Hi - I think I've finally found out what the 'funny' sounds and notifications LED were associated with it - it seems like Yahoo Mail app is still syncing in background and forcing notifications via the notification LED and making a 'exclamation type' sound even though I have the notifications turned off!
Most annoying - has anyone else experienced this and is there a solution please?!!!

Go into Accounts and Sync and disable Sync on the Yahoo account. Should sort things out.
I have the Yahoo mail app installed which does not appear in the accounts section although I've disabled the notification function within the app settings!

Hi,
After installed Jorte on my X10 mini I receiving every calendar notification two times. Is it possible turn off notification from built in calendar?
Best wishes
ArekS
I don't get a notification from jorte, don't find the setting :-/
but I got several notifications from the default calender, every time again if the calendar and calendar.bridge app is closed by android duo memory reasons (and if the event is still running).
This ****s me up
anyone else with this software bug?

I get multiple reminders as well, and i don't know how to change it.. extremely annoying!
I don't have a clue how to go about fixing it either.
Did anyone find a fix for this?
I use all day events (like birthdays or anniversary) and that notification will not go away it keeps coming back each time the notification is cleared and I can't figure out the setting that makes it stop (other than deleting the event?)

same problem for me
Same here, had that problem on 1.6 and it hasn't gotten any better using 2.1
Drives me nuts.

Same here, plus the Sony Ericsson Calendar app sucks.
Why can't we have the default Google one? It's much better!
For viewing and adding events you should try TouchCalendar, it provides a great overview. Unfortunately editing and viewing details of events doesn't work on Mini Pros.

DO anyone of you guys know if Jorte update directly from google or from the SE calendar and will there be any problems if you remove the installed calendar.

This problem is solved in the new vision 0.9.11 But I get double notifications is there a way to solve this?

This thread explains how to remove the stock calendar, which would almost definitely solve your double notifications dilemma.. maybe a bit extreme though!

If you remove default calendar Jorte won´t be able to sync with Google.
I've been using my mini pro for a few weeks now and I too have noticed the weird behaviour with the calendar reminders (i am using Jorte too).
What's the correct procedure for dismissing a reminder? I don't really know if i've just been snoozing them.
I pull down the notification bar and tap on the reminder there and it opens the event in the standard calendar app; does this actually dismiss the reminder?

Newbie here, I searched but sorry if this has come up before.
The 3d is my first Android phone - came from Palm Pre minus hell.
How on Earth do you turn off the sound and LED notification of every email / SMS / etc?
I've got the notifications turned off in the Mail app for each of my two accounts, but still get the BLLLIP every frickin' couple minutes.
Thanks!

use volume-down until it's on vibrate
you configure notifications from a given app from the app itself. so when you're in the main scene of an app, hit the menu key & look for Settings>Notifications.

Thanks, but I've already done that. Still get the notifications.
Calendar
I've also noticed that you can't turn on notifications but have vibrate off for the calendar events. I think this is a sense 3.0 thing, as you could do it on the EVO 4G and could do it in some custom sense 2.1 ROMs I ran. Kingdom ROM (sense 3.0) had the same issue. Wish they'd put that back in.
If you're using Gmail under settings there is an option that will only notify you once for unread emails. Once you check your mail and get new messages it'll notify once again for the next new message until you check it.
As for SMS the default app either notifies you on each app or none at all. I checked Go SMS Pro but they don't have an option that only notifies you once like Gmail does.
Edit: I had the Pre minus too, and in Android the main thing is that you use the menu button pretty much the same way in the Pre you hit the upper left corner to get the programs menu.
Thanks
Well, I'm either dumber than usual, or something is wrong.
On the page in Mail settings under "Notifications", "Email Notifications" is un-checked and set to "Off". Still get the frickin' bleep an flashing green LED on every single email.
Not sure what else I can do.
Do you have a gmail or other account. If it's a gmail account when you setup your phone by default your gmail is in the gmail app. If you setup your gmail account in the email app remove it from there and only deal with it in one place which the gmail app is the best place for it.

Aha! I was using an app labeled "Mail" which was on the first page of the home screen (or whatever the proper term is), NOT the "Gmail" app . The Gmail app also has Notification settings. How confusing.
That took care of it. Thanks a bunch!
I just wanted to know if other users were having problems receiving facebook notifications on the S2, I have tried multiple Roms to no avail. All my facebook settings are correct and I receive notifications to my IOS devices and blackberry but no to my S2.
Any help appreciated
Best solutions are on stock ROM. Check Background sync is on.. In Facebook Application.. Notifications ticked.. Refresh interval has values.. Notification types selected..

Might be something simple I'm missing - but is there a way to automatically dismiss email notifications? For example:
I'm using Enhanced Email - Combined inbox. I have a couple email accounts (exchange + gmail). Let's say I get an email in both accounts at the same time. If I tap a notification for gmail, it takes me to the EE combined inbox. I then deal with both messages. The annoying thing is the notification for the exchange email I received stays in the notification bar.
Is there any way to clear those automatically when I check my email instead of having to go to the notification panel and clear them manually?
Open up the stock email app and go to settings. Scroll down shot 2/3 of the way disband make sure that Email Notifications is not checked. Would advise going to through the gmail app and checking the same.

Yea, I tried that too. These notifications all come from EE. The only email app I use is EE, and no matter which notification I open it takes me to EE. Problem is the notification bar doesn't equate opening one account as really taking care of both notifications at once.

Sounds like an issue with the app, email the dev.
Hello all,
I've searched and searched everywhere and can't seem to find a solution to this.
I have 2 Gmail accounts on my phone, one is personal, the other is for work which is very spammy with notifications. This is great when I'm at work, but irrelevant after hours.
Is there any sort of app (simliar maybe to tasker) or a desktop toggle that will allow me to quickly enable/disable notifications for my work specific email while still keeping notifications for my personal one? I know you can do this through the menu on each account, but I'd like to avoid having to turn that off/on twice a day. Surely someone has found a way to automate this?
Thank you so much
Can't think of anything. What about using your work Gmail via a different email app that syncs as youd like?
