I've been looking at some reviews including a very lengthy one from a couple of years back on Youtube where he tried about NINE different brands (Including anti-glare or crystal from the same manufacturers) and he tried pretty much most of the known brands including Zagg. He did miss out Martin Fields and a few others though.
I've seen the XO skins are pretty easy to apply wet. Much easier than the Zagg.
XO aplication.

XO skin for TF

Large shooutout of various screen protectors. But it's a couple of years old and for a tablet PC rather than pads.
http://www.youtube.com/user/tonkabui#p/u/0/9XdVHL1M7vM
I am going to continue looking. But if anyone finds the perfect screen protector let me know. That XO looks easy to apply. But I want anti-glare and anti-reflectin as well as anti-smudge and 0 bubbles (in other words eacy to apply). Protection from scratches is actually pretty low down my list of wants.
If anyone can post their experiences (good or bad) of various screen protectors please do so here. I noticed there is a reasonably priced TF1010 anti-glare protector made by Posr.us and has two five star reviews on Amazon. Also someone called MFX is making one as well as Martin Fields and SGP Steinheil.
Thanks I needed one still and this looked decent and easy to apply (I prefer the wet application) I bought it and used coupon code "retailmenotxo" for 15% off ... it covered more than the shipping so that was cool.
I put on Skinomi on my beloved transformer. yeah it's a wet app, and I'm not yet skilled in it's application yet, but certainly feel much safer with it on than not - even despite the alleged "scratch resisteance of Gorilla Glass"
well my screen has a scratch only had it a week

Well, scratch resistant =/= scratch proof, so all those people who say Gorilla Glass is the reason why you shouldn't need a screen protector are fooling themselves. I personally have a clearfreak protector on my transformer. It definitely makes me feel more at ease when I use it.
I bought two of the (as far as I can tell) unbranded screen protectors from ElectronicCrap.com. Other than the non-existent directions, I'm quite happy. Not terrible with the fingerprints, reduces the glare, feels and appears quite durable. Price seems a tad steep (given that you can get whole packages of universal ones for like $10) but these fit perfectly edge-to-edge with the cutout for both the light sensor and the camera. It didn't come with directions of any kind but it's a screen protector - it isn't rocket science. I'd say overall it's a keeper.
I picked up a dcmugen antiglare from ebay and I love it. Damp or dry install, the type with the two peel off layers, and repositionable to boot. It ships from Asia, and mine came with a slight crease causing bubbles that cant be flattened. I've requested a replacement, waiting to see if they follow through. So much easy to use indoor and out, and far fewer fingerprints to clean off.

Got a zagg at bestbuy today because I was bored more or less. Installation went well even though the thing stuck to itself. But a few hours later and I'm bubble and wrinkle free nd protected. Now to decide if I want a spg crytal or not....

I bought one as well, but it looked like crap on mine. Hen again im terrible at applying these things. I usually let Verizon put screen protectors on my phone.
Has anyone tried the skin protector from PhantomSkinz? I have their carbon fiber back skin and it looks great and is durable

