hey guys can someone please tell me the setting you have in system tuner memory tweak section...i think i screw mine up.
Is this what you want?

yep thanks....hmmm did a search, no one trying to optimize the ram?
If you don't know what your doing i wouldn't mess with tuning those values. Find a kernel with modified lowmem killer depending on what forum section you are using (tmo sprint, etc.) Most have it

I just read about the benifits of minfree handler and got an app named autokiller memory optimiser from the market .
Can anyone tell me wht settings to configure in order to set minimum ram as 280mb?
I tried different combinations but my ram seems to keep going below thevvalue i set..

The minfree values are being configured by the Supercharger script. Try the built in modes or make your own minfree configuration. It's a Bourne shell script, not a pdf, just uploaded with a pdf extension.
Thanks but i already got an app that dies the job ..all im wondering is about the correct setting ..

Androids minfree is very advanced, your goal should be a smooth transition regardless of what you're doing. We have 512MB of RAM, that's alot relative to the rest of the O1 hardware.
Most of these minfree apps have predefined settings. Start with a middle of the road setting. If you find your phone lagging due to limited memory chose a more aggressive setting. If regularly used apps are taking to long to load, and performance is otherwise unchanged then choose a less aggressive setting.
My current settings are 2048,3072,4096,7168,9728,12800 = midrange
Common more aggressive settings would be 1536,2048,4096,15360,17920,20480
I'm using optimum (40,50,60)....ill increase later today to see if there's any changes..I'm not using supercharger scripts right now, personally because I never thought I had a need for em but the minfree app is amazing

Could you explain the significance of the values 40,50,60 n what they would help for? ,sorry but im confused..

may i know how do we change the value for minfree if not using any apps or script?
directly edit the below line in init.rc file?
Code:
write /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree 2048,3072,4096,6144,7168,8192

I think that's the line. But i think it's better to use script...
Anyone uses this app yet. It was recommend by Clemsyn on XDA as a better alternative to setcpu. I download the free version in the market, but the UI is a bit confusing. Seems like a little better optimization available.

I saw his recommendation and downloaded the free version. I its a little overwhelming as i'm still noobish, but it seems to have a larger breadth of options than set cpu. As far as its relative reliability, i'm not sure. There is no "apply" button for uv steps tho, so an unintentional finger slip can cause your phone to freeze! just try it out, see if you like it I guess

any way to disable the memory management?
Im gonna mess around with it tonight and see if I like it. It seems like it will take a little getting use to though lol.

I have been using this ever since it came out it replaces a lot of apps out there and the CPU tuner is compatible with dual core phones and utilizes them completely. It has an app manager, auto starts, frequency controls, sd booster and many more uses. I for one think it is one of the best apps I have in my root arsenal .

Yeah I couldn't be more impressed now that I've messed around with it, but its gonna take sometime for me to fully utilize this seeing im kinda new to a lot of these features.

I was using this for a little and noticed something weird im running the v6 supercharger scripts and in my memory settings the last mem setting would change from 275mb to 256mb. I tried everything so that it wouldnt mess with my supercharger scripts but no go. I unistalled it and everything has been back to normal. Anyone else notice this?
tapped via supercharged atrix with cm7 and clems kernel.

I believe this is the only option for memory, but could also be very wrong! :-0

I bought the Pro version and am liking it better than SetCPU now that I have got used to it and have everything set up. I would like to see live update on the widget when the screen is on though. Lowest setting is 10 seconds.
Did someone use both of them and can list the advantages and disadvantages of both for gs3.
Thanks

i use both, for managing my cpu and cpu profile include voltage control, i use setcpu.
System tuner is more like all in one app. but it depends on your kernel. some kernel support setcpu and some dont. so check your kernel. if you are using custom kernel.
System tuner has a lot of info like which apps use more of your cpu. this can be usefull to find background app that running and use a lot of cpu which resulting bad battery life.
I suggest you check system tuner xda thread as all the info and all use listed there.
use search button or go to google play and search system tuner and go to their website or xda link
Would it be safe to delete all of my init.d scripts? I remember I had to delete ones related to kernel tuner when flashing a new kernel. What if I deleted all of the scripts whenever I flash a new kernel? Thanks!

Usually the Rom developer puts them in there, unless you know it is causing a problem it should stay there.
But to answer your question, it shouldn't cause a problem to remove them.

Can you tell me which ones I'm supposed to have? Do any of these look out of the ordinary, or do they all belong? Thanks, by the way!
Edit: I'm running newts nos m7 1.6 with beastmode 5.9, if that matters
Those look normal, are you running Newts rom?

You would probably lose some performance and battery life... Just move them to a different folder and if you need to move them, move them back

That's exactly what I do when troubleshooting for myself or other users. I just make a folder somewhere that I can easily navigate back and fourth between the folders because it makes it easier to move files.I name it "init out-it old folder" or something simple like that.
OP, The only two I would consider moving are GPU rendering and complete, just because I'm not sure what the complete script is, and usually I disable force 2D GPU rendering and I'm thinking that's what is in the other script.
Okay guys, so after using a lot of tweaks for the rom I'm at a point where my performance and battery life is pretty good. So here's the one one app which always saves battery life like a pro:
SetCPU - it's a life savor, try setting up some profiles in it for the different battery states and lock screen etc. By setting normal CPU on lock screen to 300 it got so much better battery life.
To find the app just search "SetCPU" in play store, it does require root acces.

Hmm, I am pretty sure that SetCPU needs a custom kernel with change-able clock speeds.

To overclock? Yes. To manage CPU profiles according to battery level, lock screen and so on. Only root is needed. Its only the frequency it changes

sorry for offtopic, before i factory reset i used rom toolbox pro for cpu profiles. i also found sd booster - it works for internal memory and external micro sd card.
i see there is standalone app for that also -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mehrmann.sdbooster&hl=pl

i don't know. imho it does not because it's about caching files, it's something like creating ram from int/ext memory and someone said:
Yeah it will degrade the life of the sdcard, which is why I advise users to perform due diligence in the Disclaimer/Warning.
But from the research I did it seems that the degradation is negligible enough that something else in the device will break before the sdcard. Or even more likely the user will replace their device due to pace of technology before the degradation is really noticed.

creating 256mb swap partition is more than actually making 4mb cache so i think it is barely impossible to damage the storage even because we download many apps or games so the storage is filling with data too
it is only my opinion
