Video Playback Brightness? - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

My S3 seems to have no adjustability for video playback brightness. I recorded a few videos and during playback there is no options to adjust playback quality. When the video starts it is bright then goes dim but if you transfer it to the home screen (small pip window) it will re-brighten before moving to homescreen. Am I missing something?

Same problem here, anyone?

While video is playing. Menu. Settings. You'll see the video brightness option.

Got it!
I figured it out, the settings are there but only before rotating the phone to widescreen. Thanks!

[Q] How to stop videos being dim on playback

Everytime I playback videos i've filmed they look very dim, yet if I hit backup it momentarily shows the video at its correct brightness level. Plus also the preview of the video is at the correct brightness level.
I've tried changing a few of the phones Display settings but nothing seems to stop this from happening. If anyone has any ideas it'd be appreciated.
Go into a video, pause it, hit menu and change the brightness from inside the player, disable auto-brightness as well while you are at it.
Ahh got it. I was doing that but initially could only see a few options, this time though I tried scrolling down and saw a load more including settings where I was able to disable auto brightness. Thanks.

Problem with ROTATION tag in video recordings

I have a nasty problem recording video with my samsung devices (seems to be all of them from S3 to my Note 4)
it adds a rotation tag or some sort to the video. if you start a video with an "unclear" orientation (say flat screen up point straight down) this problem becomes apparent.
or if you hold the phone upright portrait and record a video but then turn it landscape it "keeps" the video in portrait for playback (yes this includes once I upload to youtube extremely annoying)
I will record a video normally and it will be "vertical video" (portrait) instead of landscape like I am holding it.
or as with today the video was rotated 180' upside down.
Is there an app I can install that will let me strip/reset this rotation tag so all my videos playback "landscape" proper and not 90' or 180' ? ie let me "correct" the dumb meta tag rotation tag or whatever it is samsung adds to the video causing it to do this.?

Screen dimming when watching video recorded via phone?

I recorded a video recently and noticed when I went to watch it that the screen dims dramatically. Happens with with all the videos a recorded. I found this very odd. Is this normal?

Your gallery cam have a separate brightness setting. When you play the video, tap the menu button and then settings. You'll be able to adjust the brightness default for videos in gallery.

Thanks, but I'm not understanding what you trying to tell me.
But I figured it out.
If I scroll my finger along the left side of the screen I can adjust the brightness (right side adjust the volume). I had someone taking videos for me at an event and it seems they managed to lower the brightness in the video player.

My misspellings didn't help. Fixed them.
So (I think) when you swipe up/down on the left it just adjusts the brightness for that video while you're watching it. If you instead hit the menu/settings button (3 dots) there inside the video, you'll be able to adjust the default brightness setting for when you play any video in the gallery. So it will always be brighter, every time.
By doing it the way your doing, sliding up and down on left, I think it is just adjusting the brightness that one particular time, and then brightness will just go back to the old setting.
Thanks, I found the setting in the video menu, but it keeped the brighter setting from running my finger up the left side of the screen. So both methods seem to work.

Any app exist to adjust exposure in video call.? (in whatsapp, imo etc)

video call in low light situation is painful when my Gnex has no front flash. is there any app or mod to adjust the exposure level in video call.?
I did not find any app which helps you to adjust exposure in video calls. The only way is you can adjust the webcam video setting properly to get better video results. When you are using Skype for video calling, then you go to Tools>Options>Video Settings. In video setting you have an option to watch video preview and adjust color, brightness, exposure and other elements.
I think many users will really appreciate it
Video quality in video calls are very low

Slow-Mo Recording.

Is your 4X or 8X slow motion videos working?
Used to; after recording slow-mo video
Go to Gallery > Albums > Camera and select a slow motion video.
Touch to play the video. During playback, touch the video to display the editing screen.
Drag the sliders to adjust the part you want to be played back in slow motion.
Other parts of the video will be played back at a normal speed.
When you are finished, go to > Save slow-mo file to save your edits.
Now;
Only option is the cut of length of video and save as 1X video.
