Hello. My friend is trying to update from 2.3.5 to ics. It downloads it trough ota and then reboots to install. Then at 10% it just restarts and nothing updated. So we tried with Kies.
Still didn't work, so we did a factory reset and tried again. Same problem..
Any tips?

if factory reset won't fix it, then try flashing a stock firmware from sammobile.com, but you have to have an account there first to be able to download. after the download, you can flash the firmware via odin.
I hope this helps cheers!

Had the same issue on the wife's phone.
Wiped delvic cache, formatted system folder, reinstalled omega v27, worked like a charm.
No issues since.
However I did bump her phone up to v27.1 since then, still no issues though

I haven't tried a factory reset yet as I am sure that will fix it but I was looking for a solution without doing that.. I have frozen few system apps that could be a reason.. Anyways since I am on v27,I will update to v27.1 via full wipe.. But still I would like to know what caused that.. Thanks for your replies..

If you want a better solution, then try posting thos in the omega thread. That might help.

Please give more details like what android version and kernel you were using. And from your signature are you using S1?

Try Odin happen to me once PC didn't recognize but Odin still did. Go to stickies section in Sgs2 section find stock ROM flash after I plugged in to kies and it did the rest. This method worked for me twice when all I had was a flickering black screen. Hope it works with U. Try to put into download mode three bottom press. PM if U need more help.

Guessing that you have hard bricked the phone, due to doing wipe on stock rom.
Not much you can do, a new motherboard is required
Can you enter download mode?
Download mode is entered by Volume Down + Home + Power pressed simultaneously when your phone is off.
Sounds like your motherboard is toast. you got warrenty? maybe theres hope
nope
no compassion at all.
If you had read just a little bit about rooting / flashing, you would have known that you should not do a CWM factory reset on stock 4.0.4 rom.
Just like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756242
and here:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/hard-brick-bug-on-galaxy-s-ii-and-note-leaked-ics-kernels/
...and so on.
I guess you have to tell your friend that you ruined his phone
Hi guys, i'm trying to restore my S3 to stock so I can sell it, however after trying to use Odin around 5 times to install stock frimware, I either end up in a boot loop or constant boot-up. I've tried 3 different versions of Odin and still no luck. It passes every time.
Any idea's anyone? I did notice I only ever have one file to put into Odin, which is a PDA compatible file, none of the others. I'm not sure if this is just due to bad downloads or what.
Any ideas anyone?

Sorry for the noob question but I recently rooted my mega i9152 and installed twrp recovery now when I go into setting check for system update nothing happens is it because of root?? I unrooted my phone and tried it again but still nothing happened any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!
You will have to wait. The systme update was announced like 15 mins ago but different regions will get it first.

Im 90% sure that you can't update it when your rooted. You will have to unroot.
Sent from my GT-I9200 using Tapatalk
Unroot won't help cause phone remembers that phone has been rooted before. You must reflash stock rom through odin.

Sorry I accidentally worded my awnser wrong lol. You will have to flash stock firmware to be able to update. I did it with my Mega and I still got updates.

I got the S3 with Revoulution HD S5 (smartdroid) ROM with boeffla kernel.
Lately ive been getting random freezes just in the middle of doing nothing with my phone, it just freezes and then goes to reboot, while its trying to reboot it bootloops. With that i mean its trying to reboot then screen goes black and then it tries to reboot again.. Then i have to pull the battery out and insert it again and it works (for some time.)
So my question is how can i fix this and what is the problem? Ive read some posts saying that it could be the firmware? Well i have read alot of other posts but never really find any good soulution so please HELP!

both. The phone is working from time to time... Its just the freezes/reboots that are creeping me out..
Flash the latest official stock rom with odin, factory reset then test before you install or restore anything.

Yeah, found it. Going completely stock now, without root also. Just going to try out the stock a while and see if it works. Then preferbly root and flash a custom rom again! Thanks.

i unrooted/went back to stock, then i rooted and flashed a new rom. Everything without a problem. I have only got 1 random reboot so far.. more suggestions??
If it still freezes and reboots on stock then you have bad memory blocks in your nand memory.

Change your Kernel. I am using Revolution S5 without any issue. Better install LiteGX kernel. Do not play with Kernel if your knowledge is less. LiteGX is just a plug & play Kernel.
I got the same issue.
I´m on it. I will try latest official. You should check if your emmc chip is possible broken. Just load the app emmc check and google about "SDS S3"
I´ll post a solution if i can get it solved.
Greetings Dumbass
