Headphones and phone calls - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

I have a Sprint Galaxy S3 and I have a pair of headphones with a mic. When I have the headphones plugged in and trying to make a phone call, the call audio plays through the phones speakers and not the headphones. When the call is over and the headphones are still plugged in the headphones no longer play audio. Audio plays through the phones speaker. I have to unplug and plug the head phones back in.
Anyone have this same problem ?

Its very strange but the only headphones I have found that work perfectly with the S3 are the included ones. I also have Ultimate Ears and Sure headphones with mics but they dont play well with the S3.
Have you tried the included ones? This does not solve your problem but out of curiosity.

Aria sound quality through headphones really bad

I don't understand why my headphones sound amazing when connected to a computer or my ipod, but when it's playing the music on my aria it sucks. I'm not asking to make my phone louder or my speakers louder or anything. I just want to know why it sounds so bad connected to my headphones
Does it happen with any headphones or just that one pair of headphones?
Have you tried cleaning out the headphone jack on the phone? (i.e., check for any lint or anything stuck inside and pull out with tweezers)

V-Moda headphones not recognised

My friend has an iPhone and he uses V-Moda headphones and when I bought this phone, he wanted to see the output and connected the headphones to XPS and it doesn't recognize the headphones even though its 3.5mm and on the top the music plays through the speaker in the back.
I have checked the headphones with several other phones like HTC and Nokia they are working fine.
Does anyone know why and how to use these on XPS?
If there are any good headphones for XPS, please suggest.
The ones provided are cheap and sound is poor.
Well i have some kind of 'issue' with this too.
When i connect any headphones other than the stock ones that came with it, it doesn't show up in the notification bar (no headphone icon is appearing).
However, the headphones are working perfectly fine.
The problem i have isn't such a big deal, because they are working anyway.
I reckon any 3.5mm headphones should work, i have no idea what could possibly cause your problem.
I use skullcandy's on it btw, but they are just cheap headphones with bad sound quality

Headphones "disconnected" when trying to make a call.

Hello.
I just got Skullcandy FIX Bud headphones. After plugging them in everything seems to work, I can listen music, hear ringtones. However after first attempt make a phone call, SGS3 starts acting like no headphones are connected, all sounds being routed through normal speaker or speakerphone. I have to unplug the headphones and plug them back in to restore the sound.
Have anyone experienced anything like this?
Faulty headphones or something wrong with the phone?
P.S.
I've tested two other headphones I have (one is a fake Skullcandy FIX Bud, another some Panasonic from RadioShack), both of them working fine with no issues...

[Q] Wired Headsets Stopped Working -- Help!

Hopefully someone can help me here -- I haven't been able to find an answer to my problem even with several google and forum searches.
A few days ago, my AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 stopped working with wired headsets, but headphones still work. When I plug in a pair of headphones (2 stripes on the miniplug), I get balanced, stereo sound.
However, when I plug in a headset with mic (3 bands on the plug), I get no sound even though the phone acts like it is playing sound. I've tried different audio apps, headphones, and headsets, and the problem stays constant. Each headphone / headset also works on other audio sources.
I am AT&T's version of 4.1.1, kernel version 3.0.31-274808, and do not think any updates have been downloaded recently.
Any ideas what could be causing this issue? I used to have a headset plugged in for most of the day, and miss the remote and phone mic features a lot.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
TLDR: Wired headphones work on GSIII, but wired headsets give no sound. Help!

[Q] SII Microphone when connected to car stereo

My wife and I share a car which does not have bluetooth. To make use of hands free we have a cradle and a cable which connects the headphone socket to the input on the car stereo. Conversations are then heard through the car speakers and the phone microphone picks up our voices.
I have an HTC One X and this works fine for me.
My wife has a Samsung SII but when she tries the same setup the microphone seems to be unable to pick up her voice at a reasonable volume - she sounds very quiet and partially muted. I had a look and couldn't find any microphone settings in the OS. I did experiment with a couple of calls and found:
1. With the phone speaker disabled the microphone doesn't pick up very well and the person at the other end of the phone struggles to hear. The sound in the car from the other person is great - via the car stereo.
2. With the phone speaker enabled the microphone work really well and the other person can hear perfectly BUT the sound in the car is directed through the phone speaker and NOT the car stereo.
I checked with my HTC and all I have to do is plug it in and it works perfectly.
Any suggestions as to why this happens with the SII and what I can do about it?

How do you exactly connect the phones to the car?
via Cable or via bluetooth?
If I connect my SII to my car, the microphone of my car is used and my phone only works as transmitter between the phone cell and the car speaker/microphone.
The car does not have Bluetooth, we use a cable.
