xperia u root query - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

guys i want to root my U but my main question is that can we use root memory(2GB) to store music files and play them in the default music player will the play automatically find the files or is there any app to play msic files stored in root
or can we use root folder to store SD data of big games plz reply.....

Root its not a storage access, it a user permission like administrator on windows, now without root we have user rights

well i installed xplore and it showed two folders one internal sd card and the other root folder
sd card it showed 4gb
and root folder it showed 2gb
so im asking if we can use the root folder to play music

Yes you can, there is almost no difference between them, since this phone dont have sd card and as far as i know android requires sd card they splitted internal memory into two pieces one like sd card for user and a second one like internal phione memory

How do I view internal sd

Can someone tell me how I can view the internal sd card files please, cant see it on laptop (win7) and also cant see it in the phone, only external appears. Drovers and PC Companion are installed.
If you want to see your SD files on your phone...
- Go to Android market and search "file manager". There are plenty of file manager apps for free on the market. Some popular ones include Explorer and Astro. (I'm using the former) Install one of those applications and you will be able to navigate to your SD card via your phone.
If trying to access SD card via PC...
- After you plug your phone into the USB, a little USB icon should appear on your phone. Tap on it and enable USB connection. Your phone should scan for the SD card files.
The methods said above is clear and i have to add… as far as i know, there is no way to view your internal storage on a computer... but anyway you can just copy the files using a file explorer to the sd card

You have to download link2sd and go to settings and set install location to external. It works just like adb shell

Works with rooted android.

Download and install titanium backup pro from anywhere you like. Open the program and click on the options button of your phone and click on batch. You'll see a number of operations followed by a run button after each one. Scroll down and you'll see "move all user apps to SD card", click on run and you are done

Without partitioning the SD card, you will always have part of the apps on internal. With partitioning the SD card, you can move the entire apps to SD card.
I just went to gplay (marketplace) and got app2sd. Whether the phone is rooted or not you should be able to move the apps to the sdcard-ext, as long as there is enough room.

Yeah it helps in moving some apps to sd but it doesnt allows you to move all the app to sd. you may need to root you phone in order to move all apps to sd. when i used to use app2sd when i just started using android i used to have around 40 mb internal memory free inspite of moving all the apps that were possible to move on an unrooted phone to sd. I was then inspired to root my phone when i saw its possibilities

How can i make an ext part on my SDcard ???
I am using link2sd and it works like a charm. I have not partitioned my sd card.
TRY THIS
If u have lucky patcher installed on ur device, the version should be 3.9.3, first of all, move ur app or game's data (the very known com.xyz.xxxxx folder) to extsd/android/data or obb by using filemanager , now create that folder with a same name in sdcard or internal sd/android/data or obb/here, which would be like com.xyz.xxxxxx, open lucky patcher v3.9.3 goto toolbox tap directory binder, remember it will not bind the whole sdcard or internal sd , it will work only for particular directory (folder), so no need to worry, now tap on add new directory bind, no tap browse the 1st one, and show it to the path of that extsd/android/data/com.xyz.xxxx folder after that select current directory, now go for browse the 2nd one, goto the internal path should be like sdcard/android/data or obb/com.xyz.xxxx select current directory, now tap on bind directory. thats it, it will save ur sdcrd space. u can check it by setting then storage, i successfully did it in my funbook infinity having 1.5gb internal space available, plays the amazing Spider-Man2 , the dark knight rises, and dead trigger.
I have a rooted but otherwise stock Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (SM-T705) and I have a 128GB Sandisk SD card. Is it possible to move all apps (with all their contents) to the SD card? I read that even though my device is rooted, I will need to partition my SD card first before i can move all apps (with all their contents) to the SD card? Can someone please tell me how to partition my SD card? Also, if I move all apps with all their contents to SD card, would the running of such apps encounter any problems (as part of them are supposed to be in the device internal memory?)
I tried Link2 SD and Titanium Backup Pro but I could not see any such function (only native Android app2sd).
Thank you very much in advance.

sd ext fix for xperia go ONLY TESTED ON GO ICS

hi all i have been very annoyed with sonys attitude to getting the sd card mounting wrong even after speaking to them online and over the phone i got the same reply ... this is not a fault with sony this is something you will need to contact the app devs. unhappy with this i tried fixes found on the www all came up with the same problem it all works fine on the phone but not on pc so after a bit of work i think i have a solution
the vold.fstabs in the /etc needs to be tweaked as with all others on the net but this one works with the pc as well.
has been tested on my device if you replace it with the file attached (root access required ) after renaming original to .bak .
reboot device if you get sd error on reboot please delete and restore orginal and post your finding
please note i am not a dev i have some knowledge but just a hobbyist
i hold no responsibility MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP

Hi.
Is this a bug on all Xperia GO?
I don't have any issue with my SD card on my phone, everything are working like it should i believe.
Could you please explain what kind of problem this is? The SD EXT card i believe is the extra memory card you insert into the phone. If so, i don't have any problem with that one.
Thanks in advance

this is a problem with all go and as far as i know all xperia 2012 phones where the internal memory is partitioned to system and user the user is then mounted as sd card meaning that after 4gb no more app data can be installed etc. this means that you SD CARD is unusable for apps and app data (apps2sd) will try to install to sd card but go to internal memory

but not working. Now everything is ok. Thank You very much!
Uhu, I messed up.
I did everything you said, but right after restarting, some apps (usbotg, media service etc) stopped working and some apps as well, I think they were in internal storage.
One thing, as you were saying, the ext_sd will be sdcard and the sdcard will be ext_sd?
[Xperia Go] are the mountpoints the same in JB?
If I switch my internal and external sd mountpoints using ICS, will a upgrade to JB using SUS overwrite the(modified) vfold.fstab?
Isuspect the upgrade will unroot the phone
can i use in xperia go JB st27i? i tried, but unsuccessfully

hi there if you are a root user please open your root browser and nav to system/etc/vold.fstab rename this to .bak and replace it with the one from this post (you need to do a app backup from the internel memory to the sd card becuase i have have problems copying the card not everything transfers correctly if any1 can shed some light on the please let me no
once you have done this you need to reboot for it to change ( before you do this you need to backup all your apps from the internal memory so that once it has all been changed you an restore your apps

ok so in effect they do the same thing where as that apps wont change the mounting all it does is link the folders (like windows libarys) for each game folder what i have done changes the phones software to make it think that the sd card is internal storage so the sd card will be used for everything that interal storage would normaly be

[Q] Modern Combat 4

Can anyone help me how to install on our lg l9, modern combat 4?
I tried all thing but i cant succeed. I can put only to external sd, cuz our phone has only 2,3 free space. Is there any method? Pls help me
1st of all, u rlly need to exchange ur memories
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096138
Step 3 (the one which I use and to dont get duplicate items just unmound sdcard from menu when u see sd card as storage)
But, for this u need CWM to flash, did u installed recovery/rooted ur phone ? if not, try do it.
For the game just search an APK (and download via WI-FI) or full offline game from different trackers.
I did this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108775
Set the script to boot automatically and this way I always have my SD as my internal memory

Can you detail what should I do prevent duplication? I have around 1100 songs in my phone but after using the trick to swap memories PowerAmp shows 3300+ songs and echa song is showing atleast 3 times in the library...
Just unmount EXTERNAL sd card from storage menu after patch applied, then do a full wipe from power amp + rescan media
LE: See att.
Thanks for the responses. II forgot my question, and only now i watched the comments. In time i found a program named folder mount, and itt works perfectly.
Again thanks for all.
