Hi
When using the Samsung (TouchWiz) contacts app contacts from my corporate exchange account are displayed (the GAL contacts, not my personal). This is a great feature, but when I want to store one of the corporate contacts in my own contacts list it will only be stored to my personal exchange contacts list, not my Google contacts. I'm not given the option to choose which contact list to store the copy in. From other part of android, like the messenger app I'm always asked which contact list to store new contacts to.

I have a couple questions about organizing the contacts on my Optimus-T. I imported the contacts from my Google (Gmail) account after acquiring this phone (I had a myTouch 3G v1.2 before the Optimus-T). When I open up an individual contact, there are 3 separate, identical Google (from the same Gmail account) listings as well as one T-Mobile account. When I create a new account, it just creates one Google (Gmail) listing. How can I delete these extra (identical) Google (Gmail) listings from each contact. When I go into the Account settings, under "Manage Accounts," Both the Gmail and T-Mobile accounts are selected ("Sync is ON"). Please Help!
Thanks,
-Adam
We inserted SIM in my wife's new Nokia Lumia 800 and copied the contacts from SIM into the phone memory.
Now how do we set it up so that these contacts gets uploaded to her Google account and stays in (2-way) sync (i.e., between phone memory and Google)?
Your current contacts must be stored under a Live account then since you moved them to your phone with only a Live account added?
I think you will need to add your google account and move the contacts to that account. When you later add a new contact you can choose which account to add it to. In this case Windows live or Google. It will auto sync once setup.
i dont think wp7 lets you sync contacts with google
Add your google/gmail account and contacts should sync over automatically. You can sync gmail, google contacts and google calendar with WP7.
A couple of caveats. WL only supports one mobile number per person and if you have HTC garbage in your Notes field in google contacts you will receive an error and will have to clean up your google address book to remove the rubbish from the notes field, else it should work just fine.
It will sync them to your Live account. What you need to do is export them from your live account, then delete them from your live account.
Import them into your google account and re-sync your google account and Live account on your phone. This will remove the live account contacts from your phone and sync your new google contacts to your phone.
Thats it, now your synced to your google account.
I have the phone running Android 2.3.4 (rooted).
I have two Google accounts setup on my phone. I use both of them as there are apps purchased from both accounts.
I would like to sync contacts from my phone to BOTH the accounts. As of now, contacts are being synced to just one Google Account. In the "Accounts and Sync", I see both the Google Accounts listed, with the "Sync Contacts" option enabled for both accounts.
Is it possible to sync contacts to both GOOGLE accounts from the phone? If yes, how?
Any help is appreciated.
Shameless bump... any help please?
So you want to have
Contact X to be on both Google Account A and on Google Account B at the same time? and have it appear two times on your phone?
I want contact X to be shown in both google accounts, A & B. However, I will prefer no duplication in the phone.

I'm also interested in this. In Options/Filter you can choose which accounts will display contacts, so you can avoid seeing duplicated contacts. Basically I'm interested in keeping the contacts in my personal Google account (which is the one synced with Outlook, to which I add new contacts) synced with my school Google apps account and ideally my Live account, for when I have to use the webmail interface of either one of those two. An option that pours (one-way sync) the contacts from one account to the other is also ok, as I don't expect to have anything synced from my school or Live account to my personal one.
Hi all..
So I had a Google account register with my old msn email, but I decided to delete this Google account and register for a new one with Gmail, thinking that my contacts are preserved on my phone, but I switched off Sync function just in case. Somehow though, my contacts got removed from Contacts app. but they are still on the phone cause if I run the dialer app and punch in the first few numbers of any phone number that I remember, the app offers contacts suggestions, and I find the name and number of the contact I'm trying to call.
How can I get these contacts back and store them again on Contacts app?

I'd try another Contacts app like Go or exDialer and see if they show up there. If so, you should be able to export them via Vcard and then go back to the main Contact app and import it. If that doesn't work, it might be helpful to list which phone you have and on what update it's on in case there is something more specific to that phone/update that might need to be done.
In my contacts I only have my Google account synced. I did a search for my uncle's name and all of my work contacts with the same name popped up. Is there any way to get rid of that? Or is it because I have my work Exchange email on Gmail? I definitely chose not to add contacts when I added the work email to the Gmail app.
Even if I go to accounts in settings and tap Exchange, contacts isn't synced.
