I heard jellybean 4.1 was released to the AOSP open source project. Can we now get a full JB rom on the razr now????
They are still working on it. Since the changes from ics and jb aren't great as gb>ics, it will probably work good.
Just have patience and don't make haste on the developer
Yes I'm positive it can. If the htc hd2 can run jb, then this phone should be no problem. Just be patient KY friend.

So are most devs waiting for the rezounds ics ota to leak or are some working on porting ics from the sensation leak and or the nexus? I know it will be a while, but was just wondering if anyone knew anything.

I think Dmeadows started on porting the ICS leak from the Sensation but not sure if he is still working on it.
Rezound is scheduled to get the OTA update soon based on what HTC said.

We don't have a kernel to run it. You can port sensation gingerbread for example because we have a gingerbread kernel. I am also not sure how it would work out with the larger screen resolution.
Not that I talk to the devs, but I'm guessing if you want everything to be working, it's best to wait for the manufacturer to release the compatible files/drivers/etc instead of trying to hack things together because it just gets messy and nothing will work that well. I'm guessing once HTC releases the official ICS build you'll see AOSP ports shortly after.
sry have to get 10 replys
With jb being released to aosp would it be possible to use the ics kernal and jb code to it up and running? Sorry I'm a newb.

Yes, the JB and ICS kernel are the same, we have to wait for the developers to get us a working build of JB.
thank you for replying with this information. and thanks to all the developers for building the roms.
I looking at my magic 8 ball and it says a JB ROM is most likely in the distant future.
I have never built a room, but i would think this would take a lot less time then ice cream sandwich, especially if its the same kernels and radios. Now undoubtedly if we get official jellybean it'd use newer kernels then we have now. And since we can use the same radios and kernels, i would think the locked bootloader wouldn't be an issue. Bit I'm a newb and could be wrong.

You're right in one aspect I think, it won't take as long as ICS did, but still, the source is under 24 hours old, I would give them at least a few days, if not a week or two to get a good ROM built...

I didn't expect it to be right away, i do know these things take time. This was merely a plausibility question then a why isn't it done question.

Ah ok. Well, yes. I don't think it'll take as long as it did with ICS, but then again, you never know.. There could be some major hiccup along the way and delay it, or it could be done by tomorrow.. I'm hoping for the second one in that But we'll see
Personally, I think that we won't see Jelly Bean from Motorola, if we get it, will be thanks to the dev community...
i read somewhere on a XDA port for galaxy nexus i think. That JB is almost the same as ICS but it need a modification in ramdisk to work, unless what it wont boot.
So without an unlocked bootloader and/or KEXEC we're done
I am trying to get my head around porting ROMs...but my severe lack of knowledge has been a roadblock so far. If someone can and want to join hands in this venture, they are more than welcome...PM me with the details and we will take it forward...
Always remember, great things have small beginnings.
Cheers!
Just saw that the source code for JB has been released and I was wondering if that means we should be seeing some Note optimized versions soon. Any opinions or matters of fact?

ive been reading around, some DEVs have droped development for ICS and started working on JB.
so yeah any day now you will be surprised to come here and see a JB ROM =)
cant wait !
I hope so! ICS seems so boring now that JB is a reality lol. I'm pretty excited too.

While I'm not a a dev, I believe that a JB rom will only be released once the ICS Kernel Source is released. Due to the supposed similarity between ICS and JB, the ICS kernel source will enable building a JB rom for the Note quite simple (I would suppose).
So, expect them around the time the ICS Kernel source is released. When that is released, we will also be getting official CM9 builds.

Sounds about right to me. I would LOVE to get some vanilla JB on my Note!

My hope for JB (and the ICS kernel source) is to get a little better battery life on this otherwise great phone.

Bump
The CyanogenMod team is "actively working" on a CM10 ROM for the I717.
It's in the OP of their CM9 post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28889254.

Yeah I had v1.5 Emily and it was awesome. I'm sure a JB rom by them would be sick.

just wait! It will come when the devs are ready to release it. Enjoy some delicious ICS in the meantime.
I'm sure it will be a better version of some branded JB upgrades, but my concern is how good will the S-Pen be supported?
Is any developers working on the latest aosp jelly bean 4.2.1 for the droid DNA? I believe its possible to get it on this phone working. Soon the jelly bean 4.2.2 will be out. I'm new to HTC so does HTC release updates often to new versions? Im the kind of guy that likes the latest versions.

We all do and currently it's not supported

Yes there is someone working on it. I think he's actually working more on CM10 currently than he is on AOSP, but once he gets CM10 running it won't be too hard to get stock AOSP running. Here's his post in the development section where you can track his progress (on CM10 anyways.)

I know I'm looking far ahead, but could the Rez theoretically get 5.0 before the fall? Unofficially of course
Currently loving pure jb

Just saw that article, thanks.. I guess it will be much easier for the rez to upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3
Yeah but any version of JB ob our phone is still AOSP. Once we truly get JB as an ota, then we could hope for anything more. My $.05, we won't even get it.
