Video clip preview in gallery - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Is there some setting I need to turn on to set the video gallery to play the thumbnail previews? I had it working before I did a reset and now can't figure out how to get it going again.

It's in the "video player" application, not "gallery"

I believe it'll happen on its own. I think it'll build the video cache on its own. But I could be wrong

Was finally able to fix the problem and the side effect was it got rid of the Sense FC as well. I downloaded the latest RUU from the development section and applied it to my phone. It was a bit drastic but it has fixed all my problems thus far. I can see all my online albums and the phone is getting good performance across the board.
Same issue...

ok we have root, and s-off now, any fix would be nice!
I hope there is a fix to this soon... i hate to feel HTC is having us with a blindfold...
I have the same problem as well. I also have a problem when you upload a photo to picasa from sense, it says it was uploaded 100% but when you view the photo on picasa it shows a grey bar at the bottom.

[READ] Music "Skips"

Okay, so I'm a massive music player fan. Honestly. I jam to dubstep and metalcore (blessthefall, AILD, August Burns Red, Killswitch Engage, etc.) and I LOVE the quality of my music. BUT, recently, the last couple weeks or so, my music will randomly "skip" for a split second. What I mean is, it'll pause for a quarter second and then resume, even though it's not supposed to. Here's an example.
"You'll never stop until you get what you want,
You think you have control, you tried to take mine,
But I won't leave (0.25 second pause, then resume) until I get what I want,
Over and (0.25 second pause, then resume) over, bending and breaking!"
I don't know why it does this, because it hasn't before. I HAVE tweaked with the build.prop, but not with anything that should affect quality of music. Also, the screen is off, WiFi/Data/Sync, etc. so it isn't like, "user lag" interfering with it. I usually know the ins and outs of Android, but I'm stumped here. Any ideas mates?
ALSO, this isn't a massive problem, but it gets annoying. My songs are about 5 minutes in length or so.. And it happens probably about once every 2 or 3 songs. But still, it's annoying me mostly because I *don't* know what it is.
And one time it ruined my favorite bass drop. That's what set me off and made me make this post.
Have you tried a different music player? The stock LG one is crap.

Yes, I've used Apollo, ZPlayer, Nexmusic, Now Playing, Shuttle... Poweramp.. All the big ones pretty much.
Does this happen only when the screen is off?

I believe both, but not sure. I don't think it happens when streaming video (YouTube, etc.) I think it's just local content. I do torrent, but it isn't the files.

Did you install any mods that could have changed your CPU settings? I'm thinking that your phones processor is going too slow when its screen is off and that's causing the stutters. Try reverting your build.prop to the stock one. Either that or there's something wrong with your SD card. Have you tried another card? What about background apps? Could be that you have too many running and that's causing the slow downs.

It's not the card because it does it on internal too. And hey, the screen off idea is smart! I might check into another performance mod if it works. I'll test it to see if it does it when it's on.
CONFIRMATION: Yes, it still skips with the screen on ;(

I'm assuming that you've tested it with other mp3s, right? So it can't be that the mp3s you're playing are corrupted?
Your best bet is to revert to stock build.prop (I think you can just pull one from a stock ROM and copy and paste it to the correct system folder using ES file explorer.) If that doesn't work, do a factory reset and re flash the stock KDZ (I'm assuming you're on LGs stock ROM)

I'll try the build.pro method. Thanks! If that doesn't work, I don't mind reflashing stock KDZ. Re-rooting is a pain though ughhh xD
Mine quit skipping when I froze lge upsell in system

I had a similar problem as well. My music play for like 30 second theb it totally skip to the next track. Turn out i installed the beat audio mod through pimp my rom and it messed up my music player. I try resetting the phone and that didnt work so i had to flash kdz back to ics then update to jb again. Or i could have done a cmw backup as well.

Had this problem on my Nexus 7, Xperia Ray, and L9. I figured it because the CPU governor is not increase clock enough. Try to switch to interactive / ondemand.

Have you tried increasing the "audio buffer size" in Poweramp? I had this issue with my L9 too, went to Poweramp>settings>audio>advanced settings>audio buffer size and selected "Large (+250ms)". This did the trick for me.
I am not sure about other music players, but I am sure most of them has something similar setting too.

Where to turn on flash for video recording?

How do I turn on the flash for video recording? I have flash for pictures set to auto but I don't see any options for videos. I also notice how there's not a video mode. So you just hit the video but and it automatically starts recording? Thanks.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
Hmm I don't think that feature exists in the stock app, maybe try a 3rd party app?
Make sure the flash is on and not set on auto! Check attachment!

YouTube issue on Find X

YouTube was working just fine for me since I got the phone so I'm inclined to think that this is due to the recent update. When I try to play videos in 1080, they're zoomed in and moved to the right... Like for example, I was watching pocketnow daily, and all I could see when I switched to 1080 is Jaime Rivera's right hand lol and it was big haha
Any ideas?
Oh I got the Chinese version BTW.
I have no such problem. Maybe reinstall the app?
Yup
Same problem
Unfortunately, the only way to get it to work is to leave the quality at 480. Hope somebody find a fix.
This just started happening like 2 days or so. Must be the update. I tried uninstalling YouTube and it's still broken. Also, even when it was working, video quality on 1080 wasn't much better than 480.
Please let me know if anyone finds a fix. This is really annoying.
The fix is to turn off "video enhancement"...
The setting is under "display"

Yes, thanks.
That's the solution.
But I don't understand why...I mean, video enhancement is just to give more saturated colours to the video
