Hello,
So I have sadly found out that our superphone has strange TRRS pinouts for wired headsets. I own a pair of Ultimateears 600vi and the sound is great, the mic doesn't work, but the center button does and on plug in, it is recognized as earphones and not a headset. On the V-Moda Vibe Duo I own, both the center button and mic work and it registers as a headset. Both headsets work perfectly with my DINC (they just didn't sound as good).
I did a bit of research and found that Sammy phones can be a bit of a pain with compatibility. Does anyone out there have some advice for adapters? I purchased this thinking that there may have been some iPhone wiring mucking up the works, but the adapter only made the sound worse and didn't fix the mic.
Anyone learn what pinouts work with Sammy's?
Thanks,
Joe
Noticed this also. Two different Sennheiser headsets, one works and one has no mic. The px200-II have no mic and the cc550 works fine.
Both worked with sgs2

Hey guys i was wondering i have the apple iphone headphones with the built in mic and ive used it on my moterola rokr e8 just by plugging it into the 3.5mm jack on the phone. Now i know the htc touch pro 2 only has miniusb my question is that is it possible to use an adapter from miniusb to 3.5mm to get it not only the headphones to work but the mic as well?
anyone have any ideas?
I'm surprised you haven't gotten any response to this. I am sure you can use the earphones. The question is will the mic work? My adapter has a built in mic so I can't answer that part. Sorry.

ohh alright and which adapter are you using? i have an adapter one with a mic as well for the htc but i find the cord gets really long and it kind of annoying that the mic is on the adapter cuz the headphones are much closer and you have to clip the adapter close to your face but yeah which adapter do you use?
Not working
I think it's not working properly.
I previously read this in an another thread. Earphones are working but not the mic because it's not the same wiring. If i remenber, volume control on the headphone will work too.
I think it depends on the adapter you are using. From what I understand the OEM HTC adapters will allow a headset mic to work, but some of the off-brand (non-OEM) ones don't work with mics.
Hi guys,
I recently lost my Shure SE420's and have upgraded to a set of Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Vi IEM's. I bought the 'Vi' version as it has a built in mic for handsfree and a button to answer/hang up. The box said for iphone and blackberry compatible but I assumed the x10 would have no worries as its the same 3.5mm jack.
Turns out I cannot use them as the button appears to be inverted for the x10 / Android, ie its permanently in 'hang up' position. Tring to make a call immedialty displays 'call ended', but if I hold the button down it allows me to call out and releasing it hangs up.
Listening to music is terrible, it sounds robotic and keeps chopping the sound, but when the button is pressed it works fine.
Tested the headphones on my old HTC Touch HD (wm6.5) and a friends iphone and they work perfectly so appears to be an android / x10 issue. The only work around to listen to music is using a 3.5mm extender which doesnt use the mic (one less connection on the jack)
Is there something ive missed in the settings or does anyone know a workaround? Its driving me nuts!
Thanks
its because the wires dont go to the same conections in the x10 compared to the iphone, if you know what i mean. there is no setting because they are hard wired. if you are good with that sort of thing you could make an adapter, afaik that would work but its a lot of hassle.
Does anybody have a headphone with build in mic that actually works on the X10?
yea my stock sony headset that came with the x10 have built in mic and they work fine....

