Which Rom do you prefer and why!!!!! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello peeps,
Virgin flasher here and need some help or opinions.
I know I should probably just flash the roms and try them out myself but want to get an overall consensus on what you guys think
before I try them out myself.
Out of the following 3 roms, which do you prefer and why?
Omega
Rgui
Checkrom

Yes. Omega is nice. I have tried CheckRom, CM9, AOKP. If you like pure Android experience you can try either CM9 or AOKP, else you can flash Omega, it has a lot of mods from its kitchen. The only downside of Omega is the CSC is only based on Europe.

I would go for Omega, Foxhound or RGUI. RGUI`s dev gh.rohit is very commited, builds good rom`s and is very helpfull, if he can help you he will.
But it`s best to try out for yourself, everyone has his favs.

Fox Hound SUPER stable....
Im liking RGUI MiUi V2 right now though. Great Dev and Rom!!!

Closed, rom comparison or "best" rom threads are highly discouraged on XDA, as one person's favorite rom, might be another's least favorite.
Everyone has different needs, flash the roms and find out yourself.

[Q] Best ROM for SGS II?

I'm looking for a ROM for my i9100. I'm growing tired of MIUI (original and galnet) bugs. I'd prefer the one that has TW4 on it. I love CyanogenMod's options, but I prefer TW4 over Android stock.
Any suggestions?
Try Leomar Revolution
i try all rom and it's the best for me
Tw can't be the only thing you need there must be more
Try OMEGA ROM
Try ForumSearch ROM v6.9. It's the best I've used so far. There's also AH_WhoCantSearch ROM, but I wouldn't recommend it, it's really unpopular.

with criskelo everythings running smooth
but honestly i dont really like the theme..

Choosing between some ICS Roms

So i want to know your opinion between these ICS Roms:
1. Cyanogen Mod 9.
2. FOXHOUND 0.2 Cyano+Aokp
3. Slim ICS
I can't decide between these 3 Custom Roms, what is the fastest, what's the "cleaniest" and if they support Siyah Kernel.

This is a Poll, and i didn't say what is the best Rom from here without knowing any names, just wanted a comparation between these 3.
I think that this belongs to Q&A section, but I'll answer I think that you should try CM9 first.. It's really clean and fast! Then you could give a chance to the others: had a shot to both roms and they are really good but MAYBE not as clean as CM9.. I say MAYBE because I'm not so expert As an alternative to CM9 I suggest ParanoidAndroid, that is based on CM9 and comes with Siyah.. This great rom is wisely supported and adds some more features to stock CM9(such as the tablet mode fully working and other fantastic features that provide you the best android experience!)
Hope it helped

Pretty simple to read 3 threads and see what the difference is and by the time enough people voted and gave their opinion for your poll to be significant, you could nandroid and try all the ROMs yourself.

Try Resurrection remix 2.6.1. Based on ICS and stable as a rock. I'm pretty new myself and been using it for a while.Easy to install and no issues whatsoever. :good:
First of all, are you sure you have an i9100 and not an i9100G, a skyrocket (AT&T or Rogers), a Galaxy S2 LTE HD, etc?
If you do have an i9100, this is the forum for you. If not, try and find your right forum...
I'd look in the SGS2 android dev forums and not the Original Android Dev forums. Alot of cooks have ROMs with SGS3-like themes... And there's possibly a touchwiz5 mod in the themes section. I know the ripple lockscreen was ported too...
To be honest, alot of ROMs exist but it's a question of taste... I know Resurrection remix is a popular one. Alot of people switched to Cyanogenmod when ICS hit though, as ICS wasn't up to par for Samsung's implementation...
Your best bet is to flash a custom kernel with CWM recovery in Odin (Alot of guides to do this) like CF-Root and then grab ROMs and flash them through CWM. If you want a kernel that's able to dual boot, you can use DreamKernel, Siyah, etc. That way you can get one ROM going and test a second ROM as a secondary. Dual booting can be achieved because we have a 500MB partition on our phones that isn't used for anything... Fun, is it not?
And The other rom is pfittech ics rom and is also stable and he is working on stable jb rom as among other devs

I think i'll wait untill a port of the new JB update for the S3 gets ported
I've always used Slim ICS, very light weight and customizable.

I'd go with rootbox. Just because the dev updates more frequently does not mean it's a better rom. The ones who don't update frequently just mean they don't have bugs to fix...

Best rom based on cm9?

Can anyone tell me some good roms based on cm9? I want to downgrade as cm10 has some bugs that annoy me, but I can't find which roms are the most popular.

If u don't mind aokp roms which are stable too Use RootBox 1.8 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696419
You'd have to do the hard hours going through the forums for the best ROM that'd suit you mate. Asking for a best rom is against the community rules. Go through Gabowinter's index for a convenient listing of all ICS roms and take your pick.
Search, read and try them out yourself.

I thinked CM but it's currently oj nightlyes builds and has a lot of entendible bugs.. f4k mod didn't lime me, i hear omega.. but what is the more "stable", "quicker," mod possible? My idea is install a good mod and install tons of apps and games with no problems.. thanks in advance and please sory my english i'm argentinian.. .
Omega 100% stable and the developer indie doesn't stop. Always updated to the latest firmware. Also a lot of theme support on the thread. Check out motomoto theme its a beauty.

they're called ROMs, not mods, and asking for the best ROM is against the rules

eclair, froyo, ics, etc are versions.
cm, darky, criskelo, omega are all roms that are modded. mods on the other hand are specific changes that do not include the whole rom with it. it depends on having a rom as a base to install onto.
stuff like removing charging notifications or add camera functionality are mods. the ability to add any app to multi Window is a mod, but cm, darky, omega etc are ROMs. they're completely independant and does not require a flashing of another rom as a base.
and yes, you are asking for what the best rom is. the fact is, you'll have to just try different roms and see which one suites your need. check the all in one sticky thread for a link to another thread that categorizes roms based on what concept of android they're going for (stock, aosp, aokp, sense, etc etc).
all of these roms are very well documented and they explain what their rom was built for.
