How do I relock my Xperia Mini Pro? I unlocked it through the official way on the Sony Website and wanting to relock it now. I reflashed my phone to stock ROM with stock KERNEL and want to lock the bootloader. I downloaded Flashtool and now I don't know what to do. Should I use Flashtool or S1tool? Please help, thanks
Plus, Flashtool is not recognizing any drivers I have installed, I installed my phone's driver using Gordan Gate's which I got from WontanServer. Will I have to install the drivers manually?
If you used official method, you will need this file, attached to my post, inside the .rar file, and Flashtool. Just place the .ftf file in Flashtool/firmwares folder, then open Flashtool, flashmode and pick the relock_bootloader.ftf file. Make sure your phone is in Flashmode also.
About drivers...I cannot remember, which drivers did I install...
Thanks, a lot, I have finally relocked the bootloader. But just to make sure, how can I check If my bootloader is locked or unlocked? Thanks

Dial *#*#7378423#*#* service info>cofiguration. If it says bootloader unlocked allowed : yes then it's locked, if bootloader unlocked : yes then it's unlocked.
One qeustion by my side: After relocking the bootloader, is it posiible when you send it to the servis to be detected that the bootloader has been unlocked (or maybe that the device has been rooted) previously? I have relocked the bootloader and done repair with Pc companion so everything is like before well.....except that before i did a root with flashtool and didn't knew that the stock firmware isn't rootable like that and i lost 3G!!!!!!...now i must set to 2g in order to get signal coz i get with 3g weak signal and when i make a call it drops off. That's why i want to send it to the service

Did you flash the .ftf file with Flashtool properly? It worked on me perfectly, was able to lock the bootloader without problems.

What i was trying to say is that if i reflash my phone to stock ROM with stock KERNEL and take it to service how will they know that it's unlocked?

I knew that your post had nothing to do with relocking patrida If you unlocked your phone with sony's official method you loose your DRM even if you relock it.Now, about the service, i highly doubt they gonna search if you unlocked it but i can't swear about that. There is also another method unlocking your phone without loosing DRM but didn't tried it and i don't know if they can detect it or not

Now i get it.. you loose your DRM the exact time you ask them to provide you unlock code!
So,no matter what you do afterwards they allready know which device is unlocked and which is not.. sosta thessalonikie mou??
My phone is unlocked with the "other" method and let's hope that i'll never have to take it to them and wonder if they detect it or not!!!
My phone now is locked and to check if your bootloader is locked or not, download S1tool. Open S1tool and click "Identify" and then follow the onscreen instructions. When your phone's information comes up it will say "R(some numbers and letters)". If you have a capital R means your bootloader is locked, if you have a small r means your bootloader is unlocked.

You lose DRM, if you unlock via fastboot using official method. When DRM is gone, it is completely gone, currently there is no way of getting it back.

Can you guys please tell me what this "other" method is? The one by which you can unlock a Xperia Mini without loosing DRM.

thanks! this method works for xperia active
Hi, new here .
Quick question; has anyone successfully unlocked their XMP with the Wotanserver client? I want to make sure they're reputable and trustworthy before I hand over ~£13. As far as I understand, this is the easiest way to remove a carrier-lock (and no free way exists).
This is mainly so I can then unlock the bootloader and install custom kernels.
Thanks!
I have read from somewhere, that they have unlocked their Xperia with WotanServer and it succeeded. Can't remember, which topic it was....Try searching.
if they use a test point method then you can be almost sure it will work well.
I have unlocked 2 both went without a problem

It can be wotan server or omnius or setool but by my own experience if the server uses the test point method there will be no prob and maybe even will left the bootloader unlock.
You can unlock the sim using test point or imei code. So i don't know if wotanserver uses test point as i don't know if the imei method will unlock the fastboot mode that is why i made a comment about the method.

Ok thanks for the replies .
So basically I need to find out from them what method they use (not sure if they'll tell me that :S) and ask if I can unlock the bootloader as a result of using their tool - or if their tool unlocks the bootloader as well.
I'll post here when I get an answer .

dude, to unlock from wotan server, you use the test point method.. And when o unlock your phone from network, it will unlock bootloader too, so you don't have to worry with that anymore... btw, after unlock your phone, don't do officials updates from sony, it will brick your phone..

Just to clarify on your last point; it's the bootloader unlock which won't play nice with sony updates, right? So if I want to use an official update in the future I can just re-lock the bootloader but keep the network unlocked?

