Yeah, is it any better than Galaxy S2 or Amaze 4G development?
Also, are there any ICS ROM/apps which can:
-switch back the camera button to the silent mode button
-switch places between the camera button and the lock button?
There is no stable AOSP base yet, but when it's complete, remapping the camera key should be simple.

I'm using the latest Omega v7.0.
Is there any possibility to remapp the menu button with the multitasking function? It's always a pain holding the homebutton down for many seconds and waiting until the multitasking interface will show up.
As the HTC One series I'd like to get some sort of menu buttons displayed on the screen if necerary.
C'mon guys anyone?
I wish someone can develop on this too... This is possibly the worst experience I have with my S3, the lack of multitask button.

I apologize if this has been brought up
but would it be possible to use the menu or volume buttons as a camera button?
+1. any option that doesn't involve rooting the phone?
Use HyperX's Modded camera. It will provide you with better quality and many other additional features along with the ability to use Volume buttons to shoot photos.
Have a look at his HOMEPAGE
There is no way to do this without root.
I strongly think that Samsung should add dedicated camera key.
Hey,
I currently use I9001XXKQ1_I9001XXKPI_I9001DBTKP1_HOME firmware for my SGS+ and I was wondering if I couls somehow either
add Screenshot to the Power-Menu like in ICS and JB
remap the screenshot
currently it is done by pressing the back-softkey and the homebutton. unfortunately the app reacts to them so I go back or exit the app.
Maybe it would be possible to map the action to volume down and power or so.
Best thing would still be in the Power-Menu since that effects no apps and is guaranteed to work.
Hi guys, long time no modding Recently since the Droid Ultra announced and the peculiarities about the buttons setup, i got an idea about placing the Menu button as Recent Apps button like in Droid Ultra. But what about legacy apps you say? don't worry, just like Droid Ultra, just long press it and release, then additional hidden setting will come up. If your apps are 4.0 and up, the Overflow button will be added in the Title Bar so no need to long press to reach the menu.

Still looking for better long press behavior though, should be popping up the menu while pressing instead of when the button got released.
FAQ:
Q: Which ROM is compatible?
A: 982.124.14 ROM of RAZR JB. Au or Eu version etc is compatible.
Q: Why not the Search button on our RAZR?
A: Because the code is too complex and with additional Google Search functionality, too much to be edited. Better yet, i intended to publish this mod as tutorial (once the long press behavior is fixed) And i don't really want to remove the Google Now experience altogether by just remapping the key, so i chose the menu button.
Version History:
1.0
- Release
1.2
- Added Second Haptic Feedback when long press the menu button.
- Remove Long Press event on Home

Too risky. Sorry...I will just remap the hardware keys using my rom. But thanks for the mod and the idea. Lol.
New version has been added, which added a second haptic feedback after long press. Trying to make the menus out while pressing but it doesn't work quite well.
So far Liquidsmooth is the only ROM I've found that allows fully customizable hardware button remapping, are there any others?
SlimBean is what I'm running now, and it allows full remapping of the soft keys. I set menu to recents and love it.
