Any Call Blocking Apps that can Block the Second Call? - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Are there any Call Blocking applications that can Block the incoming call, if it is on the Black List, while on an existing call?
Call blocking app I've tried is unable to block the 2nd call, and comes through as a normal call which isn't blocked, but this defeats the purpose of a Call Blocking app.
Is this an Android restriction, or an App restriction?
I do have Youmail, so I can enter numbers I want Blocked, into contacts, and have them Ditched, where the caller would hear a disconnect message.
But I'd like to known about a capable Call Blocking application.
Actually, I have to check with Youmail to see if Calls can be Ditched while on another call.

I use the blocking system that comes with the phone and all calls events texts are blocked..

The gs3 has one built in. Phone/recent/ longpress on undesired #, add to reject list.
edIt- I used call blocker gold on previous device which worked well. Gonna use the built in one for now.
edit_2- ninjaed while editing lol.

I didn't know about the built in. Thanks,
But while I'm on a call, and the Blocked call comes in, it's going to Voicemail after 4 rings, even though I don't see the incoming call ringing on my S3.
The first time I tried it with the built in call Blocker, I didn't hear the outgoing voicemail gtg, and the call showed being blocked. The 2nd try, the call got through.
Can anyone verify that the S3s call Blocker effectively blocks an incoming 2nd call, while you're on an existing call?

Haven't tried... But maybe the app needs root access? There is an app called root call blocker.

I purchased RCB a year or so ago, and activated it on my S3. I set up the Profile and Black List, etc.
While on another call, incoming blocked calls didn't ring on my S3, But the calls went to VM after 5 rings. The Blocked call showed on the RCB list of blocked calls. I've tried 5 Block Actions. I'll have to contact the Developer and inquire about Blocking a "2nd Call."
I've been using my GV# from my device, to call my Sprint # for testing. Maybe that's causing a conflict?
I don't think so, But I'll have to call my S3 from another phone, to Test.
I purchased Extreme Call Blocker Droid from the Market, But while on another Call, the incoming Blocked Call disconnected the Call I was on, and VM picked it up, instead of Blocking it.
The Developer mentioned that the app should have just let the Incoming call through as an Unblocked call, and Not disconnect the Call I was on, because there are limitations with the Android system, where Blocking apps cannot block incoming calls while on another call. This is not what I want because it defeats the purpose of a Call blocking app.
Calls sometimes getting blocked and sometimes not? The Caller will then know that the Number is still "Good."
I'm still looking into this to see if this is an Android, Google or App Limitation.

Atrix Call Reject option?

I'm coming from the Captivate, and the only option I'm really missing on the Atrix is the call reject feature. I want to be able to automatically reject calls from certain numbers and unknown numbers, can't find the option there anywhere.
I know I can use the 'silent rington' trick, but that's not idea and doesn't work with unknown numbers.
Any thoughts?
Are you asking to blacklist certain numbers, dismiss a call like with volume down, or have all calls for a period of time go straight to voicemail?
Blacklist numbers, I found an app for it though that I'm gonna try
Reject with Text
I was wondering something similar. With the Captivate and many other phones I had, there was an option to "Reject with Text." This was a nice feature I used every now and then. It seems that it is missing on the Atrix, does anyone know of an app or something that can do something similar?
I would suggest using Google Voice, which is free and open to anyone now.
You give out your GVoice number, and set GVoice to forward to your cell phone. No one ever needs to know your cell number direct, and if you change it..you just change the setting in GVoice.
GVoice allows you to actually block individual numbers--and generate specific responses to them! And you won't pay for the call, which would use cellular airtime if it was just your cell phone blocking it.
When editing a contact ---- under "Additional info" -> "Call handing" you can select "send strait to voicemail" .... however Mr. Number block is great for this by automatically blocking known spam by sending straight to voice mail or my favorite the "answer and hangup" tactic
The best solutions as stating before is Google voice as you can play a "this number is disconnected" or "the number you are calling does not accept unknown/blocked numbers" voice mail greeting.
Contacts > [Select a contact] > Additional Info > "Send straight to voicemail" [Check box]
I downloaded an app that works for me. The Contact thing is fine for numbers that you know, but not for unknown caller numbers.
I've tried Google Voice and wanted to like it, but its not my cup of tea.
It looks like the reject call feature and list is missing on this ROM, but not a big deal since there are apps to handle it.

The reject call feature works perfectly...the reason they don't allow you to just block all unknown calls is because almost nobody would actually need that. What if your mother ends up being rushed to the hospital because of an accident and the police try calling your phone (the number she gives)? Police officers usually leave messages but what if he doesn't want to so he tries calling a few times and thinks your phone is off because it always goes directly to voicemail?
It's not that hard to just hit "Reject" when you get a phone call from an unknown number...

