Stuck in Boot Animation - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I flashed AndroWook onto my prime, and I cannot get past the Star-Wars-Text boot screen (it just keeps repeating).
I can get into TWRP, but mounting the system won't let my prime be recognized by the computer.
How can I get a new zip onto my prime to re-flash? Can I use fastboot somehow? Can I fastboot Clockwork Recovery instead and use that to mount?

Wipe everything and flash again, dont select bravia and sql mods. after flash wipe cache again and dalvik too

Unless you know how to use ADB, don't wipe everything.
Do a factory reset and reflash Androwook from TRWP. The first time it runs, it can as long as 5 minutes to fully load. Let it go, don't stop it just be patient and wait. If after 10 minutes nothing is going on, then reset and try to revert to your backup.

I understand what you guys are telling me to do, but I hate to say that I just don't know exactly how to do it.
Care to help out a little more and elaborate? I'd really appreciate it.

Did you make a backup?

I told it to when I flashed with Goo manager, yes.

[Q] Newbie stuck after flash

Hi, I'm pretty new at this. I managed to odin to JFD, and flashed Toxic Crazy8 which I really love. I've been using it for most of this week. Tonight I decided to flash the Carbon Fiber Blue theme for it. So I followed the instructions in the dev thread - booted into clockwork recovery, wipe cache partition, flash theme, wipe dalvic, fix permissions, reboot.
At that point, it hung on the spinning Samsung animation of the bootup and would go no further. So, I went back to recovery, and restored to my latest nandroid backup. (wiped dalvic, fixed permissions, reboot) Now its stuck on the Bali startup screen with the palm tree and will go no further.
Advice please? So sorry I messed with it when it was working so well.
Best way is to go into download mode and flash back to JFD
Thanks. I'm at work right now so will have to wait till I get home to hook it up to the computer to use odin. Is that the only way? Could I just flash the Toxic 8 rom or will that mess things up worse?
Go here and download the Revert package. Flash it and then reflash the Carbon if you want or leave it at stock. I ran into this a few times. Something about the themes.
A nice theme is in that same thread. It is a Gingerbread theme. I used it for a long time.
Recovery
Wipe Cache and Dalvik
Flash Revert
(if you want to flash another theme, here is where you want to do it).
Wipe again for good measure
Fix permission for good measure
Reboot. This will take up to 5mins but should do the trick.

Thank you. I think I will leave at stock I don't need these messes. But now that I'm stuck at the Bali boot screen, how do I load that revert file onto the phone? I'm having a brain cramp here probably because I worked all night.
What I think you can do is, if you can get into recovery with the button combo, do that. Hopefully you have either the original ROM zip on your SD card or you can get into your backups.
It really all depends on what you have on your internal SD since right now it is un-usable as-is.
A. Boot into recovery, wipe and flash your backup.
B. If this doesn't work, then flash the original ROM. Let it boot. Once that is done then you should be able to reflash your backup or at the very least reinstall XDA app and go to this thread and download the revert package and reflash.
C. Wait until you get home and Odin and then reflash your backup.
Sucks I know and especially being "trapped" at work.
Ok, got it into red recovery. I'm home now. I tried downloading the AIO Vibrant toolbox program, but it keeps freezing on my computer.
When you say "wipe and flash your backup" I want to make sure I understand what wipe you're talking about. Wipe cache? or wipe data/factory reset ?
I do so appreciate the help. I learn by making mistakes and man, I've learned so much the past couple of weeks messing with this phone.
Edit: I managed to mount the usb storage in recovery, so copied the revert file to my sd card.
I wiped cache and dalvik, flashed the revert, wiped again, fixed permissions, and rebooted. Still stuck at the Bali screen.

Wipe cache and wipe dalvik-cache. Don't Factory Reset unless you are doing a clean install, otherwise you'll wipe out the nandroid you just restored.

