please help, my Photon is totally DEAD - Motorola Photon 4G

hi, today my photon freezes when I'm calling my friend
i tried to press the power button to turn if off but it won't shut down
i press any other button and still there's no response from the phone.
so in desperation i pulled out the battery
and the phone is dead.
i tried to install the battery again but the phone won't turn on at all
i tried to "rest" for a day but still the phone won't turn on
i've tried connecting it to wall charger but still , dead.
the battery is full cause i've tried it on my friend's photon.
so the battery is not the issue.
can anybody give me any solution ?
i can't send the phone back to sprint cause i lived overseas.
i really need help here
any suggestions are welcomed, thx.

When you plug it in to AC does it show any sign of life?

A few more details would help us help you.
It's (should be) common knowledge that you can help fix something when you don't know what's under the hood.
Give us some info. Are you stock, rooted custom rom kernel etc.
Does anything occur on your phone at any time? Lights or a vibrate when charging? Do you get to the Motorola screen? If so Are you familiar with rsd and fast boot?
To get help around here we need to see a thorough post that explains all of the details. I assure you someone will attempt to come to your aid

Okay here's the thing:
the photon is unlocked and using 197 SBF
rooted and unlocked (cause i install the beat audio mod)
prior to this , nothing is wrong
the phone works normally
and suddenly it hangs / freezes when i called my friend with it
so out in desperation i took off the battery
and it never turn on since
totally dead
not even motorola logo on the screen
the battery is 90% cause i tried my battery on my friend's photon and it shows 90% charge
so i don't think this is the battery problem
i tried connect it to the wall charger, nothing happened not even LED turn on
i tried connecting to my laptop usb port and the white led come out but still it won't turn on
with and without battery, when i connect it to my laptop the white led comes out.

Try to pull the battery more times, I know that this issue could be from pudding sbf on some Photons.
One man from here had the similar problem, flashed derpunlock.sbf, booted and after some minutes it died, he had to pull the battery, wait a few minutes and again. After full sbf flashing, it was fine.

i've leave the battery out of the phone for more than 24 hour but still it won't turn on.
the weird things is that it was working fine for many months prior to this.
and i never do anything on the phone .
i mean i didn't flash or upgrade or anything.

This sounds like hardware issue...

if it is a hardware issues
why does the LED showing white color when connected to the computer ?
though the led is white when connected to the computer with or without battery in it.
can anyone please help ?

Try a different charger. Mine shows white when your too dead to boot. Left it on about 30 min then a battery pull and booted up to charging screen
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app

Ohh and check the battery contacts.make sure they're not dirty
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app

Is it recognized by rsd lite with the white led? Most probably not. Just asking.

AH! I'm having the same issue! No answers?
NOOOOOO!

Phone bricked, cannot charge, need help ASAP

I need help with this NOW if anyone can. I figured I'd go ahead and make a thread for it so it would get seen. I was trying to update to 2.1 and something went wrong. Long story short the battery drained and now even when it's plugged into the wall all it does is flash its little red light. If I can get it to charge I think I can get things working again but as it stands I don't even know if it is charging. If I have it plugged into the wall and remove the battery the led turns green. If I put the batt back in afterwards it will go off after a bit and eventually "turn on" (in this case that just means that the screen comes on but is completely black but backlit) but there is no led indication at all so i don't know if it's charging or what. It doesn't seem to be. I really need help asap. Thanks in advance.
Silly question perhaps.. have you tried putting it into flash mode for SEUS (phone off hold back key, plug in USB cable)...?? does it register the phone?
Open pc companion hold back button and insert the micro Ian until it says stop it should then tell you your software is already the latest but if there's a problem you can use the repair option. Hth

Tried it just now, nothing.
My suggestion would be to plug it in for a few hours then try again. Or take battery out completely and try the back button without a battery. Might work. Might not. Sorry. Doubt the phone is bricked tho.

Just out of interest how long have you left it on the charge for? Because the red light flashes while charging until 10% and I remember once when my battery fully drained it did that for a few minutes until phone turned on again. Leave it for a while if you haven't done so.
The reason I ask is, incase you saw red light flashing and took it off charge straight away thinking its faulty? Like I said it sometimes takes a while to turn on fully when battery has died.
Edit: I know this is unhelpful, but that's why when you update via SEUS it says to ensure battery has 50%

I got he same problem 3 weeks ago. i could not get the phone to boot anymore even after trying all the unbrick method available here. so i sent it to sony ericsson service and they changed the motherboard.
okay, been charging for a while now and still have the red light. Pretty confident it isn't charging.
Plz try another usb cablr. I know about 20 people whoms usb cable accidently died and the phones cannot charge anymore ....

