Your WIFI password is backed up through google, not through roms/kernels.
Ahhh, that's right. Brain fart. I usually uncheck all the backup and restore options. This time I was watching breaking bad and was distracted. Thanks.
PS I'm not sure if I like Google storing that... Ughhh

actually that makes better sense lol contact the seller and see if you can get password if not follow the steps that i said above
I'm guessing you are getting the wifiunlocker screen. Keep entering wrong passwords a lot of times.
yes i have contacted the seller but now he wont answer also wiped everything through cwm and flashed lightning rom through odin. i can connect to wifi but as soon as the screen times out i have the password lock again.
hey guys i just wiped everything again and flashed a rom phone seems to be working fine but i wanted to seeif i could change the lock so i went to security settings and when i go to setup pattern a keyboard pops up and asks for password??
not sure if it will work. but you can try doing a complete wipe - data, cache, dalvik cache and in advanced menu go format - do everything. hoping that u dont have any data in sd card. After that try installing the latest Cynanogen Mod and this being a non samsung ROM there is a chance that it might not have that pattern stored.
But i have flashed ROMs after setting password. after every rom flash the passwords/pattern never worked. u can give anything and it will enter the phone.
I believe you need stock recovery (so stock rom too) and then enter 10 times a wrong password. This should wipe the password (and all other data).

just flash a stock rom over the one thats in the handset..fully wipe everything cache dalvik and data and go into mount store and system data and format it and then reflash the stock rom
im gonna give this a shot thanks ill keep you guys posted i really appreciate the help
go into settings then "location and security".there you will see "screen unlock settings".Choose what ever option you want.Try choosing "none" and see what happens

If the previous owner had set a password, you cannot remove it because it is on EFS partition which is not touched by a wipe/flash. This is part of Samsung's professional grade security. The only way to fix it is to go into Recovery mode, do a wipe (cache + user data), then flash a stock ROM with Odin. Once that done, you go back in Recovery mode and enter several times the same password until the phone will wipe itself. "Unlock With WiFi" feature will turn your phone into a nice paperweight, don't use it. If you try this without wiping/flashing a stock ROM, it will not work.

It will ask forever for a password, which he does not have.
I am running a rooted TF201, and recently got NVFlash. I am on the latest Vicious ROM, and am a recent convert to TWRP. No matter the ROM that I flash, I get a "Turning WIFI On..." eternally, and when I go into settings the MAC Address is Unavailable. I have tried to flash CM10, EOS3, and CM9. All of them load clean, and I can tether off bluetooth, but I am unable to get a MAC Address to turn on the Wifi. I know this is not a hardware issue, as Wifi is working just fine on my Vicious nandroid. That is the only way I can use Wifi is on that specific backup. I have tried to wipe, and reload that ROM thinking my Prime just liked Vicious, but the Wifi was broken then as well. I have done a few Factory Resets, and wiped and flashed anything I can think of to try and fix it. Thank you very much in advance.

When you installed these roms, did you wipe cache, dalvik and factory reset? Most devs say to wipe all 3, if you did try androwook rom though its discontinued I have never had a wifi issue. Actually I am running eos 3 build 37 now and it works also. You didn't do any kernel switching did you?
Sorry, should have included that. I did wipe everything every time, and I haven't touched a kernel. I am lost as to what is happening. I am using TWRP 2.2.1.4

Did you run a checksum on your downloads to make sure they are complete? I don't think I have seen this issue in the forum other then the kernel being not quite right...
I think there is something (i did) wrong with nvflash.... i'm stuck with another mac-address http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812773
I hope some nvflash devs can look @ those wifi problems. I also saw warnings on xda forums using nvflash, because it can change mac, imei & serial.
Yes, i made sure the downloads were good. I made some backups, then I used this file

Placed a good fresh EOS3 ROM and GApps on my microSD, ran the wipe and Still didn't get a working Wifi. I am welcome to try any kernel option, see if it works.

