This can be done, but only with programs that work with themes.

Why would you make the background transparent? There is nothing behind, would be just black then. Just edit the background on your PC to set the opacity/transparency to lower.

Which file, plz?
Google is your friend:
http://mobilecon.info/transparant-status-bar-in-android.html
So using this dirty tutorial, make the .png files transparent yourself and place back in the apk then reflash or find the equivalent files in say the Miui framework-res.apk file, extract them, then add them to your stock framework-res.apk file using 7zip/winrar etc and flash/copy back.
Will take you 5 mins and teach you much about theming any aspect of your framework with out having to recompile applications.

Yes, tried it but doesn't work that way on Xperia. Seems that systemui has something to do with it.
Also tried the files from MIUI Rom, didn't work either.
Ah, crap.
I've heard of ways to do it on Gingerbread but not on ICS.
I've noticed using Miui and having a clear status bar but then using another launcher causes the status bar to go black.

It's not just changing some pngs, there is smali edits and some value edits to drawables.xml. I made it for CM9, but I did not manage to edit incoming notification color, so it did not look so nice. (notification_header_bg in drawables.xml. I guess it needs a smali edit, but I did not find it..). And in stock Sony firmware the mod messes up the whole statusbar.
so until now there is no Transparant Status Bar for XS , right ?
i miss my transparant status bar on my ray ... :crying: :crying:

Yes it is, in MIUI Rom. But I totally don't like MIUI.
How does MIUI get clear status bar even when an ICS build? What's so special about MIUI?

{ The only way you get transparency in the lockscreen is to use the same live wall for both the home and the lockscreen,for now there is no other solution }
Check the below link and you will get your answer

Or use simplistic framework with simplistic control app. Working with different wallpaper

Your right.
THE BLACK STATUSBAR OR GREY on homescreen - Lockscreen..
where all the icons are "projected" like wifi, data clock etc... i dont want the icon
but the statusBAR png itself
Here is what I could come up with (based on a previous post)
(screenshot)
Using simplistic framework, you can choose NOT to display the status bar in lockscreen. But, you can slide down once to show the status bar and twice to show the drop down menu.
Good luck.
Edit: the screenshot is terrible, sorry about that.

[MOD] 26/04 Black background app drawer and scrollable wallpaper enabled Touchwiz

Hello guyz...
Let me present you Touchwiz UX Jelly Bean Launcher with Black app drawer background and wallpaper scrolling ON...
ONLY FOR JB
I am not a developer...I just changed some values in the seclauncher2.apk and got this. This was developed for those who
1. want scrolling wallpaper
2. and for those who gets annoyed by the transparent app drawer background when white or any faint wallpaper is set as homescreen...
It really gets hard to see the icons and the icon labels when such a whitish wallpaper is set..This is the reason I wanted it...So thought of sharing with u guys
I am posting 3 apks...Wallpaper scrolling is kept ON in all of three apks...If want to disable it let me know...
1. full black background...
2. 75 % black background...
3. 50 % black background...
HOW TO:
Pretty simple...
1. Rename /system/app/SecLauncher2.apk to Seclauncher2.apk.bkp (for backup)
2. Copy the downloaded SecLauncher2.apk in the /system/app
3. Change permission: rw-r--r--
4. Reboot. Thats it :good:
Bugs: You tell me.
Cant say whether it will work on i9070p or not as i havent tested on it yet...but it should work as the changes are not related to OS.
Credits: dr30ma for his tutorial :good: thanks man
Downloads:
1. Full black - 2.68 MB
2. 75% black
3. 50% black

happy flashing

I believe if you replaced your launcher with trebuchet you could remove the darkened overlay.