But the phone won't even boot. Will the battery charge while it's off? or when it's on a black screen? I know 2.1 lets it charge when it's off now, but the OP said the update screwed up.
Other suggestions that may take some time:
1. Find someone else who has an X10 and charge it in their phone.
2. Bring it to your phone provider and ask them to charge it.
3. Bring it to your phone provider and exchange the battery (temporarily?).
4. Buy an external wall charger (one that lets you charge the battery directly, not in the phone).
I ended up bypassing the phone and charging the battery directly via a macgyvered usb cable. Don't ask. lol. But I got it charged enough to use the se update tool and restore it back to the original rom. I'll try the update to 2.1 later after I get this thing charged all the way up. Thanks guys.

[q] htc amaze bricked?

was running quicksense from about january dont know exactly which version.
phone completely died on me,
connected it to the charger and it turned on to the green "htc" logo,
but then it turns off..
so i tried booting to recover; holding volume down + power, with no luck.
tried it via connected to computer, no luck.
with & without batter still nothing..
weird thing is, SOMETIMES the charging light will keep blinking.
also SOMETIMES, the screen stays off, and the vibration feedback when pressing the home, menu, back, and search keys, virbates..
do i have the first bricked amaze or what?
--the search key "restarts the phone"
i can tell because the keys no longer make the phone vibrate when pressed after pressing the search key.
I'm betting my money on you having a earlier recovery installed that doesn't allow proper boot if the battery is dead... crappy part about that? it doesn't let the battery charge either... Find someone with an Amaze, or Sensation, charge your battery in their phone for 30 minutes, then try your phone again. Also, after your phone is charged, you probably want to reflash your recovery to a new one that doesn't exhibit this problem.
*just a wild guess, but it makes sense, it's happened to me*
*note, you could just have unrelated catastrophic hardware failure, lol*
As long as you have s - off you can't brick it.

S-Off isn't possible right now, S-On-Unlocked is safe. although having the recovery that doesn't support charging is like a temp-brick. You just need to charge your battery in another phone.
Or splice the battery directly to the wires for half an hour. That's how I charged when my charging port was the broked
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Can you at least get into adb? You could try accessing it and then using adb to reboot into bootloader/recovery via "abd reboot recovery" or "adb reboot bootloader"
Did this get resolved? Just wanted to know if my hunch was right.
It sounds like a dead battery. The blinking light means (from my experience) that its charging but not enough juice to use yet. Once my phone died and it blinked for a couple of minutes. I tried turning on, but battery wasn't juiced enough. After a few minutes, the light turned solid and was charging and had enough power to turn on.
I would try a new battery. Good news is you're not bricked, and most likely, not even soft bricked

I've had a very similar issue to those mentioned here. I have the latest cwm recovery installed (five point something). After wiping battery stats my amaze went into a cycle of booting up normally then automatically restarting after about 30 seconds. Now it shows the amber light while charging, but will not boot at all, not even into recovery. adb says device not recognized, and the amber light flashes periodically and shuts off if i press the power button... should I trash this phone and get a galaxy s II ?

[Q] HTC Thunderbolt Bricked, Won't Charge Or Turn On

as you read in the topic title. My HTC thunderbolt is dead. nothing. no yellow / green light at all. This has happened before..but a simple battery pull for about 20 minutes and a restart got me going again. Now...it won't work. I'm not a noob where I flashed the wrong radio or something stupid like that. I had fully functioning Thunderbolt with LiquidSmooth ICS JMOD MR2. Before my phone decided to commit permanent suicide, it was rebooting to the boot screen every hour or so to the LiquidSmooth boot animation while I was using PowerAmp. Then I shut if off normally (just like last time..) and now it won't charge turn on, or do ANYTHING. It won't even go to the HTC logo where I can go to clockwork or the hBOOT menu. I'm running out of options. If anyone could give me advice. That would be great, as I cannot afford another one :___;
Thanks for your time = ]

Flashing the radio is the only thing u can flash and completely brick your phone with no fix if you flash wrong or the radio is for a different device then I think your just gonna have to move on to a different phone.

