[Q] Call recording - Urgent - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there.
Just need some help here.
Firstly my ROM: CheckROM V6 (Gingerbread based on XWLA4)
Can anyone link me to a fully working Phone.apk that has call recording enabled and support 160 DPI? I have checked on the kitchen app and I see a few there but the mixed reviews are making me uncomfortable in relying on those apks. Calling is crucial to me and I don't want any hassles.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you
Ps, CheckRom RevoHD V6. Still the best ROM for me. 100% stable. Best battery life compared to any other ICS/GB ROM.

Uhm..Anyone?

I give up.....

Your problem is you're relying on people to do things for you. Try them out for yourself! If it doesn't work, try another
XDA is a site for community help and sharing of course, but it's not a site where everyone will walk you through everything step by step and do the work for you. Take the initiative. Also, perhaps consider shortening your signature a bit? It's generally considered bad manners to have a ridiculously large one for no other reason than to show off. Pride is great and all, but limits do exist.

Stock Rom with some light morphing and NOW v2a lots of themed apps. Feels good on battery life, I have been using it since the 28th and wanted to share it.This is my first rom I have done basically as I have been a CM7 user since my captivate days. This rom with JKay app (Included) makes this the first Samsung based rom for ME that has many built in features as comparing to CM7. I first tried out CheckRom XWLA4 and made some changes to it so it worked on our I777. I asked for permission to port it to our I777 and was refused. So I looked up the newest build date for I9100 Roms and found the I9100XILA3 that came out on Feb. 28th, 2012. So I found a PURE STOCK but DEODEXED and started to make the changes I liked when I was playing with the CheckRom to get it to work properly on our device. I hope you like this build and if anyone wants to add onto it or change it in ANY WAY please feel free. Like I said this was my attempt to see how to manually port a rom from a different phone. I did NOT use the Hellraiser though it may have been easier. To cut down on the overall size of the rom I ended up using Rom Factory to zip up this rom. I first tried using Siyah Kernel but kept having lockups on my phone. I switched to Entropy512's Daily Driver Kernel and it has been flawless and I could not have even attempted this without his great work. I have removed some/quite a few Bloatware Apps and some others and included a couple of other apps from the market to swap out with for example MEMO I used InkPad Notepad since I could use it while on a Samsung Based Rom and on CM7/CM9 based roms and it has a great sync feature for all my devices. I will make a file with all the removed apps and post them up here asap as well. This is my first version I am comfortable with and hope others can enjoy trying something also to aid our flashing addictions. Also you can use the Samsung Based Modems to flash on top if need be. I used UCKJ4 and UCKH7 since it works great in my area. Thanks and enjoy.
Some added features( I will list them as I remember):
Build.prop so phone is seen as a I777 and 3g Speed tweaks
JKay App- Use it to change/Add MANY settings for Status Bar and Extended Power Menu, as well as other things. Some of the Extended Power Menu Icons did not Theme correctly but MY most used did. So once you add them you should see the morphing done as well. Also it has other LockScreen Style options.
Camera Mod V2-Improved Audio/Video and HW button
Call Logs Patch-Remove txt/mms/emails from call logs
Android Battery
Cheesy Cobra BootAnimation
I use Go Launcher for MORE themeing variables but did not include it. You can get all from the Market ALL FREE

