Yeah i dont understand the steps can you do all this from my photon

Should be able to push everything through from sdcard on your phone, as long as your typing correct commands into your terminal emulator. Can find the instructions with the file links.

Success has been reported in post 15 of the same thread. Also, check out the stickys, particularly "Read Here First. All things MoPho". The best info is kept there.
Good luck!

I agree but it does get a tad irritating. I have been on the boards so long I have begun to ignore it. That link looks correct though.
Do I flash both of these files from hoot? Thanks for the help man some people take this stuff too seriously

Your right I sure did and only because they said I posted on the wrong thread. What are you the xda police?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Yes, put on root of sd card and flash through hboot.
I lost root. Can I get it back without having to do the terminal adb thing?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
The first one you put on here I flashed but my software still said 1.12.605.9
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
The baseband version is the radio, not the software number.
How did you lose root?
Hey man seriously there need to be more ppl on here like you. Huge help. I fn flashed a stock radio apparently that caused me to lose root. I got confused about your post I knew what the first one was but didn't understand why the link to the thread was there. I had been there so many times. I'm getting the numbers confused I think . Do I have to root all over again? Can I flash a new radio from hoot? Thanks again

There is no root yet. So u might as well stop looking.

There's a temp root available, this is not permanent. You loose root when you reboot. Look in the Android Development Section and you will find the information there.

No root after ota update.

Anyone having problems after the latest update? I got a new Photon and rooted it first thing. After an ota update I can't get it to root at all. It reboots constantly during the process. Ideas?

Which root method are you using? I've not had any problems with the torpedo method, even after the last update. Two obvious issues to check off first is do you have the superuser app installed and USB debugging on?
Everything is as it should be. It has to the update. I have no clue about what to do.

Torpedo works on 198_6.
Duh, something as simple as starting the batch file and tapping the enter key twice before inserting the usb cable. Thanks for all the suggestions. (-;

Everything except unlocking the bootloader should be able to work... But you have to go online to htcdev.com, or whatever the site is, and get the unlock token. Everything else can be done with fastboot and recovery

So if I want to just root but not unlock
"From "terminal emulator , what packages if any and is there a script to do so... Just to gain root.
Almost like a one click method or like zroot uses or terminal emulator

The bootloader must be unlocked first. AFAIK. From what I remember that's the only way to gain root.

No you have to unlock the bootloader first. That part isn't hard though... Takes like 5 min if you can borrow someone's computer
This sticky has a link to hasoon's all in 1 tool kit, but you will also need a computer for that. There is NO one click method for Amaze, and won't be here until S=off does AFAIK

?? 4.0.4 not sure which one that is
Its ICS, if you go to Santods forum. Infectedrom.com you can find the way there but there's more to it than the all in one. Its a little harder but not much. You do have to make an account to view the forums though, but that's not really a hindrance.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
you need to unlock your bootloader before anything, you can do that at htcdev.com
Thanks!! Excellent referral! Just wish I could find a simple link like that for roms...lol