I had 4.0 LiquidSmooth ICS JMOD my custom ROM on my phone ever since the rom first came out.and it was perfectly...fine...
and this same problem happened when I had GB ThunderShed CM7..but my gf told me to pull the battery out and leave it out for 20 minutes..then it put it back in. It worked. She did this many times with her Droid 1. Since it was problematic with this issue. (first android phone OF COURSE its going to have problems) Now she's an iPhone user i'm constantly trying to convert back lol
anyway...as stated before..it's now done it again and this time it's totally dead. my phone was trying to tell me something I bet.
How old is your phone?
Nothing to do with radios or ROMs. A bricked phone will still receive a charge. You need to try a different battery ( preferrably 1 that is charged and for the Thunderbolt) once you get it booted into whatever ROM you're using, go to menu, settings, power and make sure that "fastboot" isn't checked. By default fast boot is checked by HTC and by most ROMs. What fastboot does is just put your phone into "hibernate" much like a PC does.
So when you turn your phone off, it appears that its off, but its really just sleeping. If the battery dies and fastboot is checked, the phone is hella confused about its current state. HTC did this by default for a better customer experience, but its kinda dumb and bad in the long run as your phone never gets a freaking break. Lol
Thats why I'm suggesting getting a good battery to boot up to a ROM or whatever, turn off fastboot, properly turn off the phone then charge your battery. It may take up to 10+ min before you to get an orange light that'll flash then eventually go solid. Let it go solid for about 20+ min to be on the safe side, then boot
Good luck man

Man I bought one off craigslist that did the exact same thing. Had it about a week. Started random reboots so I was restoring a backup. While trying that recovery randomly rebooted a couple times them finally restore finished. It bootlooped so I pulled the battery and that was the last time it did anything. PC won't see it, won't get a charge light. Put a fully charged battery from my other tbolt in it. Still nothing. It literally died in my hands. I guess a hardware failure was the cause. Also picked up the wireless charging battery cover to try my power mat to see if that would at least make the charging light come on ....nope

Thank you so much everyone for your advice, concern and help..but nothing can fix or repair hardware failure to this extent
I got a used HTC Rezound. It's amazing...it's everything the T-Bolt should have been

Long story short - I have a stock Droid X2 in which the device doesn't even boot (as in I don't even get the logo to turn on). The battery is good - I have two devices, switched out the batteries - perfect. The device will ONLY have the green LED light up when it it plugged into a computer and WITHOUT the battery in the device. It doesn't react this way with a wall charger, and it won't light up when the battery is in.
That being said, I obviously can't get the thing into recovery mode either. It's really frustrating. ANY suggestions are appreciated - including taking the damn thing apart. I have a feeling I'm going to be doing a motherboard replacement.. but I really hope not! The only other thing I can think of it something is wrong in the flow of power in the device.. ?
The second device that actually works is obviously my main phone - but is busted up badly after a mishap. I'm probably going to end up using this unbootable Droid for scrap.. but would prefer not to.
have you tried to get into RSD mode to reflash your firmware?

I can confidently say I've had this happen before. The device is UN brickable, do don't worry. 100 % of the time it was the battery. Charge your spare battery fully then insert and POWER/DOWN BUTTONS
enter rsd and flash 2.3.4 firmware...

It is not the battery, I have a spare battery that is fully charged. Nothing.
And both batteries work in the second device.

[Q] Droid Razr will not turn on OMAP4430 (Rooted)

Okay i first want to say. THE BUTTONS DO NOT HELP. I hope you saw that and thats all I am ever seeing in every forum about this out there. My phone will not turn on. It died completely as I thought I had 10% left and it would last 30 seconds but it didn't. I plugged it in and it started charging and when it got to 30% i tried to turn it on and nothing happened. Let it charge more and nothing. Plugged it into the computer and pressed the buttons and all that came up was OMAP4430 which from what i read is something that looks for the bootloader. I have done alot as in taking it apart changing the battery thinking maybe its shot, tried also to directly charge the battery, all the buttons do nothing, taking out the cards and charging and pressing the buttons doesn't help.
I was thinking that the something happened to the bootloader... From what i read at least. Is it possible to boot the phone with the bootloader on the sd card?

If you use the USB cable (the original Motorola cable) can you see the phone under devices on your PC? If so, then you can probably use RSD lite or Matt's Droid RAZR Utility to reflash back to the stock ROM (do a Google search; if you have trouble finding the info let me know and I will see if I can find the links for you).

Have you tried reinstalling the Motorola drivers on your PC? I think you can download them from Motorola. I really don't know if that will work, but it is one thing I would try if I was in your situation.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006391 .Looks like you tried to do same as in the thread... aka deleted bootloader. Currently there's no sollution except replacing board or you coul try to safe your phone using whirleye's post in same thread about OMAP boot rom code.