Really? What model headphones are those? The ones I got with my X10 came with an extension remote/microphone that you can use with any headphones, but the extension makes the cables too long so I'm looking for heaphones with the microphone build in.
I tested my Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Vi on an EVO before I bought mine and they worked great. They also worked until around the time of the latest OTA update. Now they don't control music or answer phone calls. I highly doubt the headphones broke but I ordered a replacement cable just in case so hopefully that's it but I suspect they broke something with the update.
Hi! I was wondering of an app that can live monitor my voice on my omnia, in other words I want to hear my voice on the headset so I can connect my phone with an amplified loudspeaker and hear my voice live (without delays) in the loudspeaker. Is that possible? That wold be cool, turn your phone into a speaker system. Please if you can do a reserach and give me an answer, thank you!
mic in headphone jack?
So, does the X10 have the 4 connector-type of headphone jack? Mono headphone jacks have only two conductor areas separated by an insulator; stereo headphone jacks have a third zone; and there are some devices that use a fourth zone adding a presumably mono mic to the mix.
I've been thinking Bluetooth is the only way to add a mic to the X10.
I have one of these mic/headphone combos for my ipod (for skype) and it does the same thing with my X10. I found that if I plugged it in the X10, then pulled it out by about 2-3mm, it worked fine for audio and microphone, but the button would be inactive. Best workaround I can think of.
the original headphone with mic is the best, don`t need to change it
wow so now my skullcandy's w/mic decide to work on pandora radio..
I found this adapter, which might be a fix for the hard-wiring. It's called "FiiO LU1 smart adaptor cable converter".
I am also looking for a wired headset (not in-ears). I know the one from Koss iPorta Pro isn't working.
Today, I found this other one, pretty cool, which claims to be working for most sonyericsson phones: Cresyn C550S black.
Not sure if the adapter is needed though. Maybe it would fix the problem with the
Let me know if you are using any nice wired headphone with mic that is working with x10!
I've bought the Mozart and so far am loving it...and accepting minor quibbles with it. One thing I hate is the headset that comes in the box.....it's absolute crap.
I tried using my iPhone headset and everything works (pause/play is all I really need) but the microphone won't work. The same happens for my Klipsch headset. I tried a friends Bose MIE2 headset and the mic worked fine.
Does anybody know why some headsets will work but others won't? Do I need to buy something like the HTC headset adapter? If I have to go that route, will the controls work on the Klipsch headset?
Thanks in advance
Klipsch Image S4i?
I highly doubt its Microsoft's fault. Apple has a knack for exclusivity, and I wouldn't be surprised if their shipped headsets and the Klipsch (made specifically for the iPhone) are wired to work in a different way.
HTC has always used generic 3.5mm jacks, except for when they used to incorporate the headset into the miniUSB. If there is some testing from other users, I feel that most headsets NOT specifically for the iPhone will work.
Yes it's the image S4i. I'm not saying it's Microsofts fault. My impression is that it's HTCs fault. Not standardizing on headset jacks in their handsets. I've had a HD2 and a Desire and my iPhone headsets have worked fine in those devices but the Mozart is obviously made different and none of them are working as they do in other HTC devices. I've lodged some feedback with HTC.
I bit the bullet todAy and bought the HTC HS U350 headset cable to use with my Klipsch today. All is working fine but the controls on my Klipsch is useless now. That and the fact that the cable 2 cables together are really long and I have to roll one up which is heavy and bulky.
Shoulda bought the Bose MIE2 which seem to work fine with the Mozart. Will probably end up eBaying the Klipsch headset.
has anyone tried using a inline mic or a bt headset on their tf201? ive tried the inline mic from my x10 headphones and they dont seem to work, was wondering if anyone knows which headphones with inline mic work with the TF201 or even a bluetooth that does voice also
Without modifications to the jack or the plug, I don't think you can use most headphonesnwith an inline mic. Bluetooth headsets should work.

im looking at the spec sheets online and im seeing alot of "1 x 2-in-1 Audio Jack (Headphone / Mic-in)" unless that means i can only use 1 of them at a time,,, which would be really dumb,,, as for bt ive can only hear stuff. but the mic on the headset itself doesnt pick up sound. it only pics up from the tablet mics
Don't have a bt to try, but I do have cheap earbuds with a mic, doesn't work and the ATP's manual suggests it can only do input or output on the jack.

I just purchased a pair of Turtle Beach M5 headphones that has an inline mic with control talk. It works great with my HTC Evo 3D, but the 3.5mm 4-pole/3-ring plug doesn't fit into the TF201's audio jack as the last ring and pole are exposed. The audio out works, but the bass level is too high and the treble level is too low. Disappointingly, mic-in doesn't work.

i tried my bt headset but also only audio out works, mic doesn't.
i didn't look into it more detailed but would be happy if bt mic would work, as the built-in mic isn't that brilliant
I figured out that my test was flawed and that I couldn't tell whether or not the audio was being picked up by my mic or the TF201's mic.
I tried a Plantronics Gamecon headset which has inline volume and mute contols along with a 3-ring adapter. With the mute turned on, no audio was picked up by the headset or the TF201's microphone. Thus, with the mute off, the audio must be getting recorded by the headset's microphone.

Hello,
When I bought my samsung wave, I got those standard earphones with the phone. They work great, good quality, but now I have a problem.
On my wave, it works perfect. When I put the earphones to my pc, the singing volume is low and instrumental very high (cant hear singing). Same goes for the television and the S2.
What can be wrong? I mean, it works perfect on 1 device and on every other device I almost can't hear the singing, but only instruments.
Is this fixable?
ps: the earphones are clean, it is a 4 conductor 3.5mm jack pin.
It's not actually a true 3.5mm phono jack, it also has a mic connection so even though it will fit in standard headphone sockets, the connections are wrong.
They are only intended to be used with your phone.

So I should buy new headphones?
I would like to get these: CM Storm Pitch
this is also 4 conductor, but got a spitter too (to spit audio and mic)
Not sure if this wil work without spitter.
I can't understand the site but as long as they say they are android compatible and the headphones can be used without the microphone section, they should be fine.
I have some which split at the microphone from my nokia n8 and even though the connector looks identical to my samsung headphones, they simply do not work.