My experience with Zagg has been mixed with all my devices but their customer support is good. If you get a bad protector(line down middle, or little imperfections) they will send you another.
The XO skin looked very promising, and for $10 cheaper I thought I would give it a shot. Just placed an order for the XO skin.
Use discount code retailmenotxo for $3 off(free shipping pretty much)
Pulled the trigger on an XO
after watching all the youtube reviews, i decided that the XO looked best.
ordered one this morning.
just a thanks to all the folks responsible for putting the links and testing together in one place for time-challenged guys like me.
btw, i think the transformer is one of the smartest purchases i've made in the last few years. i'm thoroughly enjoying it.
marvin
Following up on my earlier post. Installed the XO skin in my university's clean room(0 dust, yes I wore the cleanroom suit) and it has streaks. The protector quality is very good but once you put it on there are visible streaks all over. I kept the applicator wet so there would not be "burn marks" as specified by the instructions.
Going to ask for a refund... maybe I'll give Zagg another try. My first ZuneHD protector was wonderful but the 2nd one I got had a big line down it(bad QC).
The perfect screen protector
I always have problems applying the screen protectors to any of my devices, so I did some research and decided to go with one made by a company called Aurum. The deciding factor was that it had a large cut out for my camera so its easier to apply. Overall, I am very happy. I got the two pack in case I messed up the first one.
http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Eee-Pad-...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1308242480&sr=1-4
I dont think I will ever buy the wet applicator types again, the dry is just simpler and gives me choices in whether I want a clear or the anti-glare. Hope this helps
Here is the link to the anti-glare offered by Aurum in case anyone is interested: http://www.amazon.com/Transformer-M...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311083745&sr=1-1
I usually get Bodyguardz for all my gadgets (mostly phones). It just feels better than Zagg's invisible shield and other screen protectors.
Anyone tried using Bodyguardz? I'm thinking about getting either the full body protector or just the screen protector. Hmmm this is tough.
Following up... after 24 hours drying/curing it looks much more acceptable. The funny part is there is a tiny black spec under the protector. I don't know how it got there since I was in a cleanroom!
Found this one in Amazon, similar to the Aurum with anti-glare.
Anyone has used this ? Is this any good ?
HandHelditems - Anti-Fingerprint, Anti-Glare, Matte Finishing Screen Protector (3 Pack) (Free HandHelditems Sketch Universal Stylus Pen)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056K5D0G/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A1NOY9EOR8TXD6
Hmmm... I have previously considered to buy it too, but I've seen the Gorilla Glas Test with the Transformer in a YouTube video... you dont need a screen protector
I just got a screen protector from Photodon. Their MXA film is great. It was a bit of work to put it on with no dust and correctly aligned. But once it's on it looks pretty good. It's got a glossy finish, so it looks just like the original screen. You can hardly tell that there is a screen protector on the transformer. It is pricey at almost $20.00 each, ut the screen is still sharp and crystal clear with none of the haze that a lot of cheap screen protectors have.
xxx.photodon.com/p/MXA-5445-01.html
I used to have Bodyguards for my HTC Touch Pro and it peeled after three months both times that I used them. Now I use Phantom Skinz and I get no orange peel effect and I've had one on my HTC Evo 4G for almost 1 1/2 years with no peeling and no orange peel effect. Smooth as glass and you can't even tell it's on there.
Now I have Phantom Skinz screen protector on my TF and Phantom Skinz Chromatics white carbon skin for the back side. Very nice to say the least.
I would highly recommend a screen protector for the TF because although it has Cornings Gorilla glass, it sux for finger prints and fingerprints are easier to wipe off of a sceen protector than the Gorilla glass.
im using the steinheil Ultra Crystal. also use it on my phone.
Considering ordering this for xmas.
Just wondering if people went with standard B&N screen protector, or if they used something else?
I heard about this: http://www.epinions.com/content_1950392452 on reddit. I think I'll be giving it a try first. If it's not good, I'll go with another ready made type. The price is low enough that I don't mind experimenting.
I may bypass that.. Use to work at radioshack and hated having to cut out screen protectors.. even with the pre-made gride it was annoying..
For the NC, I got a $2.5 eBay job, since it's pre-cut, anti-glare, anti-smudge. Works fine.
The more important question would be HOW TO best apply a screen protector. It's a PITA, especially for butterfingers. I watched a bunch of Youtube how-tos.
There are some tricks, the main one is to work in a non-dusty, lint-free environment, and to scrupulously clean the screen surface. May be the expensive stuff have better cleaning kits. Dunno.
Personally i have elected to go without a screen protector. After using an iPod touch with a screen protector for years i have found it to be a much nicer user experience using glass screen devices without a plastic covering. And since i wont be putting the nook in my pocket im not too worried about scratches from keys and dirt. I do however use the leather nook cover when im taking it places.
Sent from my BNTV250 using Tapatalk
I have also elected, for now, to go without a screen protector. I have a leather cover for it, and I use a stylus I purchased from Walmart (Targus, was cheaper there than anywhere else) almost all of the time. So far so good.
I don't think the NT is glass, feels like some kind of acrylic.
I bought a couple of cheap Matte screen protectors from Ebay. The brand turned out to be Insten 22191 PBNXNOOKSP02 Made in China. I could not get it on without bubbles, so I don't recommend them. I bought 2 for $2, so I may try again. I saw one applied at the B&N store and it was perfect, so perhaps the ones they sell at the store are better.
I had a gift certificate so I bought the matte one from B&N. I normally use InvisiShield protectors on my other gear, but they have a slight orange peel finish that I didn't think would serve the great NT display too well. The B&N screen works fine, but frankly I think it slightly diminished the impact of the high quality display. While it lowers the noticability of smudges, it also reduces the contrast and the sharpness and vibrancy slightly. I'm debating going with no protector, or finding a crystal clear protector that literally looks like nothing is there. I know that will do nothing for the glare and smudges, but it won't be any worse in that regard than not using one at all.
I took a chance on a kit from amazon for $9 which included 2 antiglare sheets and a stylus. The screen covers went on fast and work great while the stylus is decent.
I would post a link but I don't have enough posts, search "glareshatterer" on Amazon.
I went with "stealth shields" in ebay. They are like 7 bux for 2. It goes on with water and soap with a squeegie.
Mine went on flawlessly, no bubbles or anything. Crystal clear.
I find the water and soap shields the easiest to install. I always screw up the self adhesive ones and i alost always get at least 1 bubble.

