I've seen a few people working on jb. I've even seen some jb animations and features in some ics roms so my question is how far away is it from being on ny phone and who's got the best jb Rom out now, cuz I'm feeling adventurous and I'm wanting to test drive it. Trouble is I'm a noob *groans from the crowd* but I'm not an idiot and if anyone is looking for someone to test their Rom and see how it goes if ur willing to explain what I need to do to give you reliable and useful information I'm willing to do this.

If you are CDMA, there are some alpha builds in the CDMA development forum. Some major bugs still, but you did say you wanted to test it out. Here's one:

It's still early for fully functioning JB rom, but there are developers working on this, so we just have to believe that it will be soon availible.

I'm sure eventually once they upgrade themselves to the phone.

I have a suggestion not to be a **** but you can just ask no need for a new thread .
Now I do agree it be great but we do have a great deal of devs on here now also a lot will keep the work off xda because its just to chaotic at Times as both these devs did at first on the 3d .
The one series phones are great but also I think some devs will wait for the upcoming sgs3 but that's far off for now we have some roms here and more to come

Myn said he would be eventually...don't remember where I saw I think in Development section he posted a (MOD) thread in which he made it sound he was going to be building for the LTE.
Elite Recognized Developers get two free phones a year from XDA. Not sure how that works but imagine he will get the LTE and GS3 if he stays with Sprint. Also I dont know if he has to get both phones at the same time. Anyone who knows correct me if I'm wrong

That makes sense. Myn mentioned that he was going to upgrade to the LTE and give the SGIII to his wife. This was discussed in the ICS going on vacation thread in the EVO 3D dev forum.

Hello everyone,
First off I'd like to say that I'm a big fan of the site and have been referencing it ever since i got my HTC EVO years ago. You guys rock!
The reason I'm here is because I have a Motorola Photon currently running CM9 with Jelly Bean. I like it, however I don't like having to tether with 3g speeds when I know something faster is out there.
So my main question is: Have there been any ROMs (Jellybean or otherwise) that allow for 4g usage? If so, could you direct to where I could find them?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out.

That thread seems a bit dated now. I am on 198_7. Can I pick any custom rom and lock the bootloader to gain 4g?
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
No. Custom ROMs (ics, jb, etc.) use custom kernels, which are not supported on a locked bootloader. Sorry.

What happened to Swiperrat? All those ROMs and he is gone now? I wonder why he's not here? That ends like 4 ROMs for our phone. Strange

Banned.
There was another thread shut down already. I don't know why but the fact is he's banned

Ah, really? That sucks. His CM 10.1 Black was my favorite ROM. What could he have done that was bad enough to cause the MODS to rid him and his great work from this forum...
That blows. I honestly was looking forward to an update to his Baked Jewel (Blackbean 8) ROM. It was amazing but the headset detection, MMS, and notification light was a dealbreaker from me. Well, i'm sure we'll find him on the other sites where his ROMs are located.
Should I root my EVO?

If you have to ask then probably not just my .02
^This.
Also depends on what you plan on doing with your phone. If you're content with the way your phone is now, no. If you want to extend the performance of your phone and you're willing to take some time to read and learn, have at it

Well I've rooted phones before HTC aria, Sony x10i, samsung transform, htc EVO 4g, EVO shift, and the EVO 3d, didn't get to root my LG viper but anyways, I'm bored of stock and its like implanted in me once i do it I'll start flashing rom after rom , my question is is it worth it ?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
As Fin said it depends what you are looking to do.
Also development is kinda slow right now some devs have moved on to the One but...it may pick up if/when the Evo LTE gets an update which is supposed to happen but who knows what HTC/Sprint has in mind
To answer your other question, yes, it's worth it. There are plenty of ROM's to choose from. There are custom kernels and tons of other things to customize your phone to your liking. There are also methods to gain S-off for every Hboot, so no worries there
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Wouldn't be so bad if they would go ahead and release the new update maybe wouldn't plan on rooting but they drag ass too much

142 is the latest, although there is no download link to it. You have to use SVN or the terminal emulator script to update to that version. The changes between 141 & 142 were very minor.

There is only one Sense 5 port and it's pretty much a daily driver if you don't care about Bluetooth being broken and no audio when using Netflix. Try it out.
