The pictures in my gallery are appearing in reverse order, meaning the most recent pictures are to the far left, and older ones to the far right. Am I the only one experiencing this, or is this the default order in the Gallery app? This is driving me crazy that I can't see the photos in the correct order.
That how it is, you can download quick pick if you want I like it better the more recent in the far left personally

it might be a default, mine is also like that
Thank you guys for the responses.

Maybe I'm the only one who prefers my apps show up in List View rather than the Apple-like grid view. It makes it easier for me to find things.
I noticed that it keeps going back to Grid View after a while. Anyone else seeing this? Any idea how to make this change permanent?
Ive also noticed this, rather annoying.
Ok, deal breaker! Going to a non-Samsung ROM as soon as I can. MIUI or CM7, here I come (When It's Done (tm)).
Hmm... I'm on KG1 ROM now, and it seems to be fixed!
I much prefer grid view but im surprised that when you select list view it wont stay at that!
hi guys, i just found out that if i grouped all my apps into folders, and put them into single page of application page. I won't be able to see them in grid view unless i select list view or put those folders in 2 separate pages. Is this a bug or something? How can i fix this?
Is there any way to change the camera photos to "newest first"? Right now my newer pictures are at the bottom and it takes a while to scroll down
Has anyone tried this, seems to be the for Nexus One though? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804161
+1 this drives me insane. i have a ton of pics and having to scroll through all of them to see my latest is just stupid
Try QuickPic

Says you have to flash it... How could anyone try it? Or am I completely oblivious and we have S-off?
From the 3rd dimension in wireless...

It's in the market too but it won't display pics in 3d
I hate this problem too, a workaround is to open the camera app and click the preview box in the corner. That will allow you to view the most recently taken pictures first, and when you switch to grid view it will start at the bottom.
Did you know that, when scrolling through the photos, there is a function similar to what you get in the addressbook (People)? Once you start scrolling and the little scrubber/scroll bar appears, grab it and move it manually. It'll allow you to fly through the images in a second. As you're doing so, it'll even give you a pop up of the date of the photos where you'd be if you stopped scrolling. I hope that helps.
I think the other annoying thing I've seen in every Android phone (or not seen) is the ability to choose a folder before/as you're taking photos where it will save to. On top of this I don't like the HTC photo numbering scheme (image sequence) instead of time stamp as a name. I prefer the time stamp as you don't have to worry about duplicates, repeats, or conflicting names when moving and shuffling photos from phone to phone or computer for backup.
I'm looking for a photo app that lets me crop the photo. I have PicSay, which I like a lot because I can annotate the photo. I also have PicPlz. I can't find a way to crop the photo in either of these. Seems pretty basic to me to have cropping, but I can't find it.
When I search the marketplace for Photo I get 12,000 results. I'm sure I can find an app in there that will crop the photo but after reading the description of two dozen apps none of them mention anything about cropping. I guess I could just start downloading them and trying them out one by one but that could get old pretty fast.
So, I've come to you for your advice.

Try Adobe Photoshop Express
What's wrong with the stock Samsung 'Photo editor' app? Have you tried it? Very easy to crop and save images.
TouchUp in the market
Try unique pic or the samsung app that'd included.
sent from the drivers seat, yup texting while driving
Hey there, don't post often but I have been having an issue with my i777 and GT-N7000 where pics taken in portrait will be turned sideways when sent via MMS. I have dinked around with it a lot in the last couple days and found a decent solution. Its a 3part fix that needs 3 apps. First download the new Handcent 4.0 (maybe other text apps will work, handcent is just what I am using) then get Camera Zoom FX, and Lightbox. With these three apps you can get around the problem easily.
First open up Camera Zoom FX, go into settings, and under the "Save" menu, check off "Auto Save" (before doing this, none of the photos I was texting were saved in the gallery) Now open up the Camera +Lightbox app that was included in your Lightbox App download. When prompted, choose "Camera Zoom FX" as your default Camera. Now finally, open up handcent and send a picture text. When asked for the default camera to use, choose "Camera + Lightbox" as your default camera.
All your portrait texts should be sent correctly. I searched all over the web for "sideways MMS" and found lots of questions but no answers. If anyone has something easier please advise, otherwise I hope the info above works as well for you as it did for me!

After I take a pic in portrait mode, I go into my gallery and select the picture I just took. Then I hit menu and select edit then crop. I make sure to fit the whole image inside the crop bars as to not cut off any of the picture. Then save. The picture should save as a new image or edited image. Select the saved image to send as MMS and it should stay in portrait mode. Works for me without the need for extra apps. Hope that helps.

Yep, thanks for that. I knew this was possible if you were texting something already in your gallery. My post was more geared to snapping from Handcent (possibly others) and immediately sending without any additional steps. The info above does nothing for sending a pic already in your gallery and you still have to do the crop trick you suggested to get those to go out correctly. This whole issue is so irritating to me, it can't be that hard for Samsung to fix, surely they know about it?!

It's not samsungs fault, as it works fine on a Samsung based Rom. It's using CM7/9 or AOKP where there is an issue.

That's weird. I only have the issue running MIUI or AOKP.
I'm coming from the LG G3, so the features I'm inquiring about is...
(1) the screen on sensor. It keeps the screen from locking if you're looking at your phone.
(2) The hide folders in the gallery. I have a lot of music and my album art is a eye screenshot I just want to search photo albums I want to open.
(3) The Capture+ was simpler to use. None of this freehand cropping.
Am i missing something here to make it right?
Yeah, I definitely noticed these missing features. I guess they're trying to remove things people may consider ui bloat. Idk

@digitallure point (2) there's a "lock" option to hide them from gallery. Has to be done for each picture, can't do it with folders.

They omitted smart screen from the G4 and V10, probanly something to do with the changes they made to the cameras. You can lock/hide individual files using a pass code. Capture+ was removed since they started using chrome as the default browser.
Dang. I used these features often too. Thanks for the responses
