is ferakernel possible for stock rom?
i made a nanodroid recovery for my feralab rom.
i want to change my phone to stock to give it to my brother for a while.
but, i dont want to change my kernel and lose my recovery
so, is it possible to have ferakernel for stock 2.3.3 rom?
i have unlocked bootloader
i dont have to do all these if i can wipe user data from feralab rom, is that possible? (meaning as if u just newly installed the rom) like master reset
then i can just give my phone without doing any major changes
Yeah I think you can flash it!!!!

Why you open another thread, when your question is related to previous about Ferarom???
If you just want to wipe your data, you can do it with your Xrecovery or try option in your phone Settings/privacy/Factory data reset. First try phone option, and then check if you wipe your data with that. If not, try to wipe with Xrecovery.

This is the first time I install a non-stock kernel(Overstock). Do I have to go back to the stock froyo kernel to flash other roms?
And I've never done any type of wiping before flashing but I'm thinking of doing it this time.
If I wipe the user data and DAVILK, does it erase things on your SD like pictures and videos or apps backed up by Titanium Backup?
You can flash any 2.2, or 2.2.1 rom without flashing a different kernel. If you want to flash a 2.1 rom, will need to flash a 2.1 kernel before you flash the rom. There really no need to wipe anything if your just flashing a kernel, but if you want, just wipe cache partition, and dalvik cache and you will be good. No need for a factory reset. Hope this helps.

I was getting ready to flash another rom so I will wipe data too.
My question has to do more with flashing a 2.2.1 rom(possibly Eugene's Ginger clone 3) from Bionix 1.3.1 with overstock. Is it ok to do it without reverting back to stock kernel?
Nice avatar btw
As long as its a 2.2 kernel you will be fine. It doesn't have to be a stock 2.2 kernel.

when you want to switch roms, do you backup the rom, then flash back to 2.1 and then flash the new bb, rom and so like that?

no that would be pointless....
backup, go into xrec full wipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvik...
then flash new rom in xrec
Allright. Just wondering. Thank you.

HI lads,im feacing a problem here.I was trying to instal NeroDroid rom,I did not wipe data and factory reset before and my phone is stock on sonyericcson logo so I cant go to CWM to do a restore,I also cant repare software using SEUS,it says your software is moded. Please help me
Most custom ROMs need custom kernel. Flash stock ROM back with wotanserver or flashtool, unlock bootloader, install custom kernel. Most kernels already have CWM, so just enter it, wipe data, cache and dalvik cache(definitely or you might get problems) and install ROM.

This is not the place for this kind of thread.
I own wt19i running stock 4.0.4 .587 on stock kernel 2.6.32.9-perf and I have locked bootloader.
I rooted it without problems and installed CWM. Yesterday I tried to flash icecream pureness V4 by sandy7 (for both BL), everything went ok, i cleared everything in CWM and in aroma picked my phone + locked bootloader, but after restart my phone stuck on sony logo...
I did tried to do it second time but result was the same. So i thought it may be problem with rom zip, so i tried to flash jjHybriD AOSP ROM by stanlin salu (again for both BL). This time phone passed through sony logo and stucked on walkman animation. For the third time I was forced to flash stock room via flashtool.
So what did I wrong/what could get wrong? I made root -> installed CWM -> wiped everything in CWM -> installed rom locked BL with success -> fail
Bonus question: do stock GB and ICS use same kernel? Becouse in topics about downgrade from ICS to GB I can't see anything about changing kernel.
greets
meql
Don't just wipe everything in cwm, see what's told in the thread of the rom
E.g. sometimes you get a bootloop if you wipe /system when it's not required!

For Locked BL
get root and cwm
go to cwm
wipe every thing(including factory data cache system dalvik cache)
Click to collapse
Every one reported that its working on locked bl..
Try again.
Make sure u are on .587
Wipe factory
Cache
System
And dalvik cache.
And than flash the rom
Select ur device in aroma installer.
For small apps..
It should be flashed after the rom boots up into homescreen..

Hello,
I just made my first attempt of installing the CM9 into my Xperia U, it is unlocked, installed the CWM like described in her: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020897
Done it worked, but when I tried to install the FXP203-cm-9-20130118-UNOFFICIAL-kumquat.zip, it shom]wed me an error 7 during installation,
So now I have no idea on how to proceed.
Did I forgot something ?
Please all the help is welcome.
Rgds.
Try re flash the stock. 54 fw, then flash the FXP203 boot.img (inside the zip), boot to cwm and wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache and flash the rom

Thanks for the help, but is still a bit unclear for me.
I'll Try it if necessary, but do you really think this is related with the base Stock ROM ?
Just please clarify, because I had done the wipes before installing, or maybe this is due to the cwm I used instead of the boot.img ?
Since the .54 has issues with the tethering I was holding its installation.
Rgds.

DONE!!!
The problem is related to the CWM method so stick to the FreeXperia way of installation.
By the way I also upgraded to .54 after the first attempt, Thanks.
