I am running Condemned CM 7.2 Stable V24 (2.3.7) , witch is really a good room , dont get me wrong however my wife is running his stock room witch is 2.1 and is very fast , on the other hand Condemned CM 7.2 Stable is really slow and it give the sensation that the phone is not to powerful to run this room.
So i am looking for a room that it feels fast , and that is stable any recommendation ? i don't mins going back to 2.1
thank for your time

First, I find that the thing that most determines whether a ROM is fast or not, is how many apps I have installed, or specifically the size of the apps I have installed; whether I store them on the SD card, in the ROM itself or just in regular RAM.
As far as a fast stock ROM, I always liked xtrSENSE.
IMHO, I can't do without the improvements to Android made after 2.1, and each further release makes it harder and harder for me to go backwards at all.

Hmmm, strange that it should be that sluggish. Do you have a LOT of text or MMS messages? They take up room for good unless you delete them and they'll slow your phone down. You should find the xtrSENSE ROM in the Droid Eris Development forum easily.

Hi
I've had my Hero for aboutttt 7 weeks now and i've been tinkering mainly with 1.5 ROMs.
I've settled with MoDaCo 3.2 which is blazingly fast and has some decent features.
Recently i've tried some 2.1 roms, Villain 5.4, BeHero+ and some others. I tried Villain 5.5 yesterday and kept it until today.
I really liked it, the stock look, the incredible amount of features and general improvements to the interface from 1.5.
Now. Every 2.1 ROM i've used has had something in common. They're all incredibly slow. I mean, once the app is running it's generally ok but switching between apps can be incredibly slow.
Closing an app and sliding between the home screens is extremely sluggish and opening messages can take up to 10 secs.
Keyboard input is about as flat as the expression on my face. And once the keys are recognised the phone vibrates as much as a sex toy...
Don't get me wrong, Villain5.5 is probably the best 2.1 ROM out there, it just doesn't seem to perform well.
So what makes 2.1 so slow?
Is it because it's a stock kernel? I see MoDaCo has "Teknologist"?
Is the Hero just too lame?
This has probably been answered more times than you're willing to count. I'm just frustrated to the point at which i stuck my phone in my mouth and proceeded to nibble on the corner.
Try SenseHero 2.2 - it's fast. Really fast, I think even faster than MoDaCo 3.2.
2.1 isn't any slower than 1.5!

I really, really disagree there
When we are talking about responsiveness anyway.
Responsiveness of any 2.1 ROMs are far beyond what I would like, VillainRom is the fastest I've used but still not what I'd like for my main phone. Esp vs ROMs like the Kimera 1.8... which is the fastest 1.5 ROM I've ever used (and now sticking to)
TBH I'm not surprised, with no official GSM Hero release, there's no fine-tuned drivers for it etc. Ports can get it running on a GSM Hero but in no way are those builds really built to be used on the phone, they're just modified by XDA Devs. I think thats what makes the wait for the 2.1 from HTC even greater because that should hopefully be the 2.1 we could all finally move to.
(...once XDA roots and tweaks it of course )
to check how fast it is, linpack is better or the benchmark - softweg one?
Running SenseHero2.2 now and have done for a couple days.
Feels very responsive and works very well
SlideVillain 1.1.0 is actually really pretty fast, and I currently use that as my everyday ROM. I used to be a devout taskiller user, but I have now uninstalled Taskiller as you just don't need one on SlideVillain.
Also, the new SuperHero ROM from Villain is unbelievably fast. It is a semi-vanilla ROM, although only available to donators for the moment in a closed Beta (there are still little bugs needing ironed out).
Not all 2.1 ROMs are slow though. The SuperHero ROM is actually as fast as the Desire in use. See http://www.villainrom.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=507 for some info about it.

I currently have FroydVillain 1.7.2 rom on my phone.
I want to try something else because I had some problems with it.
Sometimes the phone is laggy, the messages load time is really slow, sometimes I don't get call and can't make them( ex: someone call me and it does the same thing as if my phone was closed), youtube problems and many other things.
Still there is some things I like about it, the quality of the camera(not really the interface), the easy user interface ( don't really like that half circle in other version), and other things.
So for a guy like me, who dosen't use his phone to play with it or you know, mess with the cpu (and other things like that) what other rom would you advise me.
(I would still like to have something with Android version 2.2.1 or newer, don't know the difference between each but I don't want to have less options or I don't know what)
Thanks.
+ The battery die fast.
In my opinion floyo 1.2 is the best 2.2 rom. no matter what i flash i always end up coming back to it.
I'm using Elelinux's latest Hero ROM, which is very smooth and stable so far. Also, since it's based on CM7 (Android 2.3), you can theme the hell out of it if you like.
Compared to the FroydVillains I've used in the past it maybe isn't quite as fast, but the difference is minimal. Although if you really need some speed, this 2.2-based rom is probably the way to go.
Try some of the latest Gingerbread ROMs. Very smooth and good battery life. If you absolutely must have Froyo, you're not going to find much that improves on what you've already got.
Sent from my Hero using XDA Premium App
Cronos is another good Gingerbread ROM as well.
my choice:
2.1 : Sense rom for sure, elelinux's repack is good
2.2 : floyo 1.2, really great!
2.3 : elelinux's one, but with andriod 2.3.2 or before
going to try out the new android 2.3 with sense! hope i will stick on it after
you could try out the wildfire port of gingerbread with sense 2.1. its really cool and quite smooth!
Nothing better than nightly CyanogenMod 7.1! No more invisible menus and it is fast loading ^^

