Hey, I have a very simple question, hopefully somebody will anwser it. On my SGS3 I can add a sync account "Server". Does somebody know what kind of server I can use for this?
The settings are "profile name", "sync category" (Contacts and Calendar), "sync type" and "sync server" (url with login and password). I didn't find something in the manual or with google.
I can't seem to find the sync called server. Which gs3 do you have? Your talking about settings > accounts and sync right?

Yes I'm talking about "settings > accounts and sync". I made some pictures. The phone is a GT-I9300, T-Mobile, German.

So I just noticed that whenever I add a new contact its not being synced and added to my Google contacts .. whenever I added a contact on my nexus it automatically added it to Google contacts. How come it doesnt on the tbolt?

I am seeing the same thing... My droid always uploaded everything and now my Thunderbolt doesn't. The Apps don't go to the Cloud either. It says when I setup the google account that it's going to sync but I don't see it doing anything. I reformat nothing comes back....

Seems there's often a delay between the syncing of Google and my backup.
Sometimes when flashing roms ill get all my contacts at once other times it seems to take awhile.
Best option is to export your contacts to sdcard occasionally.

Well that's dumb. Does anyone have a solution?

I noticed this too. Not sure why this is happening. Maybe the GB build does not have the Google sync functionality working properly?

I suggested a solution, export contacts to sdcard.

That kind of defeats the purpose of an android phone then.. its made so everything is synced with google regardless of which device you are using
Hm, im not using a GB build, im using perfect storm weird

I was having this issue as well, and read about it somewhere on here.
Google.com/contacts is your friend. Use it.
If you input a contact, via the phone, make sure you change it from a "phone" contact to a "Google" contact.
Problem solved. ;-)

Ah thanks, for some reason if you add a contact from another app it would default to the "phone" contact option with no option to change to google.
Thanks

Is there a way to make the Google way default?
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace which recently went on Gingerbread.
Now, I have been trying to set up my Yahoo email on the phone. If I go to "Email"; I get an option to only download emails from Inbox, Drafts and Sent Items.
I have created a lot of folders in the email account so I'd like to have those on the phone as well. How do I do that.
I would rather prefer not using the Yahoo Mail App as that is very slow.
Anyone?
Is there any way I can have the entire Yahoo Email (along with folder I have created) on the phone or would I have to install the Yahoo Mail app?

Update: it seems that POP mail won't sync folders, where as IMAP mails do. Try setting up the mail as IMAP. Try this:

Have you checked your team doesnt have an option for you to put there fixtures in a calendar app? Arsenal FC have this option so every season u just grab the url and put it in google calendar.

S planner is linked to google calendar , well mine is as i use my google acct on my phone if your logged in with another email acct you can still add calendars in s planner
following steps if your logged into a google email on your phone:-
open Splanner - then settings - then calendars(at this point any calendars you have on google calendar will show and u can select which ones for splanner to show)

I went back to 4.1.2 recently and while I was trying to do the google setup I noticed I forgot to flash the at&t modems so my wifi wasn't working, I went back to flash it and when I reboot my google setup had been complete only with no restore on anything, I think I lost all my contacts no apps, but maybe if I can restart google setup I can restore them?anyone know how without reflash?
I can't remove it in accounts and sync

I don't know if this is why, but it appears Google is having sync issues right now.

Can you see your contacts if you sign in to Google on a PC? You said you can't remove the account in Accounts & Sync? Why not? Does it give you some sort of error?

Good question, but at least you know they aren't lost. I would try to find out why you can't remove that account. If you could remove it, then add it back, they should sync. If all else fails, you could reflash.

Thanks gor the reply.
As far as I know the above method will add a phole google account. But how to add just another gmail account to the gmail app 4.6. As I remember old gmail apps had an "add account" option.
