I did the same, however I use handcent sms, this program has a music picker integrated.

I dont know if its possible or no.
Use go sms pro, chomp sms or many 3rd party sms app. Go sms pro and chomp have various themes. Find a jb theme and apply it it will look like the link of app u posted.

Well this a bug in some Sony phones... Mine included.
Solution is... Just download 'sync me' app or any other similar.. From play store.. It will keep updating everything.