From what we know at the moment, yes it is so.
Not much people have network locked phone, so we don't have much information.
And yes, unlocked bootloader will not let Sony updates to be installed.
I am not a noob..have played alott with HTC and samsung phones...but sony seems to b a different ball game all together..i hv been reading threads since the last two days to unlock the bl of my neo v..and flash roms and stuff...
but there are a couple of qstns that are bothering me...
1-I wanted to install KA20.1 Ics rom..since its official stripped down ics... but it needs unlocked bootloader. i am currently running gb..2.3.4 .62...
first i though of rooting and using gb as it is.. but now since ics is here i am inclined to use ics
so here is my question..
If i unlock my bootloader..and then flash official ics using flashtool..will the bootloader get locked again?? will it create any kind of issue for me with regard to using flashtool and flashing official ics?? if yes then what..
will it have to b unlocked again???
and the next question
Everything remains the same in case of jj hybrid rom also??
but i wud appreciate all the help i can get ..cz whatever i learn i always give it back to the forum..
xda rocks..
cheers...

No.
Though not sure what you meant by "flashing official ics". If you meant with flashtool, then answer is still no.
If you meant on using PCC or SEUS then answer depends how you unlock your BL. IF you unlock it unofficial way, with s1tool, then you won't have any problem. If you unlock it via IMEI code from Sony developer page, then you won't be able to use PCC or SEUS until you relock your BL(which is done by flashing 1 ftf file).
And for both official and unofficial way worth rule, do not use OTA updates. For official way, that's 100% correct, while for unofficial way, some report problems, some don't have them.

I don't like OTA, and after you unlock your BL it will be smart not to use it, as we told above.
And if you unlock your BL it's much easier to root it, as I wrote, check that thread I linked in this post and try.

1. Loose warranty if si number aint the same.. Coz si number is written on hardware ( in xu,... Below the battery)
2. Loose warranty
3 . Root can b unrooted...so unroot it before u get to a service center
4. Unlock bootloader - loose ur warranty for sure
5. Any other process - mods and other software modifications leads to lose of warranty

Sony's website clearly states in capital that
Unlocking ur botlotloader will void ur warranty
And its not like u do anything u retain the warranty jz by flashing any official rom and relocking bootloader
Si number of the software needs to match wid hardware
And if checked ( hardly takes anything to check) will indicate software tempering and a voided warranty
Sent from my ST25i using Forum Runner
Nope, because you can relock it your warranty won't be voided
Also if you keep it unlocked, you will only lose warranty on software, not on hardware.
I have had 3 Sony phones (2 se 1 Sony) I develop on all of them, returned them for warranty like 15 times and never had any issues.
Si number Is only for updates not for warranty, imei is for warranty.

Drm keys arent that important

It says unlocking may void warranty.
This is what Sony UK told me:
Hi #####, validating the warranty of a handset once the bootloader has been unlocked is done on a case by case basis which is why we are unable to say for definite whether or not the warranty would be voided by doing this.
However, unlocking the bootloader is usually done to load custom roms and unofficial software which does void the warranty in most cases.

It doesn't matter you officially unlocked your bootloader or not. You can relock it by flashing that .FTF file by flashtool containing loader file and regain access to sony services, only trackid isn't working after relocking the bootloader. you can also fix that by installing walkman mod with DRM files provided by ThilinaC..

i don't know will you get back your warranty or not if you have shown your phone at service center in UNLOCKED bootloader state, may be sony registers your IMEI for out of warranty but if you havn't shown your phone to service center in unlocked state then of course you will get back your phone's warranty. I tried this on my LWW and hence saying this with personal experience.

As far as I know, you won't get back your warranty.
1) they ask for your IMEI number while you are unlocking bootloader only, and I suppose this is for tracking purpose
2) when I was unlocking my devices bootloader, I had read in the faq section of the guide that it's not possible to get back warranty because even if you lock the bootloader again, bootloader status will be shown as re-locked (not "locked" as it originally was) so the Sony people will know you've messed around with your phone

1. They ask your IMEI not for tracking, its for generating unique unlock code of your device.
2. Where did you see your bootloader status as RE-LOCKED, as far as i know after relocking, flashtool says "Bootloader status: Rootable" not relocked and if you see in phone's service menu(*#*#7378423#*#*), it shows "Bootloader unlock allowed : Yes"
and i had given my phone on service center for some hardware issue after relocking BL and was solved.