My transformer prime hasn't arrived yet, but it should any day now. I'd like to have a screen protector ready to apply when I unbox the tablet.
Has anyone here used this ZAGG invisibleSHIELD with their Transformer Prime? Does it actually fit right on the front and back? Are there any issues with clarity? Does it still allow your finger to slide smoothly across the screen like it's supposed to?

Update: I went ahead and ordered it, since it has a lot of good reviews with other devices. If you order the full body version from zagg.com you automatically get free shipping. Using the coupon code "fbfans25" will also remove $10 from the price.
Looks the same as Extreme Guard for twice the price.
I got the Extreme Guard one and even though the back skin looks and works great, I wasn't too thrilled with the screen protector due to it being slightly (very) off and I couldn't get it lined perfectly and ended up throwing it away.
I ordered the full protector and it's on it's way. I have really liked the Zagg products in the past on other devices. I will post an update when I get mine and have it installed.

Let us know if it fits in the dock if you have one. I know the skinomi skins have trouble with it when fully covered. Thanks
Yes let us know what you think of it once you get it. I have one on my iPhone and I'm considering it for my Prime but I have the same concerns you do regarding look and feel. I'm also curious about the fit at the back. Does it stretch over the raised ASUS lettering or is it cut out?

Getting my Prime covered with GhostArmor tomorrow. They have kiosks at nearly every mall. If they do a bad job then you can request a refund. Costs 35 for full shield, and only 10 for following visits to entirely replace the skin.
I don't trust myself with clear shields.
i use the ZAGG TF101 only cause its cheaper...$14.99 and its only a bit smaller then the TFP201,with the case on, the screen is completely protected anyway so the TF101 ZAGG is probably the way to go!!! I love ZAGG products

Have you noticed any line forming on the screen protector where it touches the dock? Someone was saying that happened with the full body skinomi protector in another thread.

Have u gotten the protector yet? I was thinking about doing this too. Is it too thick to fit in the dock?
I updated the original post with a coupon code(fbfans25) I found for 25% off. Hopefully when both the protector and the tablet come in I can post a short review.
i hate zaggs because they tend to stick to my fingers, i prefer bodyguardz. i get better grip with the zagg, but when playing games like fruit ninja, it gets really hard when my fingers are sticking the the protector. i have had about 4 zaggs, and 2 bodyguards. bodygurads are still my favorite
It didn't fit the screen correctly due to size differential? I'm considering getting the extreme guard caz of its price - do you know if it works with the dock?

Ghost Armor just applied
I just put GA on my prime tonight so its still drying, etc.
Initial thoughts;
Unlike Zagg, there is less of the "orange Peel" effect, I didn't mind that in fact i have Zagg on all my phones and like the grippiness. The GA has a very slight orange peel but i think that is just the nature of a vinyl or poly protector.
It's very shiny, make the back look like it was shellacked, again not bad but the texture on Aluminum is lost.
I will say i was a disappointed with the cut of the front and back pieces, I don't know if the material shrinks after cutting but the front piece is a good 1/8 to short on one side. The back is about 1/16 all around. It doesn't look bad but i know its there.
There are cutouts for everything, the speaker, headphone jack, light sensors and cameras. the kit did come with thin pieces for the beveled edge. that was nice, those pieces are sized almost perfectly.
Question
For those you got the Zagg full body kit, how does it fit with the dock?
well i have them installed right now and they are leaving marks on the screens where the dock connects. not really impressed. i will probably remove the shields.

That sucks! I have my full body shield waiting for the prime, which comes on Monday. Hopefully I can figure out some way to use it, even if it's the screen part only. I'd hate to have to send it back. Of course this all depends on whether or not I need to send the actual prime back due to dead pixels or some other issue.
Well i took the the screen one off but left the back on. You could cut the protector or notch out where the dock touches the screen.

