Overclocking Xperia mini - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

The phone is XPERIA MINI.
Unlocking boot loader done:good:
Flashed Custom kernel done [ Extended Stock Kernel ]:good:
Having a Stock ICS ROM in my phone
Now teach what should i do to overclock the phone
to the highest stable CPU frequency
Thanks

Of oc u need to have oced kernel.stock extended kernels only hace root and cwn with int.d tweaks.for oc u need to use krsh kernel v3 or mesa kernel of rage kernel.use wat suits ur need

So that means i will be able to overclock if use Krsh kernel?

If you put setcpu or No frills CPU control on your phone then the option to overclock will be there (if you have the correct kernal installed)
Just dont go whacking it all the way to to the top, take it in steps to find what's best for you as the mini is pretty quick anyway for its price.
I have mine at min 460 and Max 1209 gov Ondemand running CM9.0 RC1 FXP129 and its running great at the moment.

Overclock in system, instead of kernel?

Hi guys, i was wondering is possible to overclock this device (sk17i) without need to flash a custom kernel, but inserting the modules directly in the system, like the old X10 mini.
I already have root access, but i don't want to unlock the bootloader, cause i will lose DRM.
Can the overclock be done without kernel?
Where i can find the modules, and how i can put them in system files?
Thank you!
P.s. Sorry for bad english, I'm italian.

yes it is possible. download no frills cpu control and there you can overclock your mini pro with stock kernel.
my max clock freq on no frills on my mini pro sk17i is 1.024ghz. i think thats the limit for a stock kernel
I Know i can set the min and Max freq. of the core, but this is not the real "overclocking"... I want to raise the cpu over 1,2 GHz... and i'm pretty sure there are modules for doing it, without need of the kernel...
For example, the old X10 mini can be overclocked without need to flash custom kernels...

Nope you need coustom kernel.
Btw overclock eats battery...

1024 is STANDART cpu clock
But why other phones are capable to overclock without a custom kernel? (X10 mini for example)
There is really no way to overclock without kernel?

sadly, there are no modules avialable for now, why do you wanna overclock it? 1Ghz is pretty good for an HVGA phone

My bad so I guess nofrills only useful if you're on custom kernel

they are capable of overclocking without custom kernel because they had locked bootloader and it was imposible to flash a custom kernel which will alow us to have oc. because of that doixanh made oc modules for x8, x10 mini and x10 mini pro. these modules worked on stock kernel

it is posible but somebody has to write a oc module
Overclocking
What if I change the value manually by entering sys/device/system/cpufreq. In stock kernel ??

[Q] About OC Kernel Jasonstein

Im sry if wrong room
..
Im using
XperiaMIUI_Engineering | V03
bb .42 Global
kernel OC Jasonstein 1.6GHz
but on my hallon (mt15i), why still processor with 1.0GHz ?

Then you don't use OC kernel.
Jason maded 2 kernel.
1. Overclockable
2. Non OC, powersave kernel.

[Q] which kernal?

So i want to ask which kernel is better for xperia mini pro and LWW with Real ICS r6 beta3 ... KernelPanic v1.25 or KRsH Kernel v3.0 .. currently me and my friend using KRsH Kernel v3.0 .. it work perfectly .. but i just saw a guy using kernelPanic v1.25 has a higher benchmark than us .. so experience members .. please help us

With Kernel panic your 3D in Games etc will increase, thats what i noticed and i also think krsh Kernel has higher battery drain

wow thank you i will try kernel panic
I have used Extended Stock Kernel, KrSH Kernel n Mesa kernel too with same rom,but different versions, n noticed few things like KrSH kernel needs more battery whereas Mesa kernel saves your battery whereas Extended stock Kernel gives good performance.
Though, Didn't No-frills CPU control, a great app.

I have tried KrSH kernel and MESA kernel.
MESA kernel achieves lower battery drain by undervolting your cpu. But with MESA kernel StabilityTest 2.5 is not working correctly (independent of cpu voltage) so I have no clue where is the problem, weather kernel is not working correctly or stability test 2.5 is buggy.
on KrSH I don't like that it has way too many cpu scaling frequencies (too many frequency changes are contra productive) and it's not patched as MESA is.
I have no experience with KernelPanic....
Thank for the feedback about the kernel
Don't "PANIC!"...just use it...

Flashing & Overclocking Risks? (Xperia Sola)

Hi guys... im just new to Xperia and Smartphone devices.... So that i have some questions///
My Device is Xperia Sola White...
Bootloader is Unlocked... Kernel:Vengeance v.1.24
Stock ROM: but modified by me...
Question is... I recently flash my phone using flash tool just to try deffirent roms/./ I thnk i flash it more than 5 in a month... is there any risks about that?
another is..the kernel supports oc upto 1.3 ghz..is their any risk also in Ocing lyk the pc's??
current settings in No frills is: Min: 100mhz Max: 1ghz. Smartassv2 , sio
Thanks in advance

I also flash too much ROMs in a month... I suggest don't flash too much roms in a month... About overclock, try not too overclock until too much cause your phone will heat up...

As we can't change the CPU voltage inside the phone so we strongly recommended don't using the overclock kernel.
flashing wont affect ur phone but overclocking can affect ur phone
Thank you... For all the advices

Help me to flash kernel

I'm using Xperia mini
Ics 4.0.4
Base 0.587
Now I don't know which kernel to flash
I want to use zellycream ROM
And I don't have cwm installed but my phone is already unlocked.
Can I flash any kernel I want or not?
Can I flash it using SE unlocked relocker tool?

zelly cream is ICS based ..u can use any ics based kernels like lupus , mesa , panic , rage , kapa ,etc

I have noticed that some of them has overclocking system
Are those kernel effect on my device even if I don't use 1.6ghz or 1.4 or something like that?

Also you can use stock kernel .. and flash CWM with X-parts app from playstore

No.The overclocking feature is just an added benefit. It's the user's choice if he/she wants to over/under clock his device. If you overclock your device higher than it is safe (more than 1.6) you would likely fry your motherboard. If you underclock it lower then you will have lags. Generally 1.2 GHz or 1.4 GHz is considered a safe option.
