[Q] The gap between the screen and the bezel on galaxy s3

Hey,
I was watching the videos and the hands-on pictures of galaxy s3 and i noticed that there's an ugly gap between the screen and the bezel and its really bothering me, especially on the white version of the phone. Can anyone tell me why is it that way? I tried searching for the answer but couldn't find any so i decided to ask it here.
Thanks for the replies in advance.
I thing every phone has this black gap
not as much as s3
I too noticed the gap and it is much more visible in white sgs3 than blue. lets see what the s3 users say
It's there, but I don't even notice unless I focus on it. The screen is way to good to focus on a small black gap.

I didn't realize it was there until reading this post ;-) Non-issue IMO.
BTW I have the white SGIII.

you know i was deciding to change my mind and wait for pebble blue color bcoz i thought that gap would be an issue. Thanks for clarifying.
Literally didn't notice it until you pointed it out. I have the white and its fine. Probably less noticeable on the blue.

but its so visible lol howcome you didnt notice that 0_o
Have you held a S III in your own hands yet? Videos/photos don't show the real beauty of the phone. Don't be so quick to judge

I noticed the gaps on my first S3, i went for a replacement this morning because of very obvious spots on my display under black background. Suprisingly, the new unit does not have gaps between the bezel and screen. It fits nicely.
I hade this gap too, should i return it ? I have a smaller One side of the bigger that are under the home button
I had this gap on my White S3, its like screen was coming off and i can see small amount of glu coming out of it.
i went back to shop and exchange with new one which is fine no issues now.
I too never noticed the gap until this thread...not an issue IMO (I have a white S3)
Sorry to revive this thread but I also have this under my home button (though not nearly as bad as mani79 had). I just see a small "ridge" between the screen and plastic bezel.
The display model at my local AT&T store has it as well.
in having a look at my white s3, i dont have any issues whatso ever, not even a small amount of lifting or seperation. Must just be luck of the draw
Notice the ridge between the chrome and glass in this stock photo? That's what I'm talking about. That little ridge.
just check, mine looks ok
I have the pebble blue version and a small gap on the bottom - it isnt noticeable though but I will keep an eye on it as I wont be happy if it starts filling up with dust and becomes unsightly.
This phone has a gap similar but slightly worse than mine. Notice the gap on the right and bottom of the screen.

LopSided Physical Button

Anyone else experiencing this? is this the way the button is or is this a manufacturing error? o.0
This is my second Galaxy s3 with the problem
Wat exactly is the problem ?ss looks fine? u talking about the gap between the button and other part//?
I'm using a blue one. No such gap.

Yep, the gap is slightly worse on the phone I have now, im using the pic from the one i had exchanged, though this one has it as well. It's really annoying. I've noticed the blue one doesn't seem to have it at all, though watching some youtube videos on the white one its more apparent though not every phone is like that?
Seems minor but water damage isn't covered by warranty unless you buy it; the phone costs enough, its just a pain in the arse.
Anyone with the white s3 have this gap?
I have the blue one and yes.. This gap is present too...
Nothing to worry about, but, if I slide my finger across the button, slightly pressing it, it does "click" (is not the same when you are pressing it to wake up the screen..)
I have two launch models (which were made in Korea) and they have very solid home buttons.
I have 3 models produced a few weeks later (made in Vietnam) and they all have the lop sided/loose home button.
Pretty poor from Samsung...
Marble white.. all even steven here.

I have two (pebble blue) s3's made in Vietnam. One is a launch model and the other is the latest i just got yesterday, and both are perfectly centered.

Hmm really does sound like luck of the draw. The home button is put on before the screen itself I believe so only way to fix it is by replacing the screen which sucks pretty bad tbh.
@Crazy CS- you're right you haven't done a completely solid job with the Galaxy s3 have they =/
I tried looking for manufacturering issues and theres quite a few niggly little things about the s3, it's just such a shame!
Anyone else? I've just ordered another Marble White model from a different seller. I think my first one was manufactured by Korea then the current one by Samsung themselves; Waiting on a new one tomorrow- Praying it's perfect...
I'd really like to know what the ratio seems to be as it's pretty much 50/50 for this right now for having a well manufactured Galaxy s3.
Is this a general issue or, colour specific etc.

Seems to be poor quality control on Samsungs part, New phone arrived today (third time; somewhat lucky) buttons perfectly centred but does move off into the 'gapped' position :') and the in-between the screen and white phone screen it has light reflecting :') You have to pick the lesser evil with this phone you really do :')
I've played with at least 10 S3s that have just come out of the box and each one has had a different issue. Lopsided home button, loose volume rocker, really flushed power button...... Samsung have really done a bad job this time around.

Sorta Wobbly Power Button

Hey guys I've had the Galaxy Note for awhile and I love it. Right now something that worries me is the wobbly power button. It still works well but wobblyness sometimes makes the tilt a bit so that it's hard to know if I pressed it or not but still works 100% of the time. Is this normal?
Wobbly power button is definitely not normal. Not a wiggle in mine.
at least yours works, my forces a reboot/bootloop everytime I use it. i have to bypass is with a volume wake and screen off widget

If it's still on warranty with your carrier replace it. If it giant see if Samsung will replace it. Curious though: white model or black?

It's the black model. I might be exaggerating a bit on the wobbliness but it is sorta noticeable. I think I can live with it, and my warranty is long enough so that if something does happen to it I can just say it's a defect and replace it.
Fair enough. I have only seen hairline cracks on the white models so that's why I asked. I've dropped my black note too many times to count and flashed it too many times to count and so far no cracks and no wobbliness and only a few minor scuffs and scratches on the bezel.

Vertical and horizontal "streaks" on screen?

So I just got my i9505 yesterday, and I noticed there are some faint vertical and horizontal "streaks" on the screen that are most apparent when displaying grey. It's pretty subtle, but it's definitely there. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know what it is or if it's normal?
I remember that being a problem on the galaxy nexus which mine had but never saw that issue in the s3... and you would think the s4 screen should be flawless.. I would like to see what others say?

Seeing the same exact thing on mine. It doesn't bother me unless I really think about it, but I feel like it shouldn't be there at all. Maybe I'm just unfamiliar with OLED screens and this is normal.
Anyone else want to chime in?

Same thing on mine. Coming from a note 2. And remember the issue on the nexus. Unless I focus hard enough only on some apps I can see. If it gets worse overtime later down the road I'll warranty. But it's not bad enough. My eyes mainly see it on gray screens.

Me too same issue with my S4 I9500. Firsly My screen have pink tont at the bottom, I have replace 3 screens at Samsung service center, but the 3rd one had Vertical and horizotal Streks on screen and i can see them at Gray and others colors so much.
So sad.
Should i replace the other screen?

[Q] My S2 i9100 home button is not tight-fit

Is there anyway i can make my home button fit perfectly? there's kinda gap that let's my s2 home button move from left to right and vice versa, the gap is not that noticable, but after a week of usage, i began to notice it, and its annoying tbh, since all s2's i layed my hands on have perfectly tight fit home buttons , also my s2 doesn't have samsung logo underneath the grill
Then you have some replacement screen without logo i believe. Touch down in the corner and touch then the buttonn or it is then tight. If so then the digitizer isnt good on the place i guess not good glued or bad quality. I dont know how to fix it but mine screen is replaced too and its also moving cause the screen isnt good down on the right side. Hope you can find a fix need to go to school now