Does anyone have any experience with these skins?
How do they feel and how durable are they?
I like that the back is all one piece (unlike the Skinomi) and that it fully surrounds the speaker which seems like an area where my Skinomi will eventually peel up (sharp corners = no no) but I don't want a screen protector that I can detect. If their screen protectors are similar to the SGP Ultra Crystal series though I might be convinced to pick one up.
From past experience, I believe its an invisible shield kind of feel to their screen protector too.
Anyone have more recent experience please correct me if I am wrong
I would buy one to replace my skinomi in a heartbeat as I had a lot of troubles with skinomi's separate side/edge pieces. But alas, it does not have a cut out for the dock, and this is a necessity for me.
Were they to make one with a cutout though...

Do you really need a cutout for the Dock? I have a clear Skinomi skin on the back of my TF Prime and I use it with the keyboard dock all the time with no problems? The only slight issue is that the foam pad inside the dock leaves an imprint on the skin, however it fades a few minutes after taking the tablet out of the dock.
I would recommend Best Skins Ever also. I kept checking their site for Prime versions...but up until a few days ago, there was no application available.
Got the Xtreme skin protector from eBay which is not great. Once applied, the Xtreme version is somewhat sticky (even though I tried invisishield spray...might try some wax next...front screen protector has dark cuts from being squeegeed out from applying - ordered dry application screen protectors).
Would definitely go with Best Skins. No problems so far on my HTC Sensation (since 9/2011) and wifey's ipad 2 (back only since it came out last year).

Yes, because I use a matte screen protector on the front and it is distinguishably thicker than a regular, glossy screen protector. :-\ Otherwise it'd be no problem.

used it in the past, its the same quality as InvisibleShield. just a lot cheaper. i wonder if they are going to make a skin for the keyboard dock also
How hard is it to apply? I've driven myself crazy trying to apply some screen protectors. The main problem is soon as I get done clearing out all the dust/particles then seconds later more dust/particles plop right back on to the screen. I REFUSE to lay down the screen protector on any dust and I just can't find how to do this without ANY dust anywhere. It's just all over. Seems like I need operating room environment.

do it in the bathroom, but steam up the room with running hot water from your sink and tub for maybe a good 20-30 minutes, then start applying it.

NP! good luck and post back with results!
Quick question, if I just get the "body skin", that means I'm getting the back protector right? I'm only interested in back protection, as I prefer the traditional stiff glossy protectors for my screens.
I already have the Xtreme protector, but it doesn't protect the back bezel, which is a no no for me.
Thanks in advance

yeah, the body skin is just the back of the tablet. but pay 2 bux more and u can get both ;p. also they have a 20% off now
Anyone try out the body skin with the keyboard dock yet? Already have some small scratches on the back of my tablet.
I'm running with a skinomi full skin until after I RMA. (no issues with the dock^)
I ordered the full body version from BSE though. I must say there are a few things I like better about the cutouts.
On the screen, the skinomi has a cutout for the camera, and the light sensor. The BSE only has a cutout for the camera. In my opinion this is better as the other one isnt necessary.
Also, instead of two holes for the camera and flash on the back its one figure 8 shaped hole.
The skinomi also has a cutout for the Asus logo. The BSE is one solid piece. No cutout for the logo.
And finally, the skinomi has little side pieces. The BSE the back and sides are all one piece. The back curls around to the sides.
Thats all I've got... I think this one is a better design over the zagg and skinomi skins.
UPDATE
Best skins ever just released dock compatible versions of everything and a total body skin which includes a skin for the dock. They have it on special since its just released.
Ordered the total body kit for $23.16 + shipping
Just bought the full skin for my Prime and Maxx.
Since the prime is packed with Corning® Gorilla® Glass, it should be OK to prevent stretch from daily use, isn't it? I have a keyboard dock and everytime I take out my prime from dock, the screen protector will have a ugly line on the near the connect slot, I just want to take the screen protector away
Gorilla Glass isn't scratch proof, it is just scratch resistant. You can still scratch the glass on your Prime if you aren't careful. Gorilla Glass is strong, but people have the mistaken idea that strength = scratch resistance and this just isn't the case.
Gorilla Glass is strong because is has a decent range of flex before the glass shatters which makes it better suited for tablets and other small thin devices.
Having said that though, I have been using my Prime without a screen protector for the last 3 months. The way I look at it is that if I don't need a screen protector for my laptop, I probably don't need one for my Prime. I pack it into a decent padded pouch when I travel and I never place is screen-side down without some kind of cover on it, and aside from that I just don't worry about it.

