How do we change it? And what is the default?
default for most 720p screens our size ergo gnex blah blah blah is 320 and u can change it by using a build prop editor rom toolbox is the easiest surefire way other apps I've used resulted in a soft brick for some strange reason its almost as if they deleted the build prop

Have you had any problems with google play? As in you can't download apps due to a modified resolution
Yes I have had a few issues but if the market app won't let me download the web page will. Or I use a 3rd party source as I usually never download payed apps as I kind of see no need for them.

When you change the dpi from 320 to 260, the market thinks you are using a tablet, and give you this message "your device isn't compatible with this device."
Example of this is the google maps app.

I'm on hehappys latest rom, I was on a 140 dpi earlier but switched back to 160 dpi afterwards. I'm having incompatible errors on some apps from Google play store...how can I continue to use 140 but have a fully working market?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Just change to 170 for your hdpi apps and then change back after. A few reboots. Are they worth it's
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
Why would I change from 160 to 170 when I wanna have 140...140 looks good on our screens....my problem is the incompatible apps in Google play store. They only become incompatible after changing 160 to 140 and clearing data does nothing
Even after changing from 160 to 140,than back to 160. I get those incompatible errors in play store
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
(Fixed), you have to purchase the pro version of LCD density to tix that incompatible issue on Google play store. Its 2.99
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Why did you buy an app when you can change that with root explorer?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Well I didn't buy the app,I have other means and yes I could of changed the build prop line but that doesn't fix the incompatibility in Google play store

Hey one question:
When you switched your dpi to 140 your phone.apk was fc
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk 2
Yes it does...there's another thread similar to this one which has a app file from the HTC wildfire...(phone.apk) you just trade that one for the current one and it should stop those force closes
Cm9 LCD density, I think is the start of the thread name. Its a few threads under this one
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Well this is bull****...I've searched for a 120 dpi phone.apk...that gives force closes..than I found another phone.apk and that screwed up than I downloaded a phone0624.apk,that worked but I couldn't answer the phone than I downloaded a phone0707.apk and I couldn't hear the other person....
All I want is my screen resolution to be either 120 or 140 dpi, no incompatible issues within Google play store but this crap is pissing me off...
Does anyone have an actual fix or do I really need to resort to staying on 160 dpi?
Future reference, using LCD density modder pro fixes the incompatible issue but your play store version is 3.5.15

I give up.....I literally just downloaded the last phone.apk file I found thru Google....if anyone can fix this crap...I'd appreciate it..I've tried about 8 different phone apk

Hi I had the same issue ur facing, there is no work around other than changing your resolution and rebooting,or else u can try paranoid Android or PAC Rom they support changing resolution even as low as 120 dpi.
Fife the new pac rom have the new omx fixes?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
no the dev has not made any update for PAC rom until Bytecode update his PA with omx included
on topic : i tried several phone.apk from some wildfire ics roms but they didn't worked some of them gave fc or they didn't worked the microphone or incoming calls circle is under the screen
that's so angry with these phone.apk that they have these annoying bugs
Have you tried the hehappys phone zip..I haven't and its in the cm9 general discussion thread. It might work for that problem we have with it being cut oit
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
no i don't know nothing about any phone zip can you please give me the link for it ?////
I don't think it was hehappy who posted this...I just went back k to review the cm9 general thread and all I found was his liblights zip to save battery and a YouTube fix for longer videos but I did save a phone.zip file from box and here's a link for download

Does anyone know a way to do a dpi. I tried rom toolbox but it would lock my phone up after reboot
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA Premium HD app
I am not on ShoStock, but DPI is easy to change just by editing the line ro.sf.lcd_density in /system/build.prop. The issue is that it usually causes Play Store to think you are running an unsupported resolution, and app downloading can be a problem. People get around it by using a multidpi (modded) Play Store apk, or better yet, a modded Google Services Framework apk in conjunction. You might want to check out this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123368
Also there is a thread in the 9100 forum for non stock dpi stock apps

Keep in mind if u do change DPI any problems that u encounter will not be ROM related nor is it supported. So if u run into any issues you will have to deal with it. Good luck
