I'm looking for a ICS (Holo) themed keyboard for my phone but can't find any, the ones i found are for other devices but not for mine (mdpi) so I would like to know if it is possible to have the ICS keyboard on our xperias with Gingerbread, I found an app on Play store, ICS Keyboard, but the free version doesn't have the swipe support, and I'm very interested in find a keyboard with this function since I use it a lot when texting.
SwiftKey X
I tried Swiftkey but noticed it didn't have gesture options....

I search for the keyboard you suggest, HTC_MOD but I don't know how to install it... :S
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416
Download the low resolution version.
You install it like you would any other app.
If you're not rooted though, find an app installer on the market to install the keyboard.

Thanks, but i installed it and the default keyboard still appears, it doesn't work even when I already I activated....
EDIT: nvm, i find a good looking keyboard with swipe gestures you can find it here:
http://www.swype.com/get-swype/how-do-i-get-swype/
It's still in beta, but I tried it on my phone and works like a charm.
I recommend it. :good:

Doesnt work on 2.1 you need newest Voice Search for that and this is only available for 2.2
But it should work on 2.2 AOSP Rom i think

I'm now using CM7 RC1 and I found the stock keyboard not that good. Can anyone recommend the best keyboard for CM7? Originally I wanted to try Swype but I could not find the way to install it on my defy with CM7! Help appreciated, thanks
If u want swype, go to swype website, sign up, they email u an installer.apk which u open to install swype, I have it on cm7

If it fc's, you've downloaded the wrong version I downloaded the one called "2.2" when using it on my Defy with CM7.

SwiftKey X

I am now using the stock moto keyboard on cm7
It is really useful!
can you show the link? i want to try to...thx
+1 for Swiftkey X
It was the first app I bought for my Defy
SwiftKey X gets my vote too. Have been using a variant of SwiftKey for almost a year now. Can't imagine ever using another keyboard.
If you like Swype. SlideIt is pretty cool also.
HTC_IME simply the best!
Has many many customizations and for me the most important thing: very responsive alphanumeric and compact QWERTY modes. I tried many keyboards that have alphanumeric input but all of them are unusable because of lag.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416 must have!
Install High resolution version (Froyo/2.2)
i have tried and used many keyboards in the past but i really like the stock one thsat comes with cm71.5. by far and away the best for predictive text and very responsive.
however i installed the new release of swype and man i am sold. i absolutely love it. tried it when it was first released and hated it. it just didnt seem very good. however this version i have now is amazing. lets put it this way there are only a few apps that i really really want on my phone and swype is one of them.
it is just so easy to use and it also has a voice input key if you simply want to talk to it. bloody top stuff and gets my vote as the keyboard to have.
give smart keyboard pro a try. lots of skins, lots of options. great keyboard.
Go keyboard is great
Swiftkey x..the best..

Is it possible to somehow port or install the stock ICS launcher on GB 2.3.7(CM 7)?
Sent from my LG-P350 using XDA premium
Alot of porting your best luck is to install ICS Launcher from the market
Sent from my €PΩ 4G TØU©H
Well anyway since idk how to do this myself and there are no devs around that try that i suppose i will have to use one of the ICS-like launchers.
I consider this thread closed.
Well, ics launchers on google play are well "ported" already, and if your phone is strong enough to handle ics goodies then its better just to port hole ics to that phone.BTW i really like ics theme on go launcher ex

Ye I know we have ics but touch (partially) and most of other stuff doesn't work but it boots and it's rather fast. And i know about the apps in the market and i tried them all bit i want all of ICS launcher functions. Anyway tnx for reply but as I said since there are no ports, I believe we can consider this thread closed.

I just flashed Task's official ICS build and I noticed that there is no stock Android keyboard, only the white Samsung one. Is there a way to install the stock keyboard through a flashable zip or through an apk? I liked the stock one in cm9 and the Samsung keyboard gets laggy at times.

On the android market (play store) search up ics keyboards and I recommend the second app that pops up. The icon should be a gray colored icon.

I ended up picking up the Jelly Bean keyboard from the Play Store. That was easy...thanks!
Does anyone know any keyboard like this?
I tried SwiftKey and Swype, but they use too much memory and its laggy. I like this stock keyboard, but there is no option to turn off auto capitalization.. any idea?

Swype

on the wildfire? - it's targeted onto tablets if I'm not mistaken - isn't it a bit too errm feature rich for 320x240?
I stick with ICS native keyboard. Pretty fast, quite small and good recognition.

Actually the Hacker's Keyboard has been on the wildfire play store since the wildfire itself first came out, I used it a few times but found the ability to move the keys and change the sizes a little too daunting...
I have seen in htc explorer sense keyboard can swype too, can we used it in htc wildfire with cm7 rom?

I'm using the MultiLing keyboard, its like...600kb *_*, light, lagfree and it may be me but I tend to belive it is faster than the ics keyboard.
Also there's a cute theme option where u can turn it dark so it looks awesome on Gosms pro with ics theme.
try to use smart keybord
I m using smart keyboard too.
Wish it has swype option as well.
