I added APN to my Rogers S3, but it does not stay. Everyone time I reboot my phone, the APN got deleted and set back to be the Rogers default LTE one.
Anybody have an idea why it does that?
Can I add the other APN into the default APN configuration, so it won't be wiped out after the phone reboots?
Thanks!
Nobody had this issue before?

Hey xda'ers.
So I made the mistake of flashing Modoco's custom ROM to my Hero, without first writing down the APN settings in the Telus ROM. Now, I have no HSPA connection and no APN in my phone.
Would someone be so kind as to post all the APN settings from their Telus HTC Hero?
Much appreciated.
EDIT: Alright, I called Telus. Apparently it's some real easy APN settings. All you need to fill in in your APN is the actual "APN" field as:
sp.telus.com
Name it whatever you want. Done. Got my data back. Hopefully this helps people in the future.

I recently Tried to use my ATT SIM with my Dinc4G, I had to add an APN but it worked 100%, Voice and Data.
When I went back to my Verizon SIM, I found I had no data...
It hasn't come back at all for a couple days now, when I reset t o defualt APN I see the Verizon APN and even got screenshots of the settings
Problem is it changes back to some APN with wrong settings almost immediately, and I cannot change that APN.
Adding New a New APN causes that APN to disappear, and the name of the locked one to change. The information is still wrong, can't be changed and I have no data...
At a loss here, can't figure out whats happening. I even put my SIM in my Galaxy Nexus... and THAT didn't have a data connection either....
Are you rooted?
I've had the same problem after testing out an AT&T SIM, and there seems to be something wrong with the way Dinc4 tries to reset APN data to defaults.
There might be a better/easier/more proper way to fix it, but the only one I found was to edit APN database directly using a SQLite editor. Obviously, needs root access for that.
If you are, in /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases check telephony.db and cdmaapn.db files.

I tried with the default T-mobile AP, which is the old one, and I tried the new one. When neither of those worked, I called T-MO and got their help. They created a new AP using the new settings (fast.t-mobile.com). It also didn't work. Anyone get MMS to work on T-MO?
adding mms to APN type worked for me.
APN Type:
default, supl, mms
Thanks for helping. Didn't work but I appreciate trying.
Here's what I had to do to get it working:
First, reset the APN settings to default.
Then, add mms to APN type.
Next, clear the setting for server.
Then add the mmsc.
Then it worked.

Weird that you had to do anything at all. I got the phone, inserted my SIM, rebooted, went through the setup wizard and was good to go.
Finally!

Worked for me. You rock!
This happened to me when I first used the phone with AT&T as my carrier. AT&T couldn't determine the issue and are still investigating it. I ended up doing a factory reset and it fixed it.
Im having some issues on the subject, that i cannot really figure out..
I have a Asus Padfone X Mini (T00S) and i cannot send MMS texts on the epc.tmobile.com APN,
i have tried messing around adding this and that, but all my attempts to send a MMS have failed
supl, mmsc and everything i have tried failed.
I would appreciate it if you would please send me a screen shot from you apn settings and also explain what is happening
Im fairly new to the APN system
I tried to edit the APN settings on my V10 and I am unable to do anything but modify them. I can only add? Anyone else notice this? I am on stock ROM, but I am rooted. Thanks
Dial 277634#*#
In the hidden menu, click on unlock apn, reboot. Then you can edit them...

I tried this and no joy
I have modified mine a couple times as i once was having mms issues - what exactly happens when you change yours?
Did mine yesterday, didn't have LTE only 3G.
From the settings icon I went in with DATA enabled, if disabled if wasn't able to make any changes.
If I'm on the T-Mobile unlimited what APN settings can I choose from?
I know when I had straight talk I could change back and forth between Straight Talk and one or two other ones but I don't know anything about T-Mobile and the different APNs you can use

Hi guys!
I just got an unlocked Sprint variant of G8X and realized that it does not let me change the default APN. I am currently on Mint Mobile but the phone recognizes it as a T-mobile and loads a default APN of T-Mobile (fast.tmobile.com) automatically. While Mint Mobile works with this automatically selected APN, I noticed that I am unable to send/receive MMS.
I was able to add a new APN, but I could not select the new one as the default APN. The existing default one has all fields greyed out so I can't edit it either. I never encountered such issues with my previous Android phones, so I got no idea what to do.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi, I had the same greyed out APN issue, LG is killing me. Here's what I did. Hope it works for you. P.S. make sure your VoLTE is off, it screwed with my SMS.

Thank you for the idea, but it didn't work in my case, unfortunately. As soon as I remove the activated sim (Mint), I get kicked out of the APN setting. And when I insert a non-working sim (in my case, Sprint), the phone automatically loaded the APN for Sprint. Then when I swap the sim back to Mint, the phone loads the APN automatically again, but I am still unable to edit it.
I think I will have to sell it off.
