I know what it is it actually has nothing to do with root because it was happening to me before i rooted and its a derp on samsungs part....... Basically if u go to settings then accounts and sync go into your google account and uncheck "sync internet" this was the culprit for me and a few other people only thing is your bookmarks wont be synced but if u are using another browser u should be good or just manually put them in there......give thanx if i have helped!

I am also using Chrome. What did you freeze? all I show is the browser icon and Bookmarks UCLEAM or whatever next to it in Titanium Backup. Is this what you froze?

Every time I try to go into the gallery to play a video...... BAM force close immediately, even before I try to play a video. This is a lot glitchier than I thought it would be, I can't even overclock to 1.9 ghz before BAM my phone freezes up and reboots, don't really care about the overclocking part but I REALLY need to be able to play videos on my phone. If you don't know a a solution than please recommend a video player I can download of the market

Never mind I just wiped everything three more times and then installed the ROM, now everything works, maybe it got messed up when i restored some apps with titanium backup.
That'll do it.

HELP!
I rooted my Galaxy S3, which worked flawlessly! Unfortunately, I used Titanium Backup to restore data and now I have an issue. It says, "Unfortunately, messaging has stopped." and I can't get to my SMS!
I use GoSMS Pro and I can SEE them, I just can't read/respond. If I click on one of the contacts, it opens a blank window. In Messaging, it just crashes non-stop.
Do you think I just need to reinstall the MMS app?
Thanks!!!!
Uninstall the titanium backup of the app and reinstall it WITHOUT data or from the market.
Yes, you won't have your saved messages, but you will have a working app.

If you just restored data and not app using Titanium Backup, have you tried going to Application Manager under Settings and find the Messaging app click on "clear data" and "force stop" to restart the app? Maybe the fixes your problem.
Af, if "Samsung galaxy s3 T-Mobile" had a development section I would be all over it. I here techniques for the 9300 don't work on T999

It does have a development section. You need at least 10 posts to access it.....

Fixed it!
Hey everyone!
Thanks for the replies... I ended up using the stock ROM posted recently to reset it. Then, using Titanium Backup to restore ONLY the important stuff--not the [SMS/MMS/****] database that kept crashing things. I went back to my Galaxy S2 and used SMS Backup and Restore instead to push/pull in my 20,000 text messages to the new phone. I lost the MMS, but if they were funny/important, I saved them as pics anyway :-D
I assumed going from ICS on my T989 to ICS on my T999, it would be the same, but no. However, now, I have a great phone with my pertinent data and it's working GREAT!
Also in the development section is how to root it. I used the post from the Sprint Galaxy S3.
Thanks again!

I did that, btw. That worked for a LogProvider issue I was having, but would NOT work for any type of SMS issue. Unfortunately, the phone is so new to the US market, there isn't much support. I decided instead to just flash it again and find a different way to get my SMS onto the phone.
I also had the "messaging stopped" error and the only way I could fix it was to reset to factory defaults. I tried clearing data from the messaging app and reinstalling the rooted odin image, but neither of those things fixed the problem. Be careful though, a factory reset will wipe the internal sdcard. It did not wipe my external. The factory reset also cured the problem of Windows not being able to load the MTP driver.
I suspect it had something to do with restoring some system settings with Titanium. I thought I'd only done a few safe ones, but perhaps not. This time I'll be sure and only restore my system wifi settings. If it had been due to debloating, then I would think reinstalling the full image would have fixed the problem.
could someone help me solve the problem of messaging not working
when i try to read a message in messaging, unfortunately messaging has stopped shows up and the app crashes. i have tried clearing cache and delvik cache and rebooting, backing up using cwm recovery and restoring, clearing cache and data and force stopping it, but nothing seems to be working.

Same problem here. I've also reflashed the ROM after wiping everything and nothing seems to fix this. I tried out "AirDroid" from the market last night, and since then SMS has been down. AirDroid lets you send SMS from your phone using a web interface on your desktop, so I'm assuming that's what broke it. But, from what I know, wiping/reflashing should fix things...
So I flashed a gummy ics from to my friends fascinate. Had a bit of trouble with the restore, unfortunately losing the contacts. It still runs a bit slow and all the programs lag and force close. I've ran fix permissions countless times. Any suggestions?

Thanks man, I'll try that stuff when I get home. With doing the wipe, if I do a backup of all the apps and app data, doesnt that kind of make the data wipe redundant?

depends on your back up methods. i use google to back up contacts and tibu to back up apps. after a data wipe i just resync goole and restore app only(no app data) from tibu and your back in business.
I always bypass the Google account, to do an app restore first. Only restore the data portion of the apps that are most important. Like a checkbook app, dolphin, Tapatalk, etc. The rest be sure to just restore the app.
One that's done add your Google account and let the contacts sync, etc.

See title. This happens with the homepage but not subforum or thread pages. Also the thread suggestions thing wasn't working when I made this thread, and ads are not showing (no big deal you say--but I didn't do anything to disable them and it's just odd). Everything seems to work fine in Chrome, but I'd rather not use that because of the bloat.
I dunno if it has always been like this or I screwed something up? Been playing with Greenify and Autorun Manager...
It happened to me too. (4.1.2)
But after I re-flash my ROM, it show as per normal.

Thanks I guess! It worked... but I lost all my data (duh). What I did not expect was losing all my bookmarks and even my connection to my google account from the stock browser. And I don't see any way to add accounts to the stock browser so haven't found a way to get it back. Help? :crying:
Edit: Wait, I fooled around in phone settings - >accounts and re synced my google account and the bookmarks came back. Yay! :victory:
Still, is there a less *destructive* way to get buggered pages to load properly again?

No no no you weren't supposed to wipe your data cache. You were suppose to go to system settings ---> apps---> downloaded apps--->XDA and clear the data and force close the app only. Sorry I wasn't more clear
on that point.

Yeah, well I was having trouble with xda loading on the stock browser, so I went to system settings->apps->all apps->browser and FCed it and cleared its data. Pretty close to your instructions no?
Can't imagine the havoc it would have wreaked if I wiped data in recovery without some backup
So as I was saying, pages load wrongly from the stock browser (or heck chrome even) every now and then--is wiping browser's data the only way to go? I tried wiping cache first but no joy
So I have a Sprint Note 3, Stock, Latest OTA, Non Rooted. Problem is, maps will force close continuously while in navigation mode. GPS seems to work fine on locating me on the maps side and in other apps that use gps in some form or another. Ive also cleared cache, un installed, reboot and re installed the updates and that makes no change.
Any help would be amazing.
How did u uninstall the app if you're not rooted? . This is a system app that can not be removed. Not sure why you are having g force closing issues as mine works just fine. . Have you tried clearing data instead of just cache?

I dont wanna hafta root that phone as the user that has it might end up breaking something.
I thought about a hard reset.
This did not correct the problem. Nor did the hard reset. Could it be a problem with the actual phone?
