So what settings do you have when you go into Settings-Security? Screen lock is the first option on my phone.
Can you see screen lock but not set it to anything?

Check for a /efs/imei/keystr file. You'll need root. If it doesn't exist, you'll need to create it, containing the word "ON".

Dear all,
today I have suddenly problems with my xperia mini.
The problems I had:
- On the bottom part of home screen when I shift from left to right usually the phone gets unlocked.
- Now I try to unlock the phone.
- But it is only possible to pull the unlock symbol to the half part of the screen.
That means it is not possible to unlock the phone.
I remove the battery and switch on the phone.
However the same thing happens again.
Sometime I manage to unlock the phone for just for 1/2 sec. I see the numbers to type in the PIN code but suddenly the screen disappears; meaning it is again locked
Any idea?
Does it sound like a hardware or software problem?
If software problem can a hardware reset (how to do?) help?
Thx
Do you manage to swipe from right to left?

I managed it only once or twice. But afterwards for just 1/2 second see the numbers for type in the pin code. But after this 1/2 second the device automatically gets locked.

although using android for 2 years, I never changed the original system of a device. Therefore that means it would be the 1st time.
Any idea if Android 4 would help?
thx

If overheating is the problem and is confirmed.. - Issue is simple.. but android 4 wil nt help u...
Root ur mobile n run the script as mentiond above..
If u dont want to risk, then just go to ur nearest sony service centre n ask them.. they wil just calibrate ur touchscreen..

What's did you mean by you can't lock the phone?
Were you trying to say that "your lockscreen is missing even after flashing so many ROMs"?

what I meant is that the phone is not locked to squeeze the lock button to turn off the screen and turn it back precionar but does not leave the lock screen, I have tried placing it in pattern but still the same .. and if I let down the lock button turns off quickly without leaving the box if you want to restart etc

I think he's saying that when pressing the power button to lock, then unlock, the lockscreen doesn't come up, but just unlocks the phone, and when he long presses power, it just shuts off the phone instead of presenting the power button menu.
OP, am I right?
If so, then you need to root your phone, create a file in /efs/imei called keystr, that contains the word ON, and set its permissions to rw-r--r--. There are a few different ways to do this.

If you are using a custom rom like cm I got rid of that problem when I flashed gapps.zip.
Edit : You haven't rooted huh? It's easy just like flashing a stock rom, just search, there are several guides regarding this matter.
Using GT - I9100
I thank those who give helpful comments
I expect the same from others.

Hello,
First, I wanna say thank you for the work you out on your BluRom V6.
I was surprised how great it looks. Congratz....
Anyway, I am having a little problem because the screen lock does not work.
I go to settings>security>screen lock>pattern. I draw my pattern and confirm it then it ask for a password I do it twice . After the screen turns off i wait and when i go use the phone the screen is not locked. Noone of the locks work.
Please help.
My Galaxy S2 I9100 is rooted
Thanks

I'm not Blur75, but this is usually due to a missing /efs/imei/keystr file. I'm guessing that BluRom is a pre-rooted ROM? If so, then you can fix this.
Check to see if you have that file. (/efs/imei/keystr) If not, create it, and have it contain the word ON. There are several different methods of doing this.
Hello there.
So, I flashed the I9100XWLQ2 ICS rom to my gf´s phone. The installation was successful, the problem is that now the phone can not recieve or make any phone calls.
Do I need to change the CSC thing as the original thread says, with the app (have not done it yet because I don`t know which is the CSC code from Perú)?
There is an image with information in front of my wallpaper that can not be removed:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I rebooted the phone and the image sticked in the wallpaper changed:

Thanks for your answer.
I don't know how but after 2 or 3 reboots and a couple of hours I can now make and receive phone calls, but the thing in the display is still there.
The IMEI seems to be fine, not really sure if it matches the one on the back of the battery because it was erased by the previous owner of the phone I guess.
Oh, the link seems to be very useful, there is no lockscreen and power button menu as well, I'll try it out.
Is this the safest way to root the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719 ?

I followed the steps to root the phone, the CWM showed up, I was able to scroll up and down, but when I tried to select the " install zip from sdcard" option nothing happened, then I tried a few times the "Reboot now" option and an error appeared. I pressed the Power button for a second and the phone rebooted.
Should I try to flash a rooted kernel or try a different ICS rom? Which one are you using?

The first thing you have to do is to go to the app drawer and open an application called Samsung Retail.
Go to Configuration Settings and enter code 544 to unlock it. If this code do not work, try 5444
Uncheck Disable the factory reset and enter the following password to confirm it: M729Q16K8546..
Turn the phone off and press the volume up, power and home buttons at the same time to boot into recovery.
Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache.
Then reboot.
However if its an LDU then im pretty sure the antenna and sim card slot will have been removed.

Ok Sir but the problem is i cant open the device.. it has fingerprint password, i didnt know the password even the back up password. I tried to restore it by holding power button, volume up and camera but still it wont work since the factory reset was disabled by the retail mode.