CHANGELOG:
03-04-2012 V.1C
INITIAL RELEASE
03-07-2012 V.1G
Updated Entropy512's Kernel to Daily Driver 03052012
Replaced Dialer to more my style (Still need to remove the small video call button from this one)
Replaced IN-CALL Dialer to better fit theme with NO video call button after call.
Fixed Android Battery Display
I KNOW, SMALL BABY STEPS FOR ME. Just trying to get things better.
03-10-2012 V.1h
Updated Entropy512's Kernel to Daily Driver 03072012
Started changing Dialer completely to a different look. Having an issue trying to remove video call still but working on it.
Fixed MMS APN settings since it wasn't saving it on the first builds.
The PIN Lock has not worked on any of the builds and I have seen that is the case with other roms also. Not sure of the fix yet if any. Looking for any feedback of anything else I am missing. I try to make changes and test them out before uploading them so I know they are stable. So you may see some skipping in Build #'s for example V.1c to V.1g. I haven't had Entropy's newest kernel on long enough for testing and may revert back if needed.
03-16-2012 v2.a FINAL
LINK TO ALL ME SCREENSHOTS: http://db.tt/lua9LKs1
Regressed back to Entropys. Daily Driver 02282012 since it is the preferred version by many for battery life at this time.
Completed personal made DIALER and personal made IN CALL DIALER with NO VIDEO CALL button now. Blue themed.
Themed Contacts.apk and Phone.apk blue themed( my personal versions)
New awesome looking mms.apk blue themed.
Themed Clock blue themed
Calendar Blue themed
MUSIC Themed
Browser Blue Themed
MyFiles Blue Themed
Calculator blue themed
Task Manager blue themed
JKay blue themed
AxT9IME KEYBOARD blue themed
I take no credit for most of the themed apk's as I only found them by searching the net for blue themed apk's and then making the changes to either xila3 apk's or xwla4 apk's to make them work for this rom.
I will upload many new pics so you all can see the changes.
CobraRom v2.b UPDATE ONLY VERSION from v2.a
Release Date:03-20-2012
New JKay Deluxe Settings Icons
New JKay Icons are located in data/ JKay_Deluxe_Icon_Pack1 and will show up either explorer or gallery
Changed many themed apps to nicer themed versions to fit the overall Rom.
Changed the phone.apk again to a nicer visually looking one but it does have the video call dialer after ending the call only, I will try to work on that. The reason for changing it is due to when ending call if someone hangs up you get a process.phone error and lose signal for a few seconds before it comes back to full signal.
Other changes I am sure that I cannot remember right now between versions.
OLD PICS BELOW. DIALER has changed as of 03-07-2012. I will update the pic to the newest desing of the dialer screen soon.
Will add more later but in the MEANTIME,
ALL NORMAL NOTICES APPLY HERE. YOU FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ON HOW TO GET SOME SETTINGS TO WORK OR CHANGE POST THEM HERE AND I WILL TRY TO ANSWER RIGHT A WAY. TO BE SAFE PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING THIS. THIS SHOULD WIPE YOUR PHONE BUT TO BE SAFE PERFORM A FACTORY RESET/CACHE WIPE BEFORE INSTALLING. SOME THINGS MAY NEED TO BE CHANGED EITHER WITHIN THE SETTINGS OR JKAY SETTINGS TO GET THE FULL POTENTIAL. IF YOU DOWNLOAD/ USE THE KITCHEN PRO APP THAT SOME THINGS IN THERE DO SEEM TO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY ON OR PHONES. WITH JKAY AND KITCHEN PRO YOU CAN MODIFY THIS TO YOUR PERSONAL LIKING. I LIKE THE BLACK AND BLUES. I HOPE YOU ENJOY...

I guess it cant be downloaded from the market then? It can be pulled out of another rom if needed. I guess because I had a titanium backup of it from when I was trying out checkrom. It does seem to still work for me even though this is a completely different base than checkrom. I will change it in the op.

No i once made one GB rom but it wasnt really popular, hardly anyone used it. And i also made a ics beta rom (with the ics leaks) but i stopped development for it because i didn't really like the leaks i preferred waiting for the official release.

I've been waiting for your rom here in S2. I've flashed your S1 ROMs. I'm a big fan. Downloading right now. You cook odex roms before right? This is deodexed. Anyway, I still like this.
No sms in call log in the changelog. Did you implement this?
About the AOSP Apps, do I have to remove the included apps before flashing this file?
Will this work on GT-19100G ???

The AOSP APPS zip removes apps such as samsungs clock and others and installs the aosp one if thats what you mean, you dont need to remove anything

i doubt it, i dont know much about the differences between the i9100 and i9100g but i think that they cant use the same roms (although i might be wrong). However if there is a LPG rom for i9100g then i guess you could install this rom and then flash the i9100G's LPG kernel and it should work. Same with modem. But still i cant assure it'll work, i wouldnt risk it

