Hi,
is it possible to install jelly bean on the stock kernel from sony? Are you able to port it, or will it only be available for custom kernel?
Thanks,
Michael

I think he means you can't
you need to edit the ramdisk inside of the kernel
Also where did you get a jelly bean ROM/kernel from sony?

First, wrong section.
Secondly, flash stock firmware and then flash another kernel
Thank you guys. Solved the problem by flashing rage kernel. Sorry for posting in wrong section. It was not intentional.

Your rom will be pre-rooted and you will have a permanent recovery. Also you can overclock your phone.

If you were able to flash the rage kernel and DDS kernel then that means that you have an unlocked kernel. Also if you are able to boot into fastboot then you have an unlocked bootloader.

On stock rom type *#*#7378423#*#* -> Service Info -> Configuration -> Rooting Status: Bootloader unlocked: yes
Or you connect it in fastboot mode to flashtool, it should say Bootloader Status: Rooted (or simliar) :good:

I got it from here http://www.4shared.com/rar/29kaVZ1E/Xperia_Mini_ST15i_41B0587.html
And just for the record, when I go into the update centre app on my phone it still asks me to update to 4.1.B.0.587 with 0.1 mb of update download. I dont know why this is so. but in the about phone section the software version is 4.1.B.0.587. but it still asks to update to 4.1.B.0.587.

its pretty obvious.. when you flash the stock rom manually, some of the stuffs are not in order as the factory one even if the version is same.. so to put it in order perfectly you have to install the update...

You can use that one if you are on unblocked bootloader.
On which version you was before?
If you was on jb and you flash a kernel for ics it won't boot.

You want to flash just the kernel or the Rom mate? You can't flash ics kernel on jb rom. You have to flash or ics or jb.
If you want to downgrade to ics, just flash the ftf file.
I'm using the app and I can't see the whole screenshot mate, sorry

I have a MyPhone A888 and it is version 4.0.4. My question is, can I install a custom rom that is 4.1.2? I was planning on installing this (Yonip A888 4.1.2 V5): http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/142780-rom-yonip-a888-412-v5-28042013/, which I found on this list of A888 roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41729090. So can I install it? Or should I stick to 4.0.4 custom roms? Thanks!

Yes. The version doesn't matter. You can be sure to install a ROM for YOUR device (if not you can get a hard-brick and this is not good...).
Remember to do FULL WIPE when you change version.
Any other doubts just tell me
