Are there any ics roms out there that have the mhl/hdmi function working. Did some minor searching and can't seem to find anything that states specifically that it's working, and I don't want to download twenty roms to find one. Any help or direction is appreciated.

It works on the Sense 3.6 based roms, not on the Sense 4.

I think its due to the fact that htc made its own media HD plug that alone costs between 60-80$ to get and that replaces the regular mhl adapter functionality. And since sense 4 is a One series port, we're suffering the same.

Yea, I've herd this reasoning before, but am confused as to why it has to do with sense 4 being ported from the ONE series. I mean I know its from another phone, but couldn't code be modified to support it? If it can be I'd like to look more into it seeing that I'll be getting a cheapo computer soon and will have the means to actually do something about it if it can be done, or at least try, lol. Hard to use sense 3.6 roms since the 4.0 ones have gotten so nice and run really well and I'd hate to think I wasted money on this mhl adapter.

I bet there is but since the One X dev community itself is yet to come with a fix, I doubt we will. Although Newt promised to work on it and I've donated him an mhl adapter for the cause.
Lets wait and see..

Consider a incremental update 300mb is a lot. I am pretty sire the ruu will exceeds 600mb though.

Yeah I kinda of don't see that file being as small as the source is stating. Not even a Senseless ICS Rom with their Vzw bloat would be that small.

Think of the OTA as a patch...not. full ROM. I believe it could be 300mb. We already have the base....2.3/ sense 3.6 looks alot like 4.0.3/ sense 3.6
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
It makes more sense to do an incremental patch - replace files, remove old ones, add new ones, etc. Look at home many phones get updates, then how large the update is, then how much it costs VZW to issue OTA updates per MB. Verizon would literally double their costs to send out updates by making it a full ROM instead of a 300MB patch. Yes, its harder to patch in terms of ensuring the proper files are modified or replaced, but thats just a script they need to work out.
Data charges are high because mobile data has a large operating cost compared to land networks. In an effort to reduce necessary bandwidth requirements and cost, VZW and manufacturers are smart to release patches instead of full replacements.

While on the incredible 2, I ran a 2.1 Rom...there was sense 3.0 patch that added some of the features from sense 3.0 and was only like 90 mb. And it had a bunch of weather animations if I remember correctly.
I look at the rezound ics its as the same....we already have the base...it just needs some tweaking and additional stuff.

Well , personally use Bored's Rez rom the most and it has been very stable for me . I was able to try evita 2.1 and found it very similar to Rez rom . I kept getting reboots on Newt's 2.0 , but haven't tried the 2.1 update.
So been running RezRom 1.2 since it came out ,very smooth and no issues. Granted I am a light user though, don't have blue tooth or tether. Data is rock solid, texting, browsing and phone calls is perfect with this rom.
I'll believe the update is out when I see it downloading onto my phone.

Unless Vlingo is open sourced.
Either way, if Samsung is going to do this, why don't they just buy Vlingo and make it official voice app of their phones, etc.

I really think a developer/skin maker should just take Vlingo(which this is a version of) and just skin it to more of One Series/Sense 4 motif. Unless it would easier to skin this variant. Either way I would like to see a One Series/Sense 4 motif to this app, would look more natural than this nature ui stylized variant.
A Sense 4 skin of Vlingo or S Voice would be very stylish IMO.
who can we ask to make this possible?