We have all been there. Don't let this scare you off though. Use what happened and learn from it. When theming though, always look for a revert package and download that before flashing any themes.
Hey you knew rule #1 though. "Always make a backup". Good luck and try the Gingerbread theme. It is refreshing as opposed to the stock Black that came with the ROM.
I edited my last post as you were replying. I wiped, flashed the revert, and now stuck at the Bali screen again.
Keep trying. IIRC i had to do it a couple of times for it to stick. Remember it takes a bit to rebuild the Dalvik after a wipe.
If you keep trying and it doesn't work, the since you can get into red recovery, maybe flash fresh ROM and once it boots up and settles down, maybe try restoring you back up then.
Ok, I'm searching for info on restoring the backup. Do you just use the backup and restore menu in recovery? Or do you somehow flash the backup file in a different way?
Just use Restore/ Backup in the recovery. There is an advanced part of it too. Try just restoring the /system part only as it holds the Framework-res.apk and Services.jar files that the themes use. Hopefully that will do the trick. If not then you can restore all and it should be fine.
Well after trying the revert twice, I flashed the Toxic Crazy 8 zip instead. It's alive!!! Thank you so much!!
This stuff is not for the faint of heart I can see. So glad for the help here.
Will be putting it aside for now and getting some sleep.
Since you'll be essentially starting from fresh, you should flash Deranged9 (also from JCC with equally great battery life) and a nice blue theme (RC3 is the one now).
Or try Fish's redux of Bionix' 1.3.1
My daughter has this phone and looking to root it but I see many pole getting stuck. I think ill wait on doingthat
Rooting is easy. Just go to the Noob guide stickied up in Q&A and scroll down to Option A. Download that, put it on your internal SDcard, reboot into recovery, reinstall pacakages (will have to do this twice) and reboot.
ROOT does not do anything but give you permission to the internal Adroid O/S. It is usually the mods that you do after the fact that can/will screw things up. Rooting doesn't change o/s, doesn't affect battery life, doesn't make your phone not send data,...all it does it give you access (and probably void your warranty).

Soft brick while trying to go to stock

I did the unroot method here:
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...brick-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717-android-2-3-6/
And everything seemed to workout fine until i got to the Samsung/Rethink Possible Boot loop. It's been boot looping for about 15 minutes now so that's why im worried.
I even tried removing he battery and going back to download mode and flashing a newer version of the tar provided in that link and to no avail, the same boot loop.
I can access download mode for sure.
Can anyone help? Im just trying to go to stock, update to ICS, and root. But id be happy if i could just get unrooted and back to stock.
I have a basic understanding of rooting/flashing because ive been doing it since the G1 days. But i have soft bricked every phone ive had. lol.

First of all, I'm no pro at this stuff but I feel your pain.
It sounds like you are getting stuck in a boot loop of sorts.
What I would do if I was you, after flashing a rom, go back into Recovery mode on the phone and clear out the cache partion, wipe Dalvik cache, and then wipe data/factory reset. After that, reboot your phone - it should start up normally. This is what I do to my phone to get it to function as it should.
Hope that helps
i went in to the advance tab and formatted everything hahah.. it juts wiped and odin back to stock again bout to wipe it and try to odin root see if i can get it done. worth a try ive tried to much stuff im bout to take phone out get my 338 tape to a zombie target and have some fun!

Agreed ...
When returning to stock via Odin ...you must reboot into your recovery and wipe data and factory reset the device prior to rebooting.
Even though you wiped prior to flashing the stock Odin .tar image.
These devices stay dirty even after wiping data on occasion ...g

oh really? wow i didnt even think about that im wiping again and flashing odin to stock but this time after it boots i will wipe factory reset. then root factory reset and fix permissions. thank for the help!
Always welcome ....
Fixing permissions is overlooked a lot ...
And the wrong permissions will cause FC's all over the build ..
I always fix permissions after any flash or modification ....it's just a good habit to get into ...IMHO ...g

[Q] Help, stuck at "dual Core" screen. I can access CWM Recovery though

Hey folks,
So the end of Q3 came with no ICS so I decided it was time to learn about modding these phones. I have modded Xboxes etc so I figured I would try to take this on.
My Phone:
AT&T MB860 bone stock with 4591 on it when I started.
I was able to unlock the phone following a tutorial on youtube. Then I tried to reflash CWM and CM7 using AUTOMATIC_UNLOCK_V4.2. Thats where things went wrong. The phone got stuck at the Dual core screen (to be honest I might not have waited 10 minutes after flashing).
So now here I am the battery is drained so I am using a cut off USB cable for power. When the phone is booting it says "unlocked" in the top left corner I can access all of the menus. When I choose recovery the phone boots into ClockWork Mod recovery. I am hoping I am half way there and the kind folks here can guide me to the finish. If not I'm open to starting from scratch whichever is going to be fastest. I'll attach a few pics for reference

(I went through this today, I needed to use option 6 in automatic unlock 4.2 before I could get a Rom on my phone.) this was wrong, tried so many things I got confused, go to this thread:
[Unlocked Only][RECOVERY][2011-11-14] Custom CWM-based Recovery 5.0.2.7-atrix5 in ATRIX android development
and download one of the zipped recoveries, flash through recovery to get a modified CWM that left me install a Rom. I was stuck at the same screen as you before I did this now I'm up and running with MROM.
Your recovery is too old. Get a newer version of CWM. Try flashing this. If you can't you will have to fastboot flash a newer recovery.
Flash ROMs with CWM, not automated tools. CWM is the safest way. As soon as you get a new recovery installed create a backup. Good luck!
okay guys I'm jammed up I download the file CWM_Atrix4G_5.0.2.0 and copied it to a clean microsd. Then I went through the recovery menu
Install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard>
In the next folder list I am unable to find the CWM file. Any tips on how to get the file straight onto the phones internal flash? Maybe through RSD?
Dude, you're trying to install recovery from the recovery... Doesn't really make sense, does it?
Use fastboot instead.
Avoid RSD at all costs.

