Hey guys im running faux's enhanced stock kernel on DarkSide v2.1 and I was wondering how I can undervolt it?

Just download setcpu and then go to voltages and set them to how you want
To give you an idea of what settings people usually use, some people posted their working settings in this forum

I just discovered for myself the CPU utility shows max CPU frequency as 1188MHZ. Is there something wrong with my CPU or is it ROM Toolbox's fault?
Thanks!

I use ROM toolbox a well for many thing including cpu speed... For me I'm can go all the way to 1.89 ghz.... Have you governed the cpu elsewhere? Also what ROM u using? I'm on aokp

the max that the rom toolbox sliders will go depends on the kernel you are using. Run and oc kernel and you can safely run at 1.86.

Did u set the cpu in rom toolbox and settings/performance/cpu? If u set both depending on the rom/kernel ya might have some weirdness.
Been using rom toolbox for almost a year, or whenever sasibob did her review on the main portal. The apps solid.

Thanks for your responses, guys. I was on Gingerbread stock. Now I'm on ICS stock and it goes all the way to 1500. Pardon my ignorance, what's oc kernel?
Overclockable...
Meaning there would be options higher than 1.5 .. And the frequency options would depend on the modules put in by the dev
Hi everyone,
I'm really really sorry for asking a seemingly stupid question like this, but I browsed the forum and asked google to no avail:
How do I activate/enable the smartAssV2 governor (or any others for that matter)? SetCPU or CPU Master show only 4 governors, I think those are the default ones. But if I'm not mistaken, the other govenors (looking for smartassv2 myself) should be included in CM9, right? I have a rooted SGS2 and the CM9 "final" installed. Didn't find the govenors on my SGS+ either, but didn't think too much about it.
I also tried downloading the governor and installing it in CWM, but that just gave me an error...
hope somebody can help....
Different kernels have different governors. Try looking through some kernel threads to see which ones have the governors you need. Siyah has SmartassV2, amongst many others.

stupid question?? Wasn't this should be in Q & A section??

LOL I was asking OP
Well, at first I was using the stock CM9 kernel (which should have the smartassv2 governor I think), now I'm using the Fluxi kernel (which also has the governor, according to the description) - but with neither of these kernels I can select anything else than "interactive", "conservative", "ondemand" and "performance"...
Oh, and btw, I already looked in lib/modules, and there is no module for smartassV2 - but then again, maybe it is compiled into the kernel? how can I check this?
I think this is something really simple that I missed, but all the tutorials also just say "install CM9, select smartassV2 as governor..." so I'm assuming it should just be there?
Installed the Dorimax kernel, now I have other governors...which is OK, but I'm still confused as to why no other governors showed for the CM9 kernel. I can live with this "solution" though.
I too face a similar problem. I flashed siyah kernel in my sgs2 and couldn't find smartassv2 governor. I tried setcpu, no frills cpu and even stweaks. I have all other governors like lulzactive and hotplug but no smartassv2. Is there a way to find it? This is driving me crazy for days.
Sorry if i posted in wrong section but this thread was related.
Thanks in advance.
Hello all, i have a question, i am using the Phenomenal 3.0 normal version kernel and is using SETCPU apps to manage my CPU speed. However, when i try to set the speed to 1100mhz and above, the CPU speed does not go up to 1100mhz and above, instead it always stay at 1000mhz.
Has anyone experinece this before? if yes, has anyone any steps to resolve this?
Could it be the undervolt issue that is preventing me for going up to 1100mhz?
Thanks.
Looking at the thread it doesn't look like the kernel has overclock capabilities,

I am not trying to overclock, just trying to go to 1400mhz at times but i just cant go past 1000mhz, only when i restart the phone, then it will go to 1400 at times...
seem like i have solve the problem by untick the cpu power saving under the power saving option. However, it seem like the SetCPU apps is useless as i am unable to control the CPU anymore.. is that true? or are there any apps that can overcome this issue?

Have you tried using other apps, instead of SetCPU, or are you running two CPU-manipulation apps at once?
Try clearing SetCPU's data/cache and try again
I personally use AnTuTu CPU Master, but that is a personal choice, I guess

Phenomenal kernel is a ready to use kernel. You cannot change any settings here in this kernel. It's not like any other kernel wherein gives you the ability to configure the cpu and gpu. Setcpu will only work with other kernels such as SiyahKernel. This will give you the ability to set the cpu and gpu freq and voltage. The power saving mode limits the power of your cpu, thus disabling it will increase cpu freq

No u need a kernel with cpu freq altering capability integrated. Siyah kernel has this I know

I use Tegrak Overclock on stock rooted ROMs. It goes to 1.6Ghz. Works perfectly.

Nope. Stock kernel will not allow you to change it. If you're on stock ics rom, i would suggest you use siyah kernel v1.5.2. I'm once a user of it. If you need a guide in underclocking and undervolting, you can find the best guide here posted by bala_gamer. You can also settings in his signature which you can use.

Yes sir I know. But I just want to give other options. So that he can choose which is good for him. He can overclock upto 1800mhz in siyah kernel. But afaik, he is more on overclocking with undervolting to have performance and battery life.

Thank you all for your good advise... now i know why i cant set my CPU speed due to kernel.
Will look into trying other kernel if i really like to control my CPU.

Nope. Pretty straightforward and it's been around for a while now. Used it with my Galaxy S II as well.

And you are very right!!!!! Doesnt matter what app you use u cant overclock on stock kernel!!!! Stock kernel doesnt have the provision for that. And if members who send links read those links properly before they send them they will realise that you need a kernel that supports overclocking like siyah!!!!!!!!!!!! Stock kernel doesnt.

You need to actually go look at the Tegrak app before you start typing....
Why is gpu overclock at 476mhz and it doesn't affect performance and causing too much lag after activating it? I think its better to overclock it at 357mhz only.

You flashed Kash Kernel !! Right ??
Overclocking is enabled by default in this kernel.... If overclocking is causing lag then flash default GPU modules given in the OP of this kernel's thread !!

But it doesn't have any effect. Can't feel the gpu at @476mhz. It just like overclocking a Nexus 5 cpu at 3ghz is non sense after all. Im just wondering why is it @476mhz would it be the highest frequency possible of a powervrsgx544 at safe is @357mhz you can found it at mt6589t chipsets. Yes im pertaining to kash kernel, so if it is on default modules the frequency is also on default @286mhz because in the kash kernel thread the author said if the gpu overclock causes lag then flash the default modules therefore the overclock is remove and reverted back to the original frequency. And also you can see that there is a separate zip for activating the gpu @476mhz, so think overclocking it at 476mhz is useless because it causes lag, and flashing the default modules will remove the lag and also the overclock. And the last but not the least sir, the 476mhz frequency is not enabled by default it is written in the thread sir. But if you don't believe me sir, kindly teach me how to replace ramdisk.