Now that CM7 is stable, what do you prefer to use between these roms?
I'm using Crysis' work because of its fantastic looks, but everyone is cheering for the CM.
Whats the pros and the cons for each rom? And for the MIUI, whats so special about it?
I'm not negative towards any rom and respect each developer but trying to see the difference more clearly.

i tested both 3 rom and i prefer miui.
crysis's sensation : good looking touchwiz rom .. but that's all
cm7 : pure google experience with performance. now stable , with more customization. have many themes out there to be flash.
miui : for me , this is the best rom if you find a "good-looking" rom. it have many theme to be download , customize (with your own style) , lock screen , and it's stable too. miui is easier to download theme because no need to be flash , just download and change .. it also have various lockscreens , you named it.
i suggest you test all the rom , your own experience is better than my suggestion.
You're comparing 3 totally different roms, and i do mean totally different.
I haven't tried the sensation rom but just looking at its thread it looks extremely good for a samsung rom, cm7 on the other hand is pretty plain looking but can be polished up, while miui on the other hands puts every rom to shame in the looks department... however its the slowest of all the roms.
And im not talking about in benchmarks, im talking about responsiveness especially when launching apps. I've been using miui for months now and simply hate that its so laggy when launching apps. Sometimes i have to wait 1 second after i tap it for it to actually start, i've gotten tired of the lag so i switched to cm7... every app launches instantly no matter what.
You really have to try them all because they're all so different, just do a cwm backup incase you don't like the rom so you can switch back with no fuss.

Totally agree and just one point from me.Take care of the kernel you are using when flashing between those roms.I think siyah is compatible with the 3 of them

So for one who isn't interested in optimizing and adding stuff all the time, which one is more stable or easy to go at?
And how about battery life, which has the longest?
ok this might be a stupid question but i can't decide which rom to choose. i need a rom that is fast and smooth also fun to use. can anyone suggest the best rom. I can't use miui nb 1.12.2 because its giving problems and 1.11.18 is kinda slow.
ICS - Awesome, it gives your phone a new feel, a new look. It's different from older things. (Gingerbread, Froyo, etc.) But, it's not the fastest, it is fast, but not the fastest.
ICS is definitely fun to use.
MIUI - I don't know.. I like it, but it looks too.. professional? In a way? Like.. I feel you can customize it less. I like the features, but I dun know, reminds me of when I had my 3GS, ahah. It's fast, not as fast as CM7 or a Bionix 2.2 ROM, but it's pretty fast.
I think ICS is a little slower than MIUI, but that little bit of lag is worth all the cool little features ICS has.
Edit; But if you do want to stay on MIUI, I suggest this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364390
It was running great when I was using it.
ICS = no gps
That is the killer for me. After the "Hardware fix" my gps usually locks within 15-20sec. I use it every day. Another reason I stay clear of GB ROMS (non CM7/Miui) is because you need a very old kernel to use gps.
Thanks friends. im going to try ics and see how it works. but wich ics rom do you recommend?

I am running this one on my Vibrant. It is smooth and fast. Very crisp, and not many problems for a Beta version.
Hi!
Can i flash another custom rom if i have installed Themyth basic??
and, actually, which is the most smooth and stable??
sorry for my english
you sure can. just make sure to clear cache and some require you to factory reset i think.
Ive tried cm 7.2 KANG, i liked it alot, Im now running TheMyth Advance, with some small tweaks. with NO problems at all.
your best to read the ROMS yourself and see what fits you most
okay men!
can you solve me another question?
the battery works right but, when i turn on the wi-fi, the battery is discharged so fast!!
after flashed the rom, i didnt do a full wipe, maybe that the problem¿
Yes Wifi consumes more battery, but not so fast as you mentioned.
If not satisfied still, you can try Battery Calibration from the market. As the name says it will calibrate your battery
I can recommend the LeWa-Rom (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506952). I don't know if it is *the* fastest, but it ist by far the best one I used until now.
There's some tricks and tweaks regarding the setup (it is in chinese at first for some users, but it is easy to change that), but all in all, it is brutally fast, I haven't had a Force Close since I installed it and the battery consumption, especially when using it very much, is actually pretty good.
Give it a try, official support starts this friday, I am pretty psyched to test the final!

All of those points don't do much at all but cm 7.2 is the fastest based on PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. It gets under my skin when noobs have a quadrant score war
Sent from the Nokia Galaxy Nexus Arc 5530 Live with Walkman S2 XL XE S X 3G CDMA LTE T-mo PSN Certified Plus with Beats Audio
i dont use quadrant because the score is nothing for me, when i test rom i go for look and feel and how it works.
but i think that journal disabler is giving some boost