I was able to get a clean fresh ROM to open and make a WIFI connection. After a full wipe, Virtuous Prime 9.4.2.28 v1 to load and work with no issues. I have a C2OK serial number, think that may be a reason I am having issues with other ROMs? Is it a way this particular ROM loads? I had tried other ICS ROMs, and I would have the same issue as JB ROMs, so I don't think it has anything to do with it. I got full function back, but am wondering why I can't load other ROMs.

Mine is a c1ok but i haven't seen anyone with a particular serial number have issues and I do read a lot of posts... full wipe should in theory get you where you want to go but you may have something else going on.. bad download, bad cable (this I have seen) the bad download sometimes ends in failure to flash at all.. had that tonight actually lol... re downloaded checksum.. all good now... I have had a few oddities going from one rom to another but a second flash sometimes clears it up.. never had issues with wifi unless there is something up with the kernel...
Come to think of it.... there were a few posts that said they required a double full wipe... it's an option if your willing to put in the time.. full wipe, adb push wipe file again... wipe then push rom.... if i was going to take that route, i'd push androwook rom I went from that to jb EOS and haven't had any issues....of course that means cache wipe, dalvik wipe and factory reset in between....
I tried what you said, I'm and using the wipe zip, I triple wiped, and then loaded Baked ROM 4.1 to see. Md5 check was done of course. I got wifi to turn on, but it will not find any networks. I have reset my modem/router, and restoring my old ROM wifi works and connects just fine. I am going to repeat the process with a different ROM to see if it may be that specific ROM.

I am confused too. I did the same, using the wipe zip, and between wipes I wiped dalvik. I wiped three times, just for good measure. I then flashed AndroWook Hairy Bean v1 and AndroWook Prime v2.6, not at the same time obviously. With each ROM, I was unable to see any wifi network on my TF. The wifi may turn on, may not, but it will not even show any network. I am at a complete loss. I am able to connect via a blue tooth connection to get Internet with both ROMs.

Yesterday, while at work, I unlocked the bootloader. All went well. phone was wiped and after booting back up it starting installing all the apps from the market.
Now today I installed clockwork.
My question sis about the backup. I know i need to do a backup. Normally I would have installed the new recovery after unlocking the bootloader and then would have done a backup then of the clean empty system.
But now the phone has all the apps on it. Will the clockwork backup have all those in there? or does it do the OS only?
Or do I need to go through and uninstall everything and then do the backup?
Suggestions?

It will back up any apps and user data on the phone at the time of the backup. Your backup will be an exact copy of your phones system, data, and cache.

I flashed my SGH-i777 using the Entropy512's Return/Unbrick to Stock, Kernel + Rooted System Package, as instructed in the sticky.
It boots up fine to the initial start up screen where it wants you to setup your phone, however i cannot complete this or do anything because all google apps repeatedly force close.
Please help and thanks
Your data wasn't wiped from the rom you were on, so boot into recovery and wipe data /cache.

I really appreciate the advice! but before you replied I went off and flashed the siyah 3.4.2 nomicswap kernel, thinking a kernel was the problem. Now i cant get my phone into a proper download mode to reflash a rom kernel combo...
please and thanks
EDIT: scratch that, the download mode is working however, in ODIN it seems to have a problem with not flashing :/
Update: I've plugged my phone into laptop instead and odin appears to be working, perhaps i have faulty usb ports on my desktop, i have yet to see when its done flashing the stock rooted rom if it works or not. Hopefully so!
Okay, im pretty much back to square one, ive rebooted into recovery with the stock rooted rom and cleared the cache, still the same problem with google apps repeatedly force closing and not being able to do anything...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
please and thanks!

I am not allowed to post in ARHD yet.
I am S-off
First time when I installed from stock rom, I did a full wipe, I had everything backed up so i formated everything.
Later when i got this prob, I reinstalled by doing dalvik and cache wipe.

I had this issue as well. Are you using Faux kernel? That might be causing that or try to factory rest, wipe clean partitions delvik ...everything including internal SD. To be safe wipe twice. Also use ARHD super wipe. Then flash through recovery. Keep using the default kernel that comes with the ROM. Hope this helps.

Well I am not using faux kernel.
I think flashing latest gapps can help, but have no time to check. I am on travel this whole week. Should be able to check on weekend.