You can't do a first install of recovery from recovery. But you can update (assuming recovery is functioning - even partially).

I have flashed recovery with fastboot exactly once - when I unlocked by bootloader. Ever since it has been flashable zips.
Okay I successfully flashed the new recovery to v5.0.2. Then I chose "apply /sdcard/update.zip" I received the "Install from sdcard complete message" I then chose "+Go Back+" then "reboot". The phone rebooted and sat at the logo with "unlocked" in the corner for a few minutes. I thought maybe I needed to clear it by pulling the battery for a few seconds, which I did. then I let it sit on my desk for 20 minutes at the logo screen.
do need to go in and clear cache? is there another file I should try to flash?
Any input would be appreciated.

Umm... That would just install the recovery again. You need to flash a ROM. Seems like your boot partition (aka. the kernel) is borked.

I just installed CM7 on my Atrix last week. Don't forget to install gapps like I did. I had to install them as a zip from the recovery, but I think it's also possible to use the ROM Manager app.
Look for the Google Apps section on this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257574 This will have the Market (now Google Play) so you can download more apps.
After that, play with all the features! I started with Menu > Settings > CyanogenMod Settings and started playing around. Don't play with the performance settings without knowing what they do.
Also, Make a backup! Make a backup! Make a backup! It may save you when little else will.

How long do I wait for reboot after flash SuperNexus?

Hello,
Newbie here. Followed all instructions on the SuperNexus ROM and did the flash, hit reboot and now I have been waitong on a loading screen with a nice colourful X for around 20 mins...
How long do I wait?
Maybe try to reflash the rom. Don't know about Supernexus specificaly, but 20 minutes is in general too long for a reboot after flashing a rom.

Reboot into recovery and wipe data/factory reset and then reboot and should boot to rom. As mentioned above 20 mins is generally too long, 5 mins usually max I would wait.
Whenever you flash a new rom you should wipe data/factory reset before flashing. Only times you shouldnt is if you're simply installing a rom update like a CM nightly etc. Rom/kernel cleaning scripts that you flash via cwm are also good for cleaning old crap and avoid issues. You can backup/restore all your apps/appdata with Titanium Backup Pro.
Even 5 minutes is a long time, the average bootscreen I get after flashing a new ROM is 2-3 minutes. 20 minutes is definately a boot loop. Just go back into CWM wipe data and reflash.
If you have information you don't want to wipe though then try and reflash the ROM you were previously on and boot up, or use a cleaning script to try and get past the bootloop. However, you're going to need to wipe at some point or it will be very unstable.

lol, no it isnt. A "bootloop" is when your device just keeps rebooting in a loop, ie goes to a logo/kernel screen reboots and goes back and does same, hence "loop". If its stuck on a screen for 20 mins its just stuck, not in a "loop".

No real need to re-flash just yet as 9/10 you can simply wipe data, although flashing aswel wouldnt hurt.

Or restore from backup user made. (If he had enough sense to make one).
Well then it's stuck, if I slipped up and said bootloop does it really matter, the effects are the same in that his device isn't working. If I wipe data I always reflash afterwards, and a backup would be a great suggestion, but given he is "newbie" and this is his first post, and he's obviously got about as much clue about these things as Inspector Clouseau in a coma, restore a backup probably isn't going to happen. If he does have a backup though (meaning he has some clue), why on earth has this thread ever been made?
I'm not really sure why you addressed me directly over some totally unimportant points but thanks, I like to write stuff.

Nothing personal dude, was just that I was addressing the 5 minute thing so thought I would split it up a bit
I personally use cleaning scripts for rom/kernel before every flash now except for cm nightly updates.
Thanks to everyone who replied. Not sure why people end up arguing in these threads though. lol
In a nutshell I left it for over an hour just in case, then I turned it off and on, powered into recovery with CWM did the data wipe and then rebooted again into recovery to flash in the SuperNexus file and the Google Apps file. I did one at a time with a reboot after each file flash, that speeds up the process a lot. Took about 2 mins per flash to work.
This is awesome!
