and stock kernel I always make sure my lens are clean and have at it with the right light.... I also never photo shop any of my pics I took lol.. I like the camera on the 3D just the 5mp takes great shots..
3D is kinda a gimmick not so much a fan of it but still like it...
That last pic is when a tornado was getting ready to touch down ....
I am on Fresh ROM by Flipz
So final solution is to send it on warranty?
Sending it back may mean you get hboot 1.5 if you don't already. I didn't see that much wrong but check for dirt or scratches on the lens as mentioned before. It could also be a hint of depth of field if its only affecting portions of the image. That's not likely with our lens, but it is possible. Macro photos with this camera have depth of field very obvious.
Iv'e clenead my lens, they are like "baby's ass" but I dont notice it on videos or 3D photos, only on 2D photos I notice that focus problems.... while on videos there is no such problem...
Please advice

I have no idea how this happened 5 minutes ago I was playing draw something on the tablet then I closed it did a few things and when I come back to it I have a large horizontal line going across the screen and a small ink splotch on the bottom of the horizontal line. I can't take a screen shot of it. The picture comes out fine. Can someone plz tell me if this is a hardware or software issue and how to handle it. I bought the prime in Feb so I don't know if I'm under warranty or not. Plz help this is extremely upsetting.

If you reboot and the problem is there during the splash screen, then I'd say hardware.

I guess its hardware but how could this happen maybe too ,much pressure in that area? How much/little pressure could cause this. Its even in a roocase. Will Asus fix it if I complain about this with GPS issues?

look what I found:

so sapphire isnt that good at all, yes?
one possible reason probably is that i am always fingering the volume up button. im using the international version btw where the lens an dthe button is flat and too close to each other. this is a flaw to the design. but it's sapphire it shouldnt crack like that.

the point is, for a high end phone with camera lens that cracks on a normal day to day use is not good LG should look into this. If it is heat related, then definitely they should all recall the unit and replace the international version with the Verizon's version. My nokia is still alive after 10+ landings on hard floor.
Well of course it can brake. Everything brakes. The main point of sapphire on lens glass as I believe is that it is very scratch resistant.

One case out of thousands and thousands will not cause a company to look into anything. It might have just had a defect.

Impact break. Left side.
And this crack is from a normal day to day use?...
Not in my opinion. That is definitely not a flaw or internal pressure break. Something hit it, pressed very hard on that one area, or focused pressure on that area.
Its always in my pocket. Probably twisted because sometime when i talk the nillkin case off it sounded like its gonna snap. Lg support in ph wont cover it though. I guess im gonna pay to have the glass replaced. But i can live with this becausd image wuality is not aggected. It just looks ugly.
They are right for not covering it. It is visually end user fault. Can't be to expensive to get it replaced.
I keep my phone super clean and always protected. Yet, unlucky me, I got dust on the camera sensor. Last week a dark spot started to show on my photos.. it usually shows when the background is something bright like sky.
I guess I need to take it apart and spray some compressed air on the camera but I was wondering if I need to really open the camera module..
Thanks
Is dust on camera lens or camera module ? It's very easy to open phone and clean camera lens, but with cam module I don't know

I honestly don't know.. I can't really see it with my eyes, just the stain in the photos.
I guess I'll need to open the phone anyway to get to the camera module and lens, but I'm not sure if it's on the lens or the sensor..
From my experience with DSLRs, it looks identical to dust on sensor..which is kinda hard to get to here.
Frustrated.. the camera was 95% of my decision to get the G5.
Just two days ago I noticed the same thing. My educated guess is that it really is inside the lens as it moves while focusing. This movement sucks in dust particles from the inside of the phone. Due to the very large gap between the "default module" and the body of the phone the inside of the phone gets very dusty.
I got the feeling that this is a bad case of "design/engineering problem" where the implications of one design decision were not taken into account for other components.
I fixed it! Opened the phone (pretty easy if I might add, just look for youtube videos), sprayed the camera module with a compressed air can and walla.. All good now
I have same problem with one of the rear camera lens. I don't have any tools to open the phone. What can I use?

Just kidding. Use a Philips #00 screwdriver to unscrew the two screws you'll see inside the phone with the bottom removed. Then the display can be popped up revealing the rest of the internals.
I know yes but I don't have the tools to remove display. I'm afraid to use a credit card not to scratch the phone...