[Q] Replace Omega V44 Toggle Bar with Power Toggles

Good people of XDA-Forum,
this is my first post after following this forum for quite a while. I am using an international SGS3 and have been trying a lot of different ROM's during the last few months. A few days ago I went back to something quite similar to the stock ROM: Omega ROM V44, based on JB 4.2.1
The problem that I am not able to solve without help is the following:
After installing Omega V44 my phone had this new toggle bar with toggles for WiFi, GPS, Sound, Screen rotation and Bluetooth. As I dod not find out how to customise this, I have installed the well known APP Power Toggles. The problem noc is that the new toggle-bar is there, but the old one wasn't replaced by it and is still in the first row?
I have been Googling for the answer 6-8 hours yesterday and today, but it looks like I'm the only guy on the planet who has this problem. It may or not have something to do with the Omega Settings. I saw screenshots of an Omega Settings menu in the Omega V44 Thread in the developer forum, but on my ROM I can't find the Omega settings.
I hope that someone can shed some light onto this sad story.
Best,
Jacob Kane
This is a pre release leaked software build and so is not fully complete. One of the things missing is the notifications control.
Also, a lot of mods don't work on this new leak properly as they're still being tweaked and there will be slow progress until Samsung release the source code for the kernel etc.
My advice would be to use v43 if you want to mod lots of things.

I saw screenshots of an Omega Settings menu in the Omega V44 Thread in the developer forum, but on my ROM I can't find the Omega settings.
I hope that someone can shed some light onto this sad story.
Best,
Jacob Kane

here you can also check this page and so happy with OMEGA coz it is widely supported by our great devs and very thankful with that
hope you find it helpful. goodluck
I would say that this is especially dificult without source code as:
1) The way toggles have been implemented by Google in 4.2 OSP is quite different from the way Samsung was doing it
2) Samsung's implementation of the new 4.2 behaviour is, again, different from both samsung's old implementation and Google's new one
So there's no way to adapt existing methods, one would have to decompile packages from the last leak and try to see how it works
Anyway, any updates on this will probably end up on wanam's 15-toggles thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876384

[Q] Wanam rom 6.2 volume booster, keypad, messaging app

Hi, since I'm not allowed to post in Wanam's thread I thought someone might be able to help me with my problem. I installed today wanam's latest rom (v6.2, MB5) and coming from foxhound, I was looking for 'rom options' or kernel options or any other advanced options, which ... weren't present anywhere. So I started going through the installed apps and I found 'MusicFx 1.4' (thinking that it may have something to do with boosting speaker's volume) which has no icon (wasn't running in background either) and there is no possible way to open that app up, which I then uninstalled. However I am now looking for a volume booster as I live and work in noisy/busy areas and Samsung's extra volume won't do the job still. Wanam advised everyone not to restore any app from a different build (because of something to do with MB5) so I'm confused about installing any volume booster mod.
I was also wondering if there is any way that I can get the blacked keyboard (stock, but dark theme, black buttons rather than gray) on this rom ? If so, can anyone tell me how do I do it?
And the last question, is it possible to port the 4.2 messaging app into this rom ? Foxhound rom has an option in the aroma installer to choose it and I find it better, faster and more efficient than the standard 4.1.2 messaging app as it has a quick reply feature and many design customizations also.
To make it more clear, I'm running WanamLite ROM 6.2 MB5, stock kernel (the kernel that comes with the rom, i haven't made any changes to it, but as far as I know it's a little tweaked for better performance & battery life), Android 4.1.2 and I'm looking for:
-volume booster
-dark themed 4.1.2 stock keyboard (available in FoxHound ROM)
-4.2 messaging app (available in FoxHound ROM)
Many thanks.
Look for the default_gain mod or one of the sound mods posted .

Please somebody teach me how to edit notification panel quick setting buttons

I am on Stock XWLST (odexed) rooted. I want the S4 or the latest S5 Toggles mod alone. I searched in theme section and found Toggles mod for deodexed ROMS only. I flashed one just to check but it failed.
So can you please share here the link if any such mod exists for odexed ROMS?
TIA.

So, none for odexed ROMS it seems.
Then atleast somebody please teach me how to edit the existing notification panel to bring Mobile Data, blocking mode, bluetooth, sound and screen rotation in the first five quick setting buttons as I am using them often.

Hi there - did you ever figure this out? My wife's S2 is running 4.1.2 and unlike my S3 running 4.3 it doesn't have the button in the top right once you pull the notification bar down to edit the quick setting buttons.
Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,
Mark
Hello , well would you mind to change the stock rom for a custom stock based one ? right now its all that I can think of as I cant find the mod alone , if you do so checkout disaster rom (pure debloated stock with no-nonsense stuff) or the revolution rom wich is also fully stock based but with the note 3 kitkat ui .
