When I get a new email or text I want to be notified by sound & vibration, I can't get vibrate to work at all. If I set sound profile to vibrate only I get a vibrate upon making the selection, but no vibrate notification, and only visual notice in the notification bar.
Any ideas how to fix it? I already tried a battery pull.

Rooted for the first time yesterday and flashed DasBamf Sense 3.0 RC4. My only issue is that when I set my sound profile to vibrate mode, none of my messages (or notifications, for that matter) vibrate on incoming, even though the "Vibration feedback for calls and notifications" box is checked.
Anybody else have issues with this?
Thanks
I tried it on mine. I don't normally use vibrate. When I set the sound profile to vibrate and sent myself a txt it didn't vibrate. I had to go into the message app and go into settings and turn on vibrate there also. Then it worked. I know calls vibrate when sound profile is set to vibrate but other notifications have to be set separately.

Hello all,
Searched for this and didn't quite see anything about it. I'm running UnNamed 1.2.0 and have noticed that all notifications volume except the ringer drops to very low levels out of nowhere and for no apparent reason. I check the volume in settings and all are at max. Sometimes it seems this is triggered by a text message... The only way I can restore volume is to "clear memory" in running applications. Wondering if anyone has experienced this and could shed some light as to what can cause this.
Thanks!
What audio player do you use? I noticed that if in poweramp, I didn't have Pause on notifications enabled, the notification volume was much lower.
Using the stock music app and google music. Checked for settings but can't find what you refered to.

Text Message
Hi guys,
I too have the text message problem when ever i browse or send or receive the text message in my phone i get bell type of sound apar from notification sound. I think there is a problem in text message as it was modified.
Turns out is not the volume that drops but somehow the sound comes out of the ear speaker instead of the speaker in the back of the phone. Maybe someone can post this in the development section?

I have installed GoSMSpro but whenever i receive a text message the phone doesn't vibrate, the notification light however lights up and sound is heard if the phone is not in silent mode.
At the risk of sounding obvious have u got vibrate box checked in settings?

Since updating to ICS, a feature I really miss from GB is the turn over to mute funtion for SMS. Sure it works for a phone call ringtone, but that's all. Even trying to turn volume down dooesn't work (by the time i've pressed the volume rocker enough times to change to silent, the tone has finished!)
Anyone got any other ideas on how to mute an SMS notification quickly?
Get a short SMS notification sound
Sorry couldn't help it. But as soon as I press my volume button the sound mutes. Only have to press it once.

Does anyone else have the problem that if you have a text tone, email tone & phone ringtone, then try and Mute or put in Vibrate mode the S3, it only mutes the ringtone, both text messages and emails are still heard. Just found that out while in a meeting
Never experienced this before, any ideas?

No, this doesn't happen to me.. if I put the phone on silent everything goes silent.
Then if you open the volume control settings you can see that the icon for notification is crossed out to indicate silent.
Are you on a custom ROM? And how are you enabling silent mode?

I'm on Vodafone stock rom, I use the notification menu and selected Mute or Vibrate and text/email tones come through. I've even turned off the sound using the volume buttons, but these tones are still coming through.
When you go to volume settings do you are the icons crossed out when in silent mode?

I get either the icon mute or icon vibrate mode set in the notification bar area. I think I may end up trying a full reset and installing apps one at a time just in case one is conflicting.
One thing I have noticed is that if I use the volume rocker and turn it to mute, if you click the settings on the right of it, it shows all 3 volume settings and I think this is where it's not muting the other notifications