The police would not be calling from an 'Unknown' number, if the police are calling me I'd see a number displayed on the caller ID.
I've NEVER received a call from a number tagged as unknown or blocked that wasn't a telemarketer call.
The 'reject call' feature, as I've seen it implemented on MANY other Android phones in the settings menu, is MISSING on this phone. Its not that it doesn't work, its that it is missing (AFAIK anyway)
I agree that it is missing, I miss it too. I used it all the time for a few numbers that kept calling me and asking for random names. Seriously though the same number would call and each time ask for a different name. All i ever had to do before was enable auto reject and click "add to reject" when that number, or set of numbers called. Now I will have to add it to contacts and then reject it. Not a big deal, and good to know that I have an option.
soo in the end whats the name of the free program that can reject automatically the unknown callers? i need that 2.(the SGS+ had that feature and it was awsome, i really need it)

Call blocking application malfunctions

I've been using Extreme Call Blocker for a while now, and it has never let me down until I switched over from the Evo to the Thunderbolt. The dev for this program said it could be the customized rom I'm on. I've tried several different roms and they all give me the same issue.
When an inbound call comes in it will hang up on the caller even though they are not in the block list. What's strange is when they call back a second time, they can usually get past the blocking program. I'd really like to have my call blocking program back. It's nice to be able to block calls by area code ie. 800,866, 877,888... I've seen a couple roms that have this function built into it but it's limited to just contacts within your address book, not to mention the lack of exporting the blocked numbers to the sd card.
Can anyone provide me a call blocking program that is working with the Thunderbolt? Thanks.
You need a better app, with more better stuff. Use Root Call Blocker - its not for the faint of heart but it works real good.
Have u try Mr. Number? It's free from marketplace.

Do you use it and does it work in blocking calls and SMS BEFORE ringing the phone?
Most call blocker just do hang up, so the phone still rings at least once.
I'm happy to report root call blocker has been working flawlessly.thanks

How to make calls not showing up?

Never mind, I found it. Root Call Blocker
Are there any ways to make the phone not showing incoming calls and no missed call showing but on the dialer end they still hear the dial tones until voice mail?
I tried Phone Call Blocker but when I tried to use another phone to call, I only heard 1 dial tone then voice mail.

[Q] Is there an APP to receive a call and play an MP3??

Just getting some 800 numbers call me and most are telemarketers. Just wondering if there is an app that will answer the call and play an MP3? I've heard if the automayed dialer hears a recording that the number is not in service, they automatically remove you from their list of phone numbers.
Thanks
Most of telemarketers use unlisted numbers to call you. Strange that those who calls you don't...
You could just use a call blocker. They'll still call, but I believe that most have a setting to automatically answer and hangup so they can't reach your voicemail.
I don't use one, but I hear the Root Call Blocker is good.
Supersonic Evo 4G | MIUI | Tapatalk
Just refuse unlisted numbers
The rom I'm using has a black list in call settings. Won't let calls through from numbers on list. You should check if yours does.

Call blocking with HTC One M8 ?

I am coming from the LG G2. I love the build quality of the M8. So far, my only ***** is the ability, or lack thereof, to block phone calls.
On the G2, if I went to Settings>Call, there was a call reject setting there. It had a check box to block unavailable numbers, and I could add any number I wanted. I also could use what I called a wildcard to block calls.
For example, I could add 1-800. Then there was an option under that to choose beginning, end, etc.
I could just enter the 1-800 and then choose beginning. So all calls beginning with 1-800 would be blocked. Just add 1-800, 1-877, 1-866, etc and get all the stupid telemarketers who "somehow" got my number to be blocked.
Is the functionality missing on the HTC? I had thought that this was a function of KitKat Android.
Would be nice to have back.

I have yet to receive my M8, but in the past i've tested out about 20 call blocking apps and found extreme call blocker to be the best one as it blocks the call BEFORE it even hits the device. Also it has options out the wazoo. I know we're not supposed to talk about paid apps here but i've spent a long time testing all those different apps out and if it's not baked into the M8, it'll save you lots of time testing. I'm in no way shape or form affiliated with extreme call blocker, just a long time, satisfied user

Might actually be a feature when you log into your AT&T account online.

Doesn't actually happen before it hits the device, cause if it did there would be no way for call blocker to interact with said incoming call. There is a delay from when call hits device, and actually rings. This is where it intercepts the call. I use Root Call Blocker Pro. Many options also. I have it set to kill the call immediately. It can be setup to send it directlyto voice mail. Let it ring once, kill ect. Also will log, and block texts same way.

This is true but my phone never rings. It'll actually pick up for a sec and immediately disconnect without using a special ring tone designed to silence first ring. Not quite sure how root call blocker pro works as it may have come out after I discovered extreme call blocker. It also has the same features in that you can block calls and texts alike. Set it to go straight to vm, hang up no voicemail. I'll have to test root call blocker out to see what the similarities and differences are

Exactly. Mine never rings either. Runs as a service, that's why it needs root. My screen never lights up, or anything. Nothing to let u know there was even a call except the log. It kills the call the milisecond it hits the phone, so it never hits the dialer/ringer whatever u wanna call it...

That's awesome! I may just make the switch. Thanks for the heads up
Edit: it is worth noting for future readers that extreme call blocker doesn't require root. Just throwing that out there
