Has anyone used one? I have the opportunity to buy one, my friend at VZW ran the ESN/IMEI and it came back clean but he doesn't know if you have to be on a VZW employee plan, he thinks that you do.
Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Honestly have not a clue. I just figure they knew people would sell them since it's "limited edition." So it would be kinda dumb if you had to be an employee.

I would put my money on that in their databases when you activate it that it just shows up like a regular maxx and doesn't look special at all on their end. Just like the R2-D2 DROID 2 I had showed up as a regular DROID 2 on my account.

Hey guys I was following a thread a few days ago that was posted about how unlimited data and now I can't find it I'm guessing the OP removed it for sum reason??
Anyone else can confirm this for me please.

By calling Verizon and add the hotspot feature then go online and drop it to get unlimited. I was going to try this but at one point in time my sons line had unlimited data so they just readded it to his line.

Probably so the trick doesn't get caught on to. Worked for me.was on the 10 gb plan for 119 a month.called in added unlimited hotspots and then canceled a few days later.unlimited stuck and now I'm paying 89 monthly

I'm pretty sure it will run on pageplus. They use Verizon's system so the coverage and service would be the same. As long as the esn is good on it.

Phones legit. When got this phone as a replacement I decided to just activate my old BlackBerry. PagePlus another type of pay as you go?
Pag plus cellular does indeed work. (Sending from mu dx2 on PP)
Its a good deal. 55$/month unlimited voice/text and 2GB data

Whats needs to be done to the phone before attempting to activate on PagePlus?
basically just filled out the account stuff here: http://www.pagepluscellular.com/Online Store/Activate.aspx
once that was done I had the activate phone thing come up and dial out with verizons horrid music..
But I bought mine used lil over a month ago, from cowboom for 150$. (might not be a great deal, but was with AT&T before, 2g towers locally = max of about 150MB used a month, and miserable lol)

You are using a Droid x2 on Page Plus Cellular? I've been looking to go prepaid but most prepaid networks that allow you to bring in other carrier's phones (the X2 is Verizon's) require that it be a GSM phone so you can use the new carriers SIM card. The X2 is a CDMA phone, and they don't make a GSM version. I'm curious how you got it working, because Verizon is driving me nuts and I'm looking to switch.

I did a ton of research on trying to bring my X2 to a prepaid network, and on all the networks I checked it couldn't be done. Then again I've never heard of Page Plus so maybe they can. I looked at Simple Mobile, Boost, and Straight Talk and they all require a GSM phone if you want to bring in your own.
page plus resell only verizon services. so cdma only.

I was told they don't use Verizon blacklists so the esn doesn't matter.could be wrong though!

I'm on page plus too with the DX2. been with them for 4 years. No root or flash needed, just a clean ESN.
I was able to get PagePlus working on it...thanks for all the replies.
I use my x2 on prepaid and I pay $95 a month and I have unlimited data.

Definitely has to have a clean esn in order for any vzw device to be on PagePlus.
I gave my X2 to my roommate so he could set it up with page plus. He's coming from straight talk. They couldn't get the X2 to activate. Do you guys think the problem could be from the X2 or more likely from somewhere else?

Which Razr do you have? I have the Verizon razr maxx and am using it on page plus. There are directions on how to flash it, or you can check on ebay. There are people who will do it remotely for you. If you have a gsm version, you can use it with straight talk, just change the apn settings.

i have the vzw version. i didnt know there was a difference and bought this for my girlfriend but she is on straight talk and they wont accept it. wonder if there would be anyone willing to trade.
Will the xt910 work with american sim cards?

I have the xt912 M and used the root instructions and was successful! (YAY Thanks ALL!!!) I am trying to use this phone with another carrier than verizon, What should I do from here? Will rooting phone be enough or do I need a custom ROM before I can do this? I LOVE my phone and do not want to buy a different one if I don't have to. Sorry if these are stupid questions but today is my 1st attempt at cracking my phone open.

Carrier unlock is not possible for Droid Razr.
Though you can use it on GSM carriers but not in the US.

Well i wanted to keep my unlimited data and noticed i could upgrade and keep it through bestbuy so i jumped on a S5. Never had a Samsung was going to get new Maxx but no root yet. Hope there as easy to work with as the razrs as far as roms. Anyway thanks to everyone who has helped me!!
Well never mind they tried to get my unlimited data so back to the RAZR! My wife's data stayed intact though.

You could always upgrade the battery in your OG RAZR to a Maxx. I did it myself on mine.

The only way to keep your unlimited data is to 1) purchase a phone at full price through Verizon or a Verizon dealer or 2) Purchase a used-phone off ebay.
When I upgraded from my X2 to my OG RAZR MAXX, I purchased it off of eBay. Therefore, I was able to keep my unlimited data.
Then, when my RAZR MAXX battery decided to start swelling up, I took it into a Verizon dealer and they went ahead and swapped it out under warranty (even though it wasn't under warranty) and they replaced it with a RAZR HD. I still have my unlimited data and the HD I received was able to have it's bootloader unlocked, so I made out like a bandit.
I was really surprised that they swapped it out under warranty. I had told them it was out of warranty when I first came in and I just wanted to see what my options where. When the manager came out and looked at the phone, he said "replace it under warranty". I told him it was out of warranty and he said, "no problem. We'll replace it under warranty.".
Now that's customer service! :good:
