My device is up to date!
No update is necessary at this time.
WTF? I was getting the update notice before but hit cancel because I wasn't at a good time in my life just yet to experiment with the big shift.
So I took my microSIM & microSD card out, factory reset the phone, and when I first tried "system updates" it told me I had to sign into my motoblur account, which I eventually managed to do, and now there's no update for me? What do I do now? If I just wait will it eventually show up? Do I need to put the SIM back in?
What you can do is take the phone to the nearest service center and they will update it for you in fifteen minutes..

I don't think there's a service center within 400 miles of where I am.

That's actually your build number, which is fine. You need to look at your system version. It should be something like 6.11.744.XT910 or something along those lines.
Check that and report back.
the version is 651.73.19.XT910.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU

you don't have an update yet.
The recent update for the XT910 was only for the 651.73.15, .16, .17, .18 versions.
It looks like Bulgaria is not on the list, and it might be because of the language on the phone.
The update was recent, December 31st, so you may see it being sent OTA soon, but for now, it looks like you're up to date.
Thanks. So for now I cant put any roms ?
Hi, Just received my new Razr today in U.K. Had OTA update to 651.73.30.en.eu. All downloaded fine.
Cheers.

No, you should be able to still put ROM's on there.
Just to make sure, you're rooted, right??
I believe there are no fastboot files yet for the .19 version, at least that's what I was reading, so instead of just straight loading a ROM on top of this, I would go the safestrap route. This will allow you to load a secondary ROM and access both.
My understanding is while the .18 & .19 versions are different, they're not so different it will block you from loading a ROM.
It should be the same process as ever, root, safestrap, then enable safestrap mode, and flash the ROM.
If you get an error, report back and let me know what it is, and I MIGHT be able to help you through it.

better performance and battery is now usable for 2 whole days with wifi on...

Follow the downgrade instructions, root it, bootstrap it and use all the roms you want. I think that's what you need to do.
Hi guys, I am quite a new learner about my smart phone - razr.
Can anyone answer my two queries?
1. Can my razr be updated to the unofficial ICS which recently published by spryte? [Note, my razr was bought in Hongkong.]
2. If I can update to ICS and I found I would like to "downgrade" back to 2.3.6 system, is it possible?
Thx anyone
Yes, and yes. I recommend you read through the stock ROMs thread in the dev forum before undertaking this, both because you need to be on a 2.3.6 kernel to have everything working in ICS, and im case you want to downgrade again. You'll also need to read up on rooting using the Motofail exploit. Best of luck.
Sent from my XT910 using xda premium
Hey onslaught, based on what you said above.. do you think the same requirement of being on a 2.3.6 kernal apply to when (if) the "official" ICS gets pushed out by Moto?
If so, then are those UK users who didn't manually flash to move to 651.167.19 - because they're waiting for Moto to push it out, which they may never do - going to be screwed?
I highly doubt it, ICS normally uses a completely different revision of the linux kernel to GB, our locked bootloader has meant that devs have had to modify ICS to work with the latest kernel we have - 2.3.6. The official ICS build will have a different kernel, and depending on how Moto choose to construct and deploy the OTA, any firmware revision they like could upgrade to it. I assume whatever is the latest in every market at the time will be the revision that market's OTA checks for.

Have you reflashed the ROM? Which ROM did you flash? What steps did you do to flash? Bootstrap or Safestrap? Lots more details to fully help you out.
That probably means either:
You didn't flash the right ROM (GSM/CDMA)
or
You don't have Safestrap 1.0.8 & flashed it on Safestrap.
I use bootrap, but my device, after rebooting, it again freezes on the dual core screen..
[Note: I have also tried flashing the safetrap on my device, still the result is the same.]

Please Try wiping cache in stock recovery or cwm. I always face this problem after flashing ics cm or akop. Solution is hold power button+volume down to make phone to work.As soon as phone is off just press power button + both volume down & volume up to go to fast boot menu. I assume you known what to do next. Just suggest.

Does anyone still belive (without any jokes now for real) that Motorola may unlock the bootloader with official ICS release? I am talking about unbranded phones, not US and Razrs bought from Verizion. I really hope they do but people seems not to trust Motorola anymore

But I fear one thing... in the warranty, motorola says that even if THEY unlock, give permission or anything, the phone lost the warranty...
Unauthorized Service or Modification. Defects or damage resulting from service, testing, adjustment,
installation, maintenance, alteration, or modification in any way, including but not limited to tampering with or
altering the software, by someone other than Motorola, or its authorized service centers, are excluded from

So this is the .211 Fastboot files for the CDMA RAZR (912) correct? So now I can fastboot this and NOT have to use Matt's 1.7 utility to "unstuck" my RAZR and flash the .211 OTA?
I'm assuming then this is the OFFICIAL 211 image.
Also, noticed that the XML file doesn't have the entry to wipe your internal SD card. Thank goodness that was removed (even though it was an easy edit).

It allows you to flash your phone with a fresh install of ICS .211 (the same as the OTA) through RSD Lite. So, if you really mess up your phone trying to install a ROM or something, you can get back to stock ICS. That is all this file does - makes your phone stock. Originally we would flash the 2.3.6 SBF file to get back to GB. However, if you installed the OTA or some of the ICS leaks the bootloader changed, so flashing the 2.3.6 file would have caused your phone to become a brick (meaning you would need a new one). So now guys can mess with their phones (like we did on GB) and we can have this to fall back on if something goes wrong while trying to get our flashing fix...
Enjoy guys

I have been seeing a lot of folks talking about just going back to complete stock to install the update.
Is that the best option? Are we able to root 4.3 yet?
Do you need to reset S-off on the phone or what? I have seen a few different things out there today talking about this. My phone downloaded the update and keeps asking me to install ever so often but of course won't as I don't have the stock recovery console.
All help and info is appreciated!
