2 quick vibrations while on a call - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Very rapid vibration, 2 quick ones, every 30 seconds or so. Can't figure out what is causing it. Think it might be unread SMS, but I can't find anyoption to turn it off, so I'm not positive that's it.
Any ideas???

Just made a call, no unread text, no vibrations.
Sent myself a text, then made a call, vibrations at 12 and 32 seconds.
Made another call, no vibrations in 45 seconds.
Made another call, vibrated at 22 and 37 seconds.
I really have no idea what is causing this and its really annoying.

One more update, it spears to be smart alert in motion causing it. Was able to make it happen as often as I wanted by moving the phone from flat to vertical.

Blinking Light notification

I cant figure out why my phone keeps blinking its notification light. Any one have an idea why?
Most likely a rogue app acting up.
ok thanks for the response
If I may add to this topic without creating a new one, how come my blinking light for notifications will stop after about a minute or so? I recieved some texts but didn't know it until I manually turned my screen on. So I sent myself an email, and it blinked for a minute or so, then stopped. Is this normal?
i actually think that is suppose to happen. Ever htc phone i have had has a certain duration of the notification light blinking and then it will turn off. the only phone i have ever had it go on until i checked the notification is my old droid. i was apply to on the galaxy nexus, but had to use an app to make it work. Light flow is the app

It's actually 5 minutes I think, at least on my phone it is. It is my biggest complaint with Sense and why I switched to cyanogenmod on my evo shift. It would be the one reason I would switch to the GS3 if I had to think of a reason since there are nice solutions that use an amoled screen for notifications that will not time out like that. (an app called noLed, doesn't work well unless you use amoled))
Anyway, it must be coded real deep because I've never seen a dev fix it or even hardly mention it and people have complained about it for years.
It really makes the notification light kind of worthless.
There are some apps like light flow that in theory can fix it but lightflow doesn't work for me when my sound is turned on with this phone so it's worthless right now. Missed reminder might be able to help as well but I haven't had a chance to try it.
Unrelated, but does anyone know how to disable the bright green light when battery is charged? lol

Intermittent notifications?

I was curious if anyone is having this issue. For some reason, my phone will only notify me of every few text messages/emails.
For example, Ill get a message and it'll ring normally. Then Ill get another one a few minutes later but It wont notify me at all. The same thing happens when the phone is on vibrate.
Anyone else having this sort of issue or know of a way to fix it?
Cheers
I've had this happen to me too. I think it's because when locking the phone, you're usually still on the sms app because you intend to respond when messaging someone. So it kinda stays on the screen beneath the lockscreen, which can take as long as 15 seconds to let the phone sleep. If you go back to home after responding and lock your phone, you'll hear the notification.
Just a fault in the ui.

Google Messages won't wake screen

I use the stock text app Google Messages. When the phone is sitting next to me, and I get a new text, all I get is the sound of the text beeping, but the screen doesn't wake up. The screen should wake up when that text comes in. What Setting do I need to change to make the screen wake ?
I feel so bad. I really tried looking into this when I saw your post over there. The only thing I'm reading is that it'll be in the messenger app setting. This seems like such an easy thing but I can't figure it out! I always keep all my notifications off my lock screen and I hate my screen turning on for anything but calls.
I really hope someone has an idea!

How to prevent dialer screen from dimming/turning off during a call

My screen dims rather quickly with the dialer on and then turns off. My default screentime out is 2 mins, but this doesn't apply to the dialer. It gets really annoying if you have to get through a couple of prompts and the screen keeps dimming. Any suggestions on how to address this? Either have the same 2 minute delay apply to the dialer, or even not have it turn off at all.
Thanks!

When I have Waze navigation on, my screen doesn't dim. When I make a phone call, I go back to Waze map screen. I can drag the phone call thingy wherever I want. If I need to mute, unmute I just click that to go back to call dialer interface for a few seconds. Then I go back to Waze screen to keep display on.
Yes, it's a wonky workaround, but it works. When I use this while driving, I make sure my phone is plugged in for charging -- because the display will stay on for the entire duration of the phone call.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm surprised there isn't a better way to address this..

How to Keep phone screen on during calls?

I got my Mate 20 last week and I have a nagging issue that I am trying to find a solution for. When I am in the car i have my Mate 20 in a cradle. When I make or receive a call the call screen appears, then about a minute later it will turn off (go black). When I touch the screen it will come back on. I have my screen timeout set to a minute so I understand why this may happen. However, the screen time out I don't think should do this when using the phone call app. Is there a way to keep the screen on during a call? I have looked at the settings and found nothing. I am coming from a Blackberry Priv running andriod and there was a setting the allowed to keep screen on during calls.
On my last 4 Android phones (Samsung) I had the same behavior...which I actually liked as it saves battery. There is no setting AFAIK to disable that on M20P, I mean besides extending the screen timeout.
You could use MacroDroid to set a couple of rules: one to increase screen timeout while a call is active and another to change it back when a call ends.
There are also some apps that are supposed to let you keep the screen on while a specified app is running (like Keep Screen) so don't know if that would work.