I have the same issue, but I decided to keep my on because it does a great job resisting finger prints...
I use the Minisuit anti-glare protector, and have docked / undocked about 20 times since I've had it on, and I don't have a line on my screen protector. Maybe my dock is different somehow..
It give you a peace of mind. iPhone uses corning too and people it does scratch although it offers more protection.
I'd say no. I've had my prime since 12/22 with no screen protector and no real case(I have a targus netbook sleeve that I only use when traveling). I don't have a single scratch on the screen or back, yet..lol
screen protector will decrease display quality and possibly throw off touch sensor inputs slightly. not as responsive.

I'm leaning toward no now also. I put one on my prime when I first got it. But removed it about 2 weeks ago. I'll def be keeping it off.
You must have protection at all times. Lol.
Remember, its always better to be safe than sorry.
I haven't used a screen protector on my DroidX since the day I bought it (18+ months ago). It has been in and out of my pocket with my keys... pocket knife, etc. without a scratch.
I see no reason to put a screen protector on my TF Prime. I do have the prime in a leather case (which I don't particularly like). That is enough protection for me.
I dropped my evo 3d with extended battery (heavy) screen first onto my prime's screen from 3+ feet. No scratches.
Sent from my tf9001 with XDA XD.
Do you really need one? I'd say no. If you just cant let it go and feel unsave all the time without it, go ahead put one on.
Unlike a phone the prime doesnt really come in contact with stuff that could scratch it all the time imho. My phone goes into all kinds of pockets and lays on tables everywhere. But the prime is mostly out in controled situations not when i quickly have to check the time
I have mine sice January with a 11" netbook sleeve for traveling and no scratches so far.
Since I own a cat (or she owns me), and she's already left a scratch on my Prime to mark the territory, I'll say yes. A screen protector is recommended.
If there is something about my Prime im not happywith, is this "Gorilla Glass" hehe.
My Prime has been always in a leather Folio case, pretty cool, and somehow managed to get some scratches on the screen :/ about 5 small scratches.
I have NO idea how they got there since I always use it with the Folio case.
G. Glass does make a good job hidding the scratches, they can only be seen with the right angle and lighting.
It is really up to you, if you can stand screen protectors go for it, if you can't (like me ) just get a case and handle it with care.
Gorilla Glass is awesome, I can't imagine using devices when one time with no screen protector without it. My first touch screen phones scratched much much easier than more recent ones. That said, it is still very scratchable!! I am super super careful with every thing I own, an I mean everything!! So much that friends am family even comment on it, lol. My Evo 4G screen was scratched without me with knowing how. Evo 3D, screen also scratched, 3 different places and 3 different sizes, obviously not done at the same time. I usually use a screen protector. Occasionally in the past I've went without one when knowing I was getting a free exchange from my carrier for irrelevant reasons, or if I'd removed a protector because it was looking rough an didn't have another on hand to install immediately afterwards. I used my Prime for around 3 weeks before installing a protector. I actually just installed a Ghost Armor, front an back, 2 nights ago. Point is, even if you're careful it can be scratched. Some go 2 years without a single scratch, some go 2 days an get a scratch, then some have scratches yet lie an say they don't while going on that screen projectors are dumb an G Glass can't be scratched.
It all comes down to you an what you want/feel is best. Would my Prime have ever scratched if I didn't install one? Maybe not, but now that it's protected I don't ever have to worry or even think about it. To me, it's well worth the price to never have to even think about again. it again. Honestly, I bought my full body
shield because I was more concerned that the back would scratch easier than the front....

Screen protector, 100%
Couple grains of sand will be enough to leave small scratches.
At least this is my experience with my gorilla-glass mobile phones.
I've never used a screen protector on any of my touch devices.
What the prime really need is a back protector. i've got it three days and trarara first scratch on the back....
Guess I may be in the minority, but I couldn't stand all of the fingerprints that the Transformer Prime would show, after only a minute of use!
I ended up purchasing this screen protector.
It has a precisely placed cutout for the keyboard dock, so there's no worries about placing your TP in the dock, after applying the screen shield.
It's also received great reviews from users. Company gives lifetime warranty, and will replace the TechShield should you have any problems, or if it should come off after you've installed it.
Just put it on last night, so it's still showing slight smudge marks below the shield, but I'm confident those will disappear within a few days.
Absolutely NO reduction in screen sensitivity, and it fits perfectly (hole alignment, screen shield fits edge to edge)...
Hey... for $14, if it keeps my Transformer Prime scratch free and reduces all of the fingerprints my TP shows, I'll be pleased!
I don't use a screen protector, and have no scratches on mine, front or back, or on the dock
