First time writing on the forums but been following since original Evo 4g appeared. I have been running the CM10 on the S3 for a day and a fix or a work around for the camera is getting the app Camera Zoom FX I have been trying and testing out shots and images for 2 hours haven't had a single issue yet. Hope this helps let me know what you all find.

*Note: Found LG Camera Pro allows Samsungs 0-lag shutter feature. But camcorder closes app so if you stay on stills side everything works.

My suggestion is not to touch your phone. If you don't have the knowhow to do these things to your phone, then don't. A $500 paperweight sucks ass. Trust me, I've been there and done that.
Go to Teamwhiskey.com and read the guides section. That should get you going....

Check out my two part video series on going from completely stock to a custom ROM. I showcase Team Whiskeys Nero v3 w/voodoo. But, Nearly any other ROM can be inserted in place of nero. I agree completely. If he's already aware there's a lot of different froyo roms on xda, then he's probably been in the threads and looked around. If he doesn't posess the general computer knowledge to be able to do it by the information already provided in this forum, I would also recommend not doing it.

I think that was the most helpful suggestion yet.
How much did the front facing camera cost? A Nexus S wasn't much more than a Vibrant last time I checked, and it already has the front cam and gingerbread.

All ICS + JB roms have camera working, although some user sometimes got crashed app. The one isnt working yet is camcorder. You should use third party app called camera illusion if im not wrong.

That's when you use forum search. Nobody expects anyone to read through hundreds of pages of posts, but using search should be well within most people's capabilities.
You could rephrase your question to "I'm too lazy to read the 15 threads right below mine that talk about the official ICS wait that will finally bring a fully working rom, camcorder included."
Just search the next time. Even if it takes time. We're not your butler.

I agree with other people here saying use search, but I'm worried someone in the near future will do a search, find this and think they have a perfect answer. So I just wanted to add, videocam illusion cant record at a good framerate unless you set the resolution really low. As in, 640x480 = ~15FPS, 352x288 = ~22FPS. Good enough for some, but still a point worth thinking about before switching from a GB rom.
I love when people make threads like this, but then get bashed and never reply to any answers after that..

There are LOTS and LOTSA ICS/JB ROMs with fully working camera & camcorder.
But they're not for the Atrix...

I already spent half an hour reading through threads. It's got nothing to do with being lazy. What's the point in forums if you're not going to help? bimasakti85 reply was very useful which I why I thanked him. The others weren't.

Do you think that developers spend about half hour to build a rom?
It only took me literally 30 seconds to see it says "camcorder not working" RIGHT IN THE OP OF EACH ROM THREAD.

Sorry, but I don't agree. There is FAQ, tutorials, beginners guide... Some part is like helpdesk but problem is in lazy users. If someone spend a lot of time (more than half hour) to make all of this then show some respect and search before ask question.

While what he said isn't completely true, if you click the GIANT yellow link in epinter's thread, this pops up right in front of you.
Known bugs (see limitations/tips block below for more info):
No fingerprint navigation or unlock
Builtin video camera dont work.
Car dock audio.
All bugs from CM10 are present... be patient.
Not everything is going to be right in front of you, but it doesn't require hours of reading.
I post this theme because I am happy for ICS but not happy for lose my lapdock (pay it 99$), lose my 2 and half day battery, my camera with flash, no heating and many other things.

It would be better for you to donate to devs like th3_bill instead of posting threads like this. They ARE doing the work, and a LOT of work too! I am for one very appreciative of that. The issue lies with Motorola for doing the unspeakable.

Well First off I just wanted to say thank's to everyone for all there hard work and forget about the hater's out there.. We all know what we have here and in time it will become awesome and better than all the rest
Ok with that being said I was just wanting to say that on the new rom out for the Korean JB 4.1.2 The Cam isn't working at all and it say's 3g instead of 4g lol but it's still just as fast and for some reason my SD card isn't mounting at all the one in the phone it's self does but the SD one wont at all. And the Rotion isn't working either on my end. Other than that everything seem's to be running really smooth and lik I said before THANK'S for everyone's Hard Work

Because it was just released tonight for our phone lol So I flashed it and the guy who put it up there said if you find any bug's be sure to let him know well seeing how I can't yet comment in that section I made up a section in here for it lol

I'm not sure if you are intending this to sound like the camera and ext sd card issue that you experience are unreported issues, but the OP in the Dev thread states that the rear camera doesn't work and the external SD (the removable one) will not mount (it's not set up in the kernal and they can't do the proper edit to the kernel until the source code is available).

I know it says that now in the thread lol it didn't last night when he first posted so I was helping him lol
Can the camera be made to work with a market app? That's what we had to do with the inspire 4g when we first ported ICS.

Im not to sure i didn't run that for very long before i flashed back to ics lol Imma photo happy kinda guy so the cam is kinda a big deal on my end So im just gonna wait it out till we have a more stable Jellybean rom or even a better ics rom lol but you can try it but I don't think it's going to work seeing how the korean phone as the 13 mp cam and we have the 8 mp So it prolly won't but you never know lol

Although I'm not new to rooting/flashing/moding, or strolling through these forums for that matter ... however, since I am new to posting I've been relegated to sticking with the General Forum for the time being.
So, that being said ... I thought I would send a thank you to the guys (and possibly girls too, I don't know) who dev'd up the Whompasaurus ROM. I've enjoyed it greatly. Combined with some nice tools and apps, it has worked perfect for me. (Only change I would like would be a black status bar instead of the gray, but I know that can be modded in at some point)
To let you know, this would be best as a reply to the whomp rom in that thread, or you can just hit thank you on the original post.
